A war hero, a half breed who came back and turned his back on society,

A man named Billy, who believed in his Indian heritage.

He wanted to be left alone but this would not be,

Protected those who were innocent and wanted to be free.

A town full of hate and Ignorance Ignored,

Love for a woman silently seen.

Did not choose to kill, lived his own way,

Love for horses and the land where he stood.

They called him Billy, a quiet man,

The violence of others would spill blood in a town.

Some would die but he would fight for what was right,

In the end, he would surrender, no more a free man.
