Already did he sacrifice his life for his country and family,
Doing what it took, in harms way each day to make things safe.
He has survived many dangerous fights in nights of fright,
He was now home, wanted some peace and to know his child,
When they took his daughter, they would know no peace.
A military man, a promise to get her back, to save his daughter,
This was his job, now a personal fight for a loved one’s life.
To save his daughter this man would risk it all, he would not fail,
Not about honor but for his love of a daughter.

Fantastic piece! I can feel his heart tearing as he feels the betrayal. Only problem I noticed, in line 4 should too be to? It’s an easy one to overlook. But excellent.
THIS HAS A POWERFUL TONE AS IF THE MAN MIGHT LOSE HIS CHILD SOON. WAS SHE VERY ILL OR JUST CAPTURED?
Sorry about capitals; I felt the ache of this poem. Edit line 3 to(o) know and loved one’s life.
Iwas a teacher and want this to look good! You are a deep thinker
Assuming this is true, it’s deeply moving. Even if not, it’s fine writing.
I love this…sometimes we are the hero to many people, but being a hero to our self sometimes is the most taxing and painful decision.
