A MORNING MILE AND HOME

To beat the heat I took a stroll, a mile down the road,

On my way I saw all their faces, heading for many places.

A good morning, a smile, nothing at all with a blank stare,

In a rush as the cross walks and red lights are forgotten.

Texting as they drive, some of them soon will die,

Because of their ignorance, an innocent ones life.

A cool breeze as the day is still young, no rain and too much sun.

Music in my head to drown out the constant noise of life,

A mile back home with many projects in my sight.
