A WINTER’S VISIT

                                  A WINTER’S VISIT

                                  BY KEITH  GARRETT

He came to visit, it was time to say hello,

Been away for a while, he came with a song.

The snow is coming down, he’ll stay till the Spring,

So glad that he’s here, a visit from a friend.

“how have you been”  my  words to him,

A slight smile on his face, not an answer to give.

“it’s nice to see you, so glad that you’re here”

Again a smile, down his face runs a tear.

“Almost Christmas my friend, thanks for your gift”

“He looked at me and spoke” “What gift” “a Winter’s visit”

“I hope you’ll stay but I know in the Spring you’ll go away”

He had a song for me about why he couldn’t stay.

“I once lived but now I have a new home”

“Thanks for remembering me” “I’m in heaven” ” also in your heart”
