O’ beautiful angel, who are you? are
You from heaven?
I see you sitting there praying so
Peacefully on the ground.
A face I can not see, hidden beneath
Your arms, you are,
Imagine, do I, the beauty of your
Heavenly smile, I dream.
The color of your hair shines under
The nights’ falling snow.
Surrounding your spirit is a most
Wonderful glow, yes! angel.
Wings of white, spread wide into
The winter cold night,
Your body draped in a gown of red,
Beautiful, are you.
O’ Christmas angel, please tell me
Why is it that you rest?
Why, beneath that empty, almost
Lifeless tree, under the dark of night?
Words will not describe the way that
You appear,
The way in which my eyes see you,
Christmas angel. Keith Garrett
