SNOW AROUND THE LAKE

Look to the sky, oh! such a cold, cold

Looking, clouded sight,

Not too soon before, must have

Dropped a white blanket around

This lake.

Trees, covered with layers of frosty

Snow, standing, always standing,

Watching over this still, almost

Frozen water, surrounded by the

Winter snow.

Silent are they until the howling

Winds teach them to speak,

Echoing the thrashing of their

Branches into this winter’s day.

On the other side, across the water,

beyond the tall, beautiful pine trees,

A cabin, A wood-covered cabin, sits

Staring, always staring at a lake that

The never-ending sky looks down

Upon.

There’s much, much more than just

Snow around the lake,

There is a world of nature that lives

Together.
