MAN OF WINTER

            MAN OF WINTER

Born of snow, he arrived one day,

A friendly sort, with children he would play.

So happy and round, with a smile on his face,

His time was so short, having fun was his race.

THIS MAN OF WINTER, soon he must go,

As the temperature rises and the sun says hello.

So, happy New Year you’ll hear him say,

I’ll be back again, again someday.

OLD MAN WINTER

                                                  OLD MAN WINTER

From English folklore he does exist, he is Jack Frost,

He appears as an Elfish creature who personifies crisp,

Cold, Winter weather.

Old man Winter, He is nicknamed by legend, through time,

Attacks do he from the night with a chilling blast of cold.

He is everywhere and anywhere that he chooses for the season,

If your imagination is strong,  then with your eyes you may see him.

Scary might he be, for sometimes the picture of Winter is just that,

Disappears with the wind as Spring begins, goodbye Jack Frost.

WHEN SANTA VISITS YORBA LINDA

                     WHEN SANTA VISITS YORBA LINDA

I was once a child when Santa visited a small, growing town,

It seems like only yesterday as it is in time so many years.

Decorated trees, colors so bright, lit up  a Yorba Linda sky,

Thoughts of a cold, blustery Winter are remembered by me.

Many friends walked the streets all those years ago,

As children, the coming of Christmas was the best of times.

In the night I walked our neighborhood, yards bright with light,

There was beautifully decorated trees I could see through windows.

Many years have passed, certain Christmases stand out, special

Moments,

Santa did visit a small town, once upon a time, when we were young,

When Santa visits Yorba Linda another generation of children

Experience the magic of Winter and Christmas once again.

                                                                               A CHANCE TO CHANGE

An English setting, a time of old, a man with a heart so cold,

snow falling from the sky as the not so fortunate, await Christmas.

Friendly he is not, forgotten has he the meaning of love in his day,

Alone he sits, alone he values the riches within his pockets.

To a home, this man enters each night and dines quite silently,

What he will learn soon is sad but true, precious, wasted, time.

Visited to him on this Christmas Eve will be ghosts of three,

The past, present, and future,  haunt a man such as him.

Through the night travels a burdened soul with a truth,

Where he has come from to now that which he has become.

Sees does this old, bitter, man his yesterday, today, and tomorrow,

A chance to change is a most priceless gift of all, forgive us all.

Time waste but lessons accompanied by tears of regret,

A story told about a man who with open eyes was blinded.

Given to him by ghosts of three the gift of a chance to change,

Old man from the past, you now walk with a different heart.

A CELEBRATION OF CHRISTMAS IN HEAVEN

                                                                             A CELEBRATION OF CHRISTMAS

                                                                                                 IN HEAVEN

Imagine it, can it even be pictured in our mortal minds,

They're getting ready for a party, a celebration in a place and time.

Spirits at rest, do they roam around within those heavenly gates,

Close your eyes and see all the guests that will join for this occasion.

Shed no tears as a father and mother dance once again together,

A grandmother and grandfather sing songs with family and friends again.

It's been asked so many times, when we die is this the end, no more ever,

You don't need to ask if in god and heaven you deep inside believe.

A celebration of Christmas in heaven would be of the most spectacular,

We celebrate the season here and pray for all those whom are missed, they know.

I loved this time of year, Christmas is coming,

Looking out of the window was a favorite thing.

I loved looking at the colorful lights on the tree,

I went to bed last, tired and worn down from time.

Before Christmas I had my long physical life you see,

When Christmas comes I will be with him in heaven,

The one I lost and now have joined together for all time.
