AN ALWAYS CHANGING SKY

AN ALWAYS CHANGING SKY

A light shade of gray evenly covering that which lives below,

Clouds so heavy and thick with moisture ready to rain down.

In the early evening as the sun fades many shades of color,

After dark, on a clear, starry night you can see forever high.

Big, white fluffy clouds of many shapes sitting still above your head,

With the wind, you’ll see their shapes change and drift slowly away.

Thunder and lightning visit a dark, stormy day, the sun is there,

Hiding beyond the blanket of nature, the sun still shines without sight.

An always changing sky, never the same throughout any given day,

The sky is always there, it is the elements that move through and change it.

AMESBURY, MASSACHUSETTS

AMESBURY, MASSACHUSETTS

My thoughts and memories go way back In time to a faraway place,

Not so far In distance anymore as the distance In my mind, Amesbury.

There are times when I can smell the air and still feel the cold, snow,

I remember I was only four and a half, I do recall that far back, East.

My eyes can see those purple grapes on the vines, the hills up above our house,

Playing with my friend Donnie, we had many adventures as kids back then.

I’m not really sure but there appeared to be woods or trees down our street,

I remember riding my batman bike, a cellar out back I do believe, not a dream.

I had a bag of blocks, all different colors and shapes, I was just a small boy,

I can remember the snow storms that put the power out, I can see candles In the house.

A memory of being In my bed staring at my Herman Munster head on the dresser,

Coloring books, cartoons such as Milton the monster show, Christmas Eve snow.

Icicles hanging from rooftops, making snowmen out In the freezing cold,

Sometimes I want to go home, back to where It all began, when I was most happy.

I remember laying on my parents’ bed, staring up at a full moon, when will they be home,

I think of a dad out In the snow, can somebody answer me, where did he go.?

Throwing snowballs Into the street, cold through my gloves, I remember me,

So many memories locked Inside the mind of a long lost child once upon a time.

Amesbury, Massachusetts seems like a dream, A story written from thoughts of a child,

There once was a boy named Keith, he had a life that’s been written In a book put away.

It sits on a shelf but never does It again get read, thoughts that rest forever In a man’s head.

AMERICA IS A WAR

AMERICA IS A WAR

Everywhere, from land to land they are destroying,

Mass destruction, killing so many in foreign places.

They know and speak of us fore we are the center of attention,

Worry more about what’s happening over there, beware.

America is a war, we are fighting in the streets, hate is strong,

Who can we trust, only ourselves with eyes in the back of our heads.

There is more crime going on behind closed doors than in the dark of night,

Fighting for territory, drug wars, gangs in every town, out of control,

We need not worry about being destroyed by others as we will do this ourselves.

ALONG A COUNTRY ROAD

ALONG A COUNTRY ROAD

These things I might find strolling along a country road,

From my mind, I can create a day or reality along my way.

I see the sun rising in the early morning sky, my day begins,

Dream do I of a perfect setting, fields, and hills of beautiful color.

Nothing can go wrong, not in this made up scene that I want to be,

Swim do I in a pond that appears along a country road, quiet and alone.

There is a wind blowing through the trees, across the field I feel,

Haystacks scattered in a country dream, a farm where I wish to be,

Along a country road, all possibilities unfold, from a dream, all that can be seen.

ALONE IN THE DARK

ALONE IN THE DARK

Everyone Is gone, I look around, silence Is the sound,

Where did they go, I do not know, I am somehow alone.

A campsite of darkness Is a fun and peaceful place,

A warm fire, friends, and laughter will liven up the night.

What a difference It makes when you’re alone In the dark,

The lonely quiet that accompanies’s a fear that something Is there.

There are two parts, different views on being alone In the dark,

Peace and time by yourself to breathe and think can be great.

Wondering what’s a danger or the silent dark that scares a man,

Fear of the unknown, afraid of being alone, alone In the dark.

ALL THAT I SEE

All that I see

Far In the distance I see hills’ standing still,

Trees of green blowing In the breeze, falling leaves.

Grass of green that I see below me, vision of paradise,

A lake that sits’ beneath the sky, this sky sometimes cries.

I am a dreamer who sees with heart and soul,

All that I see Is not only a dream.

AGAINST NATURE

AGAINST NATURE

These things that are against nature are a reality,

Certain it is that we are not allowed to be here forever.

Trees may not stay small, age they will, older than man are many,

Mountains are formed, they age and change but may be always.

Against nature that all things will stay the same, this is true,

There are more of these against nature, take a look with me.

Burning things that sicken the lungs and dirty the air,

Bombs dropping from the sky, chemical spills everywhere.

Trash tossed from windows, lining the streets you see,

Environment is being altered, everyone sees, eyes are closed.

ADRIFT

“ADRIFT”

What is a sea that has no shore,

Where its weary waves can rest?

What is a night that has no stars,

Where the seas and skies caress?

What is a sun that fails to shine?

Just a heaven void of soul.

What is a dream that has no theme?

Just a mind that lacks a goal.

What is a love that can’t be shared,

When love is based on two.?

Lost and alone, lord without throne,

Am i when without you.

QUALITY OF LIFE

QUALITY OF LIFE

When we are young for granted we take running till day is done,

Strong legs and energy, so fortunate if you are without sickness.

Adjust do we our every day in different ways as we wear down, decay,

Push on through, never surrendering to age or time, we do let go.

Quality of life, that’s how we wish to live, pain free and happy,

We all live a different lifestyle, our individual way of living each day.

Quality of life, it can change in a flash, an accident, disaster, disease,

Life is a special gift, our quality of life means much to us, to live or exist.

How good is life when you feel sick or can’t enjoy your daily activities,

We all have or will one day aquire those things, ailments that will limit us.

Appreciate the health you have and run, play, see everything while you can.

ADRIFT AT SEA

ADRIFT AT SEA

No memory have I of how this came to be,

Lost and alone, just me and the sea.

Day after day, across endless water,

Above only the sky and the seagulls that fly.

Get by do I with only little water and food,

Maybe a hope and a prayer that it may get me through.

In the distance perhaps a dolphin or whale,

My imagination is running wild.

Thinking of what’s below me scares me some,

Loneliness is worse fore nobody listens.

A dream am I having or my personal hell,

Until the end of this I’ll not be able to tell.

Up ahead, what is it that I see,

My hope and prayer is answered to me,

No longer will I be, adrift at sea.
