100 YEARS FROM TODAY

Yesterday, what we see as hundreds of years ago is gone,

History it is to us, read about in books of long lost times.

The days are always moving along, we do take for granted the morning,

The setting sun is a most spectacular sight, heading into the night.

Here where we stand may still be standing, another will be standing,

100 years from today the world that we know will have much changed.

Just as we wonder what life was like back in a time of cowboys and pioneers,

Tomorrow’s people will also wonder and read about our time and place.

100 years from today we will be a part of history, others will be amazed,

Just as we are amazed and dream of those times when the world appeared too be a dream.

EVERYONE HURTS SOMETIMES

Emotions run deep, hidden inside are feelings so strong,

Beneath a layer of human appearance rests another side.

What hurts in the mind also hurts within a souls heart,

Everyone hurts sometimes, maybe the wanting for a friend.

Things that don’t go your way, thoughts of a haunting yesterday,

Everyone hurts in a moment, quietly they suffer not wanting sympathy,

Others scream out in agony, help me! they say, fix this painful day.

Everyone hurts sometimes, life can be beautiful or it can be unkind.

CAN’T TOUCH THE SUN

My hand is stretched in front of my face, i reach for the sun,

So close but how far away is incredible when really Imagined.

We can touch the rain, it falls far to where we are,

Touch the wind without seeing, it moves like a dance not seen.

We can touch the trees no matter how tall in the sky they be,

The mountains, they can be felt, not always touched in places untouchable.

We can touch the ocean, fire touched will surely burn but touched it can,

These things touched are a creation worth putting a hand upon.

It is that we may strive to touch the sky, too reach for a plane flying by,

Reach high and wish a hand touch that glowing moon in the night.

We can dream, maybe make them come true, we can’t touch the sun,

We can run, grab hold of many things until our day is done.

TO SAY MORE WITH ONE’S HEART

Speak he could not and was referred too as the wild boy,

Treated so inhumane, less than an animal was this boy.

Caged and put on display, his value was limited to the world,

Escaped from his lonely existence, rescued by a kind hearted soul.

There were those whom wanted him put away, locked back in a cage,

No! this outside world did not care or try to understand, so very cruel.

To say more with one’s heart was this boy with a hidden smile,

His eyes showed much love for mankind, could he have this in return.

Not a wild boy as was created by a black soul, a giving, wanting young man,

To say more with one’s heart is quite a gift, he found love in his world.

FROM WHERE I SIT

Ahead in front of me I gaze at a sight,

Of a world of wonders, not always fright.

I see the good that has been upon us blessed,

Maybe taken for grantedby all at one time.

Seeing at times like a soul with no eyes,

Listen again with my ears, too hear what’s around.

Opening my mind to now focus on what’s to see,

Much love around me there is to be.

Too understand all that’s been good,

And put away in the distance any bad as I should.

Things that are from where I sit.

“SUPERSTITIOUS”

Don’t walk under a ladder or something bad may happen,

Who knows if crossing a black cat’s path will touch your life.

Seven years bad luck if you do break a mirror, possibly,

The ace of spades, do you believe in it as the card of death?

Friday the thirteenth, will you run and hide from a number?

Remember not to step on a crack, what curse will fall upon you?

Could somebody really be labeled a jinx, silly is this I think,

A full moon, does a werewolf roam within the hills till dawn?

Superstitious things, to many there is a fear it brings.

FAR FROM HOME

To far have I gone for what is wanted,

Turn and go back, not quite where I’ve started.

Lost in between this place for us,

No stress or burden, not even a fuss.

I’m stuck standing still, where do I go?

I have to keep going, don’t choose to be home all alone.

I need to be back where it is I belong,

Inside with who I am, not a stranger in my home.

To sit here peacefully and know I can be me,

Not worrying about what they want to see,

I can only be the real me.

INSIDE MY BOOK

A life of thoughts lay in words beyond this cover,

Places I have seen or dreamed are remembered here.

Imagination, fantastic stories created from this mind,

So many places visited, each day a scene made up or recalled.

Inside my book are worlds not seen but for me dreamed,

There are those special lands where I once stood as a child.

Inside my book there are things revealed about love and pain,

Friends thought of whom are between these pages, not seen.

That who I am rests here behind a cover, on paper saved,

My creation of emotion, fantasy, and dreams shared always.

A VIEW WORTH SEEING

Fortunate if you are to see throught the darkness,

For granted do not take the gift of light, always night.

Scenes and visions from the mind are wonderful at times,

To open your eyes and nothing rests in your sight a fright.

A view worth seeing comes to the grateful eyes day or night,

The morning light with the birds beautiful in your sight.

Wherever you go a picture of color awaits, always changing,

Each day a different view, open your eyes to a view worth seeing.

EMOTION IN HAND

Pain in the mind is a heart felt thing,

Many sorrows to a soul it brings.

The hurt of a love lost is an experience not wanted,

Emotional trauma to ones mind like being haunted.

When transformed into a physical agony now a loss of control,

Brings a weakness of sorts to a man who is strong.

To let thoughts of your feelings take you too a place of self destruction,

Is such a sad disappointment to those whom love and count on you.

From the mind to the heart too the hand that breaks,

Emotional and physical pain must not touch.
