PRECIOUS

Sense do I the light as I open my eyes to a mornings sight,
Sunlight through the windows, pine trees standing so tall.
Outside I step to a chill but quickly the warmth of the sun chases it away,
Many shadows mixed within the light, creatures running about.
Precious is the day when life still sees from your tired eyes,
Precious is that which we have even when we do not understand.
Close your eyes for a moment and put aside the ugliness or troubles of the world,
Precious are those things that you think of now, what do you see.
A family, children to watch grow, health and happiness, look further,
Precious is a warm home, food so that you feel not the hunger of the land.
Precious is the touch of a new life, a grandchild with a life to dream,
The breath you take, precious is love that comes your way.
Precious is the day.

THY HEALING BREATH

With a heart so pure, filled with love, he does heal,

Pain and suffering taken away, a gift given, a miracle.

With energy so strong and a powerful feeling for life,

From within his being, coming out is a healing touch.

The hurt and agony is felt by this man in his heart and mind,

This misery and fear he’ll take from you into his own body.

With his breath he’ll Inhale the sadness and death from you,

The cancer and ugliness of the world he’ll exhale and blow out

Into the wind away from the good that lies within.

Thought to be bad but in reality a good man judged badly,

Who is he you could not understand,

Thy healing breath lies in this man.

PLEASE SIR, DON’T DO IT

It isn’t right, please sir! think about what it is you wish to do,

Stop for just a moment and listen to me, you owe it to yourself.

Why is it you feel life is a gift you can throw back in his face,

Nothing, think hard about this, nothing is worth what you are going to do.

Everywhere, everyday there are those whom cling to life, they hold on,

Here you stand, a most pathetic man of weakness, I do understand.

Please sir, don’t do it, in an Instance you’ll be forever gone,

He already knows why you want to die, he watches as you decide.

Please sir, tell me why there’s not a thing, a purpose, loved ones that matter,

Do you not get it, you are not brave, a selfish, cowardly act you will perform.

Take hold of my hand and walk away and tomorrow we shall pray for a new day,

You know who i am, as you wanted to die, i watched you cry,

You kept asking for me to appear and make it alright,

It was up to you to save your own life.

CALM AFTER THE STORM

Watched as the sky turned black, a monster in the sky,

The winds appeared with much strength and power, no sight.

Thunder roared from heaven, strikes of lightning lit up the night,

Rain came down lifting the ocean higher, waves crashing agaist the shore.

Hell was here on this particular night to visit, destruction but no defeat,

So many things destroyed by the act of an angry mother nature.

The morning light would soon be here to see what had not disappeared,

Quiet now as the storm was no more, left its mark upon the shore.

There’s a calm now as the voices of seagulls are heard from above,

The rising sun is quiet as its rays shine down on what a storm has done.

The tide is a bit calmer this morning, gods beauty does exist among disaster,

A slight breeze is in the air, the sand is still now, heaven and hell in the mix.

What overcomes is love and blessings of the lord, we will survive another night,

Calm after the storm, another day will be born.

UNDER THE PECAN TREE

UNDER THE PECAN TREE

A place where he wanted to one day be for eternity burried,

Together we had a life, adventures that you wouldn’t believe.

Rangers, Texas rangers in a time of much wilderness land,

Not enough law to stop murderers and thieves, this is my story.

Once we were young, deciding that law and order must be done,

We rode on horses fighting the Indians although they fought for survival.

What was worse them or the white man whom would fight one another,

Kill and steal, hate and destroy to take all that they could without heart.

Together we grew older, friends with an understanding, although we disagreed,

We felt we did what was right, a lifetime of loneliness and sacrifice.

Quite an adventure we had together, we saw the country change,

We both lived a good, long life, a day came when one of us had to say goodbye, it would be I.

My good friend, the only true friend, he would leave with an asking promise,

Take me back, far away, when Spring comes take me to that place in Texas.

I promise you my friend, he traveled two thousand miles to rest his friend

Under the Pecan tree.

AFTERNOON OF MY LIFE

I was born on a February day, It was early morning in my life,

A baby’s first look at a world that would show to him many things.

Still it was Winter, in the East where snow was falling down to the ground,

The day was young as i also was young, there’s a memory but i don’t remember.

As a small boy there are for me thoughts and memory’s of playing in the snow,

Building a snowman, Icicles hanging from the roof tops, grapes on the vines.

I’ve had the bad and good experiece in my time, just as every living soul does,

Soon the sun would rise and i would open my green eyes to things around me.

It’s high in the sky shining down on my life while its warmth covers me as i grow,

Moving ahead seeing the world change as my life changes, friends come and go.

Life can seem hard and long just as there is much fun and pleasure to come,

My life moves on just as the sun moves further above, over my head.

My eyes have experienced great and wonderful scenes of the land,

There’s much more to be seen if i’m blessed or if so lucky.

This is the afternoon of my life as i keep living until the night.

ENTER MY WORLD OF FANTASY

Welcome to my world, a world of make believe and much fantasy,

A place where there is no law just as there is no war or crime.

Everything here holds only beautiful things and magic dreams,

No trash upon this ground, not a dirty or angry word makes a sound.

Drinks are everywhere, anytime without trouble if you might care,

Gamble all night if indeed it is games for money you desire.

For woman or man love is always here, whatever you choose,

Remember that all is possible because in a land where you

Can have anything desired law and crime exist elsewhere.

Are you of hunger, you’re in luck fore on every corner a table

Of your greatest, wanting, desired taste awaits in a feast.

Enter my world of fantasy where pain and suffering cease to be,

There are no rulers of crowns whom wear masks to hide reality.

No souls that hold the key of destruction, here there is peace as all are free,

Enter my world of fantasy but leave your weapons at the door,

In this house we are equally strong, no one stands above the rest.

FROM HEAVEN, CAN YOU HEAR ME?

I look to the sky, can you see me through the clouds,

I’m standing here lord, what shall i do to make it today.?

From my eyes their are many tears that flow to no end,

In this body it is my heart that cry’s for your help to ease my sorrow.

Stand by me when my loneliness is much more than i can bare,

Take away this pain and anger that lives in my soul as i move forward.

Take from me these nightmares that visit when i sleep, oh! please,

Let me rest as my body feels so very tired from this plight.

From heaven can you hear me, do you know who i am,

Will you listen as i ask for you guiding hand.?

FROM MY THINKING WORLD

An amazing place, Inside myself, a world away from the material world,

The nucleus where all my thoughts and wonderings wait for me, my brain.

Whatever i want exists there, there is no limit or rules to what can be Imagined,

Anything i wish to be or think is mine, I am in charge, the master is me.

Story’s to be made up and told from these fingers upon blank endless paper,

From my thinking world I travel away to many adventureous lands of fantasy.

Sometimes I feel as though i would like to stay there but i must make the journey back,

Trying to stay away, to visit there for much to long would have its own consequences.

From my thinking world so many great and wonderful words of poetry are dreamed,

Closing my eyes for but a moment in time just to see and feel what’s inside of me.

Mystery from inside, gods spectacular art creating the human mind, reasons why,

From my thinking mind realizing never to take again for granted a gift of thought.

As we grow old it comes to reason that our minds may change, sickness of the brain,

Reality for some might just go away, from my thinking mind i may not return.

From my thinking mind i will treasure the lords mysterious gift so kind.

FROM WITHIN THE DARK

I fell so far into a dark place, a hole of nothing,
To emerge from this hell, faith and courage i would have to keep
A tight hold of as well as my strength and love to find my way.
At times hope appeared too be only an Illusion, my dreams gone,
Everything is what i had but nothing to these eyes seen, pain cries.
Into the light i’ve found my way back, I walk a path not for granted,
From within the dark i stand tall and take notice of the gift of life.
I watch the eyes that watch me, I smile with the smiles around me,
They speak words when to them a morning hello, I am known.
My loss and sorrow is noted inside a man whom knows no quit,
I will not be defeated y the Invisible warrior who stalks me.
At times the road is dark but for you walk it i will without fail,
Fall to the fround, falling down is not in me, I’ve emerged from within the dark.
