SNOWMAN AND THE REINDEER

                SNOWMAN AND THE REINDEER

" I have seen you for ages, fly up in the
    Winter sky,"

" I stand here motionless", "I want to fly
    Some night."

" You stand in the snow all over the world,
    Snowman,'

"I would like to stand for just a while in a
  small town."

"You are the Reindeer named Rudolph! this is
  True,"

"From a far off land, I have stood at the home
    Of Santa too."

" you are Frosty, dressed up for the season, I
     See Where you stand,"

"Together we have been a part of Christmas for
   Many Lifetimes my friend."
                                                      Keith Garrett

CHRISTMAS DREAMS

I imagined I was awake, and this aging

World had changed,

Asleep and dreaming was this man,

Listen to what is seen.

Just suppose all mankind is with

Peace, my mind sees,

No wars to conquer, no child

Would have to die.

Anger and hatred put aside,

Not a bomb to drop on any side.

All home for Christmas, loved

Ones together everywhere.

No colors of difference, all are

Of human flesh and blood,

Violence and crime are a thing

Of the past, do you see?

As I sleep, watch me while I dream,

Imagine,

Hand in hand, across the land, give

Of yourself, what you can.

Evil and corruption are destroyed from

Above, dream with me,

Christmas dreams live inside many

A heart, love conquers.

The world holds much beauty, but

Covered with doubt and fear,

My dreams are told, did you listen

With an ear, did you see?

Pray for mankind, share in my

Christmas dreams. Keith Garrett

MY WINTER PARADISE

Step into a dream, take yourself away,

So very far away,

Beyond what appears to be reality,

To a fantastic place.

A log house, built between snow-covered

Mountains,

Lost in a land, only imagined in a child’s

Mind, maybe.

Snow falling, a snowman comes to life,

Only here can he,

Reindeer walking about, speaking to

Elves as they vanish.

Inside, a fire burning, warm it does feel

To a freezing body,

A Christmas tree, high to the ceiling,

Decorated with lights.

Baking, in the kitchen, are many types

Of delicious foods,

Gingerbread cookies, cooling on the

Stove, what a scent.

Going sleigh riding through the

Frozen wooda of fantasy,

My winter paradise is created from

My heart and wishes.

I SING TO YOU FOR CHRISTMAS

I’ve walked through the snow, I’m

Here at your door,

The chill of cold moves through

Me as I ring the bell.

See you through the window,

Sitting by a roaring fire,

Do you know that I’m here,

The bell does not move you.

So, with a tune in my thoughts

And the sound of my voice,

I sing to you within my heart,

For Christmas.

Come to your door, O’ angel

Of this night, see me,

Listen to the sound of harps

And chimes speaking, listen.

To you, I give this gift of a song,

O’ may it teach your heart,

Tears of joy trickle down that

Pretty face, as now the door

Opens.

I sing to you for Christmas about

The snow floating on down,

I sing to you about love everlasting

That can never be taken away.

HARPS OF HEAVEN

Winter falls upon us, winds of cold blow,

Leaves have fallen from the now naked

Trees.

Thoughts of miracles are a snow falling

Dream,

Angels dance in the sky and comfort

The night.

Musical sound echoes from heaven,

The strumming of harps, harps of

Heaven.

Above the clouds, beyond the

Sparkling stars,

Where there is no cold, no sorrow

Day to day.

Play those harps, let the beauty of

Peace be heard,

Let the spirits rejoice as eternal

Life is beautiful.

Upon us are worldly pleasures,

Listen for the harps of heaven.

MYTHICAL GHOSTS

In our minds, do they live, exist, only

In our dreams?

Gaze out into the night, beyond the

Stars, in the dark.

Remember, as a child, you would put

A tooth under your pillow,

As you slept, a fairy would visit and

Replace it with riches.

Mother Nature, we do not see as a

Mortal, but live within her,

She is known by all with the changing

Seasons of time.

As you drift off into slumber, it is he

Who watches over,

A man who possesses a dreaming

Sand for a believer.

Grants does he, the gift of love so

Fine from an arrow,

Only imagine this ghost, as he

Is forever cupid.

He’s as old as the universe, he’s

Of the beginning,

He knows of life, the name is

Father time.

A cold sort of spirit, he exists

From a myth,

When the freeze of night comes,

Lives, does Jack Frost.

Eggs in a basket, colored and

Decorated for a child,

Jelly beans and treats from

An Easter Bunny not seen.

Last but not least, A jolly

Old man with a beard so white,

He gives to the world on Christmas

Eve, Santa Claus. Keith Garrett

THROUGH THE EYES OF A REINDEER

I travel across a wide open sky,

To a far-off land, I fly and fly.

If you are so lucky, maybe a

Glimpse of me,

As I pass over, where you are

To be.

The sound of bells is a warning

Well known,

Over your world, I have flown

And flown.

I am not so real to those without

Dreams,

Only in the heart of a child, it seems.

Through the eyes of a reindeer,

This tale is told,

To the young at heart, it will

Never grow old.

Keith Garrett

SO, THIS IS CHRISTMAS

December comes, winter is cold, winter

Makes its visit,

Leaves of yesterday are everywhere,

Spread across the land.

The frigid air settles over the

Mountains and lakes,

Frozen ground lies still as it’s

Traveled upon, slowly.

A whistling wind blows between

The trees, through time,

Creating an illusion that nature

Dances under the sky.

Christmas is here as we approach

The end of another year,

An aging world, an aging creation,

Join for this time so special.

Family and friends may share this time

Telling stories around a fire,

Decorating a tree, a kiss under the

Mistletoe, possibly.

So, this is Christmas, a time shared

With that special someone,

Miracles and wishes brought to

Life,

Dreams become real.

Merry Christmas, Keith Garrett

THE MAGIC OF CHRISTMAS

Do reindeer really fly? Watch for them

In the Christmas Eve sky,

Around the world, they soar, in a child’s

Mind or maybe yours.

Santa has lived at the North Pole for

Centuries, it has been told,

Do you think it’s true? Is Santa’s village

Somewhere secretly unknown?

I wonder if elves really visit our homes

In the dark of night? just one night,

Are they so little, with unusual outfits

Of color? Are they magical, do you

Think so?

If you wish upon the star so bright,

Resting at the top of the tree, Do

You believe?

Possibly, that dreams and wishes can

Come true, the magic of Christmas is

Seen.

Even if nothing of this can be possible

Or true, for just one moment, we’ll

Dream as we do,

For all to come together, peace

And happiness to be for a short time

Each year, worth the dream.

THROUGH THE WINDOW

Wandering down a road, I came

Upon a house, standing all alone,

It was lit up, with lights of many

Colors along the rooftop.

A winter’s night, blustery and cold

as could be,

There was a big, bright window,

Through the window, I could see.

A family of many, Grandpa and

Grandma in the kitchen, Grandma

Baking,

Laughing was Grandpa, taking a cookie

From a cookie jar. mother and father

helping the children decorate a big tree,

Things looked happy.

There’s the family pet barking and running

Around the house, tail wagging,

Through the window, there’s a loving,

Peaceful life, that’s the best gift of all.

A warm fire burning, dinner ready to be

Served at the table,

Through the window is the life I wish

For myself, a wish for all mankind,

Christmas is but once a year, may

Happiness be a lifetime.
