SHADOWS IN THE SNOW
STANDING IN THE SNOW
THIS IS WINTER
WHITE MOUNTAINS
WHITE MOUNTAINS
They stand so high, above water so cold and Icy,
Layered with white, powdery snow, stretched for miles.
Clouds rest over this land of Winter and such a quiet peace,
Although the wind blows across the chilly water and lonely
Mountain tops.
There are slopes of wet snow that melt and flow down into
a lake,
That when the sun shines on it, sparkles like shiny glass.
Icicles hang from ridges that have lived for some time,
Formed over centuries and in times mind,
Beautiful mountains, these white mountains.

THROUGH THE SNOW TO FIND YOU
THROUGH THE SNOW TO FIND YOU
An adventure for Winter, what a gift indeed,
I woke early to find that you were not there, anywhere.
A game to play, a map of directions, I will find you,
You wait in a special place, a cup of coffee, and my journey
Begins.
Bundled up for the occasion, ready to go, snow on the ground,
Your map takes me to a place not so far away, snow-covered
Hills.
It’s time to walk through the snow to find you, some clues to
This game,
A log sits beneath an oaktree I see, onward I march, closer
Always.
Through the trees, a map to guide my way, cold is the air,
Am I almost there,
Beyond these trees in front of me, A lake of ice, Around
It I go through the snow.
My eyes see in front of me, marks the spot, a cabin sits
Alone, chimney of smoke,
you stand at the door, through the snow I find you I did,
Map is my hand, here you stand.

THESE THINGS OF WINTER
THESE THINGS OF WINTER
The wind is blowing, the snow falling upon the ground,
Icicles hanging from where they cling, Winter is is in the air.
Woods are quiet, all full of snow, a sleigh ride for two
Around the trees,
Frozen lakes and frozen ponds, shadows early, the day is gone.
A fire so warm, a fire for two, crackling wood, and some eggnog too,
Frosty trees, chesnuts, a drink to warm the bones, candles lit
All aglow,
These things of Winter, so much more for the imagination to see.

THESE THINGS OF WINTER
WHEN THE SNOW FALLS
SNOW IN THE WOODS
Trees of Winter, Tall are they standing towards the sky,
Stripped of their leaves, naked in the breeze.
Around are few colors left from the Fall, Winter is now,
Clouds of cold beyond the quiet trees are waiting to snow.
Still are these woods, a sight of beauty,
Snow on the ground, a place to walk with a love,
Hand in hand.
Dreams and wishes thought of, created from your
Passion for life,
Snow in the woods, nature surrounds you every step,
It walks with you.
