MATERIAL THINGS

MATERIAL THINGS

We want, things we see of beauty are bought and gathered,

Valued by us are all these things of material, made up things.

Collect them as we grow, throughout our lives they are part of us,

We call them antiques, valuable items of great worth and money.

Stones of different names and types, a price is made, what’s of greatness,

Diamonds, rubies, and other gems, who was to say they are so important.

Material things to the world bring certain types of happiness, for how long,

To some these objects define who they are, people sitting up high or below the poor.

Always told over a lifetime that we can’t take it with us,

All of these earthly things, to heaven none can we bring.

MASTER OF THE SKY

MASTER OF THE SKY

I see you from here, from where It Is that I stand, soaring,

Wings spread far as you are the eyes In the sky, do you see.?

Yes! from these eyes down upon the world I do see, watching,

I soar with the wind as In heaven I do soar with all things.

Are you the master of man, these questions from my lips,

Master of the sky, please tell this seeking man why we must die.?

The thoughts In your mind are known by me, listen to your beliefs,

Why Is It you think you must die, In heaven, I give you eternal life.

I fear that death will take me and I’ll be forever lost, so alone,

Although I believe, how Is It that this mortal man might really know.?

Do you believe In heaven as the bible and lessons taught,

Do you believe In the lord and all that’s been created.?

I do believe, I know that I’m a child of God created by mother and father,

I know that you, Master of the sky will one day take me home to stay.

Put away your doubts, let go of your pain and sorrow, give them to me,

I am the master of the sky, creator of all that you know and more.

Have faith fore It will comfort you, trust In me, be at peace.

MAN IN THE SHACK

MAN IN THE SHACK

You can find him if you go far off into these hills,

Way back beyond the green grass and rocky slopes.

Oak trees of many years hide what has been here for a while,

Come closer so you can observe this shack built ages ago.

Once it may have been of fine wood as today it is withering away,

A home with no plumbing, no modern conveniences of the day,

The roof is worn, dried out from many days and nights of being here.

There lives in this shack a man, not a youthful man by any means,

Left in peace to live out his remaining days is this man in the shack.

We don’t know where he comes from or if he’s had a family, a wife, kids,

We do know that he’s had a life, this man in the shack has his story.

MADMAN FROM DETROIT

MADMAN FROM DETROIT

Once before but no more with the Amboy Dukes was he,

Ted’s his name, on the stage he was something to see.

Terrible Ted at times he was called

The words from his mouth were screams heard for sure.

Appeared to be crazy, he could speak very fast,

He wailed out his songs, now let’s bring them back.

His passion for hunting was as great as his act on the stage,

This madman from Detroit appeared to have such rage.

He rocked and he yelled, to all he would sing,

Don’t think anyone’s like him fore the energy he would bring.

A madman he was, and always will be, Ted Nugent.

I OFFER NO SURRENDER

” I OFFER NO SURRENDER”

You sit there princess on the shore, watching,

Passing by under a full moon, am I to far to touch.

The sea Is calm, quietly my boat sails’ on by,

Distant are you, away from me you stay, I wait.

Circle your world as my search does not end,

I offer no surrender, I fight through the dark of nights’.

Here you sit, an Image of Inner beauty so fine,

My eyes can only see what a heart lets’ It see, beauty.

LOST IN TROUBLE

LOST IN TROUBLE

I’ve been here before, in a deep struggle to figure things out,

Feeling as though I’m drowning, up to my chin, the water rises.

I look for someone to reach out and grab hold of my hand,

There’s nobody there, I’ll have to make it on my own, pull myself out.

Shout!, shout out loud but I’m the only soul who can hear,

Help is so very far away, fear is around to keep me company.

Lost in trouble, alone, so much alone, take me home,

When the answer’s unclear, loneliness seems to be an unwanted visitor.

I’ll lift this body of a man up and bellow to those who will listen,

Stop me you will not, in me a great source of power.

I’m feeling lost, an unwanted burden covers me, I’m troubled,

Watch as I rise and conquer the gift of a challenge.

LOST IN THE HOUSE

LOST IN THE HOUSE

An old house, enormous it is, built very long ago,

Fire was at one time the enemy as it created cries.

Today this house once an orphanage, a refuge for kids,

Rests nearly empty, quiet with cobwebs, something lingers.

They hang on, these three childish souls, where do they belong,

Their friend who did not perish as once they did lives on.

Again they would meet with the help of a special person,

These three could see and soon he would believe.

Time for all to let things go, broken hearts will now mend,

A final goodbye, some tears, he’ll see them soon, a journey for three.

LOSING FAITH

LOSING FAITH

Not in god have I lost my faith but in society, the human race,

Backstabbing liars, it may be that they are friend or foe.

Family, there can be nothing more Important or precious in life,

In the end, at times it is that strangers they’ve become, a tragedy it is.

The workplace, to give your heart and soul for such a long while,

No more words do they speak as their backs are turned on you.

Soon we’ll have no name, a number is all that remains, so Insane,

Around our world, deception, crime, and corruption never go away.

Losing faith, again not with God In heaven but in what Is called humanity,

Not about negativity or being of positive thoughts, something is wrong.

We are at the mercy of an entity, those we do not see, power and money Indeed,

There is no control for us the average mortal being, we live in the lion’s den.

LOOK AT THE MOUNTAIN

LOOK AT THE MOUNTAIN

Up so hight it stands watching over what’s below,

We look to it as something of a miracle.

What do you see when first you glance,

A statue of power still standing long after man.

Upon it lives trees that have grown through much of our history,

Left behind their mark of people who once were.

Streams and waterfalls created through time,

Shrubs and flowers for years grown by the rain that falls.

Look at the mountain, stare at it long,

Born from nature with a story to tell.

LOOK AT ME

LOOK AT ME

What do you see when you look at me,

I was once a young man, older I grow to be.

Lines on my face, hair has much changed,

Scars and wounds from a lifetime I’ve seen.

Thoughts and visions, a movie feature in my head,

I’ve changed with the changes that this world brings.

Look at me as I still live and breathe,

I’m forever me but a different me.
