LIGHTNING

LIGHTNING

Lightning strikes in many ways,

When bad is done from a humans hands,

Lightning strikes, you get what you give.

Whether it be of evil or meanness, a message from God,

Lightning strikes hard,

A message, will you understand.?

Lightning strikes the hand of the not so kind man,

Destruction and life taken,

A mysterious force touches this land.

LIGHT THROUGH DARKNESS

LIGHT THROUGH DARKNESS

To our lives, there does exist a different darkness,

When the light of day disappears there is dark of night,

Lasts does it as we slumber until the morning light.

We see the light through darkness as we awake once more,

Darkness of another kind can fill the heart and mind.

Fall into a darkened world through pain and many hurts,

We pray for peace and strength to bring ourselves back,

Step into the light through darkness, we are home again.

LIGHT IN THE WINDOW

LIGHT IN THE WINDOW

Each night as the sun goes down, darkness visits a sleepy town,

A usual stroll through the streets brings peace before dreams.

What’s noticed from a man’s eyes within the blackness is a window,

A dark building shows off the faint light that glows from behind a shade.

As I pass by every night along my route of walking I wonder about the light,

Who might be there beyond the walls surrounding this one and only window?

Always seems so quiet, could there be laughter or singing on the other side,

Someone quietly reading a book, dreaming of what’s out there in the world,

Beyond their window, do they wonder of things that are a mystery to them?

Is there a possible sadness that wanders around inside, whom might hide,

A name must be attached to a soul with a life, only a light in the window is seen.

LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL

LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL

Some walk in darkness and that doesn’t have to be a blind man,

What consumes a soul may be of danger or unhappiness.

Sickness in the world, so much is discovered,

Body or mind, scars of time are worn on the inside.

We all want what we think is needed,

There’s nothing wrong with living in happiness.

Material desires, beautiful things to be surrounded with,

A man or woman works hard for what is earned.

In the end, just keep a thought that there’s no taking it with you,

As a whole, we are squeezing every bit of energy and life,

This place we call home is being poisoned in every way.

Whose in charge of its healing,? we are,

The light at the end of the tunnel is our eternal peace.

LIFE ITSELF

LIFE ITSELF

It started for us each our own day, a life ahead in our own way,

We carve a path, a road we make to walk that ends when God will say.

Life itself is so incredible, mysterious, with laughter and tears along the way,

What are we supposed to learn as we go from childhood and beyond long lost days?

We say hello and then a day comes to say goodbye, In between it is we who share our lives,

We cry when we are happy, tears are shed upon our faces when a goodbye is said in many ways.

The cycle carries on as we grow from a child and watch as our children become adults, we get older,

Our parents go from what was once younger to a place of fragileness then disappear into eternity.

Our children have children as we slowly follow a certain path, someday too again join family,

Why is it we have to be saddened by so many different goodbyes throughout this gift of a life?

LIFE AGAIN

LIFE AGAIN

I begin again, standing here in front of a blank sign post,

A new road to travel, take a first step down a path unknown.

Chances are many and I’ll find my way beyond this piece of life,

More is there as I travel down this road into the rest of my life.

Dreams continue as I let go of what is now a yesterday of emotion,

Life again, places and things to be discovered again, life again is new.

LET THE BROKEN HEART LOVE AGAIN

LET THE BROKEN HEART LOVE AGAIN

Piece by piece, searched for and gathered Into a lonely pile,

Many moons’ rising and sunsets’ past, wanting of love once more.

A heart broken but mends’ as one seeks to again hold her In his arms’,

A kiss that waits’ for that special one, a love that once was, his love.

Let the broken heart love again, waste not the love that Is, she Is,

Let her heart love once again, a man who says’ no goodbyes.

Take these two hearts’ and let their beats’ cry out a warm felt sound,

Listen as the wind laughs’ through the hills’, hear their life’s’ song.

You’ve enriched a life with your presence, this moment In time,

Carry those encouraging lessons’ of care and love until his end.

You are there as you are also here, always In a prayer,

You live In his heart, let him be In yours’.

LET ME PRETEND

LET ME PRETEND

I am somewhere else, far away from this,

The only sound is of birds in the trees happily.

The crime filled streets and sirens are not with me,

There are no voices of thought to ruin my day I say.

Everything is much louder in the real world today,

Peace seems like a rare, lost, gift that will never be again.

Let me pretend that I am not here where there lives trash and fear,

A little bit better, just for a moment, let me pretend.

LET ME LIVE!

LET ME LIVE!

Listen to the drummers beat, bang the drums slowly,

Steal it does something each day from deep inside.

The mind is a powerful machine of its own,

It tears at my body as it haunts my soul.

There’s a force, an invisible monster that seeks me,

The toll it takes on my everyday can only be imagined if not experienced.

A spirit weakened as the fight lingers on to survive,

Let me live!, I want to stay alive.

My place of thought will only take so much in before

It can handle no other struggles,

Shut down it will and cease to see a world.

Let me live! as I am not asking,

My statement has been made,

I know who you are, they call you panic!.

LEGENDS OF THE OLD WEST

LEGENDS OF THE OLD WEST

They came from a time chosen for them,

Became that which they were from many circumstances.

Right or wrong, bad or good, these are the legends of the old west,

The men and women whom survived as they did.

From Wyatt Earp to the Dalton gang, these names,

Doc Holliday and Calamity Jane, once walked.

Bat Mastersen, Buffalo Bill Cody, and wild Bill Hicock,

Men of the old west, a different time and place.

Annie Oakley, or General George Custer, another two,

Frank and Jesse James robbing banks and trains.

Billy the Kid at a young age killed a few,

Pat Garrett the sheriff shot him down.

From the Alamo they fought and died, back in time,

Jim Bowie did fight, Davey Crockett no longer alive.

Sitting bull and Geronimo, Cochise, Indians of stories,

Were a different breed, lived and died as they believed,

Legends of the old west, stories in time.
