LEAVE ME ALONE

I’m scared, I saw him one night, eyes of fright,

He was a tall man with big hands.

Why he chose me I don’t know, he’s been following,

The only reason that I know this is because he’s

Leaving things.

Things that I would understand but how he knew

Scares me to death,

Material pieces of my life, who is he and why is he

Doing this to me.

He’s been in my yard, at my workplace, and the most

Horrible thing is, i know he’s been in my house,

When will it stop, what does this most terrifying

Man want with me?

Leave me alone! I know you’re there, watching,

It’s you! oh my God, it’s you! I didn’t know, now I know!

HALLOWEEN MAN

                                                                HALLOWEEN MAN

His hate for October began a lifetime ago, he was a boy,

A father loved so dear, did this night destroy a child’s life?

Learned of a father’s death, a fall from a cliff on a dark night,

He had to believe that another was responsible, too much pain.

Years passed by as this boy grew older, only Halloween haunts his night,

Something has changed, no longer in his right mind, he’s on his way.

Revenge for him makes no sense to the sane mind, evil, he’s become,

Kill he does, those who would wear masks on a cold, October night.

His father did not come home on a long ago Autumn night, he also died,

He is the Halloween man, once a year he terrorizes all who he can.

 IT HAPPENED IN AMESBURY

Fall came, whistling of the wind through the trees,

Temperatures dropped as leaves floated to the ground.

Halloween comes again to a small eastern town,

I lived there once as a child, the fear was not in my sight,

Remember do I laying on my parent’s bed on a moonlit night.

I recall a noise, something nearby, echoing in the woods,

Scared was I as I thought I was dreaming in the night.

Young was I but hearing a neighbor screaming nearby,

Listening as sounds of frantic people traveled all around.

No trace of a woman, just a shadowy figure running between

The trees,

It happened in Amesbury, Massachusetts, disappeared one by one,

Something of a monster, In the woods never could be found.

A SAD CLOWN

                                         A SAD CLOWN

A smile on his face, frown lives underneath,

Watch the children laugh at this simple clown on the street.

An entertainer of fun and laughs, for a small price you pay,

That’s what you may think until his chuckle lures you away.

A clown of mischief, there’s more to him than meets the eye,

When the sun goes, wicked and mean, he’ll make you scream.

A sad clown indeed, covered under a mask of makeup, a monster is he,

He’ll dance for you and maybe throw confetti around, kill

Does this sad clown.

Ride a small bike, juggle in the air, follow you through the park,

Death everywhere,

Big, funny, shoes, baggy pants not so neat, not just a clown,

Never want to meet.

THEY DON’T COME BACK

There is a place in the woods where a legend waits,

Told of this year after year but does anyone really listen?

It’s Fall now, a blanket of leaves slowly covers the ground,

Dark it is even in the day as there are many trees touching the sky.

A thick fog forms this time of year, it lingers until morning’s light,

A person can get lost here, not a place to venture among what

Can’t be seen.

They will all not listen to this tall tale and dare step into a nightmare,

Camp here they will on a night filled with fright, did not listen

Did not listen and they don’t come back.

 “THE PUMPKINS”

We dress them up,  give them different facial expressions,

Eyes of fright, a mouth with sharp teeth that perhaps can chew.

A nose, many different shapes that possibly smell blood and fear,

“The Pumpkins”  we put them out on the porch, light them up with fire.

Leave them out at night in the cold, animals eat them in the dark,

They are destroyed by prowlers that walk in the night, a surprise this night.

They have had enough, you gave them a face, a personality, they have anger,

Tonight is their Halloween,  after you go to bed they take over your lives.

They become you, in the morning you rest on the porch, a pumpkin,

Their faces are now yours, you now wear the expressions you gave them.

EYES IN THE NIGHT

                                      EYES IN THE NIGHT

What is it that lives beyond the light of day,

Lurks, wanders in the dark, exists in the night.

Search for food, a task that’s taken much for granted,

While we slumber in silence, eyes in the night survive.

Many are they that fly, quietly on the prowl this night,

Over fences, there are the ones that move carefully, slowly.

Crawling along the ground, there’s a fight to see the morning light,

Scraps of food, Nourishment for a chance to do it all over again.

So many eyes in the night, traveling along, the hunter or the hunted,

Big over the small, stronger defeats the weak, faster may just escape,

Eyes in the night, for many could be a scary sight, on this dark night.

TRAPPED IN BETWEEN

                                        TRAPPED IN BETWEEN

She thought it was a dream, no one could hear her screams,

Not in a state of life or death, but trapped in between.

In a world of nothing, a place where there was no sense,

She knew fear, was there a way to escape?

This was not to be a dream, was she dead, trapped in between,

She could see and breathe there was no path,

No clue as to which way to go, was she in hell?

Was she dead or alive or just a nightmare inside,

Wake her from her torment or send her off to heaven.

Trapped in between is surely not a wonderful dream,

All by herself, only the echoes of her dreams.

WHEN THE MOON RISES, I AM HUNTED

WHEN THE MOON RISES, I AM HUNTED

They’re expecting to see a full moon tonight,

This will be a nightmare like no other.

Where I am I have not a clue, not a rational understanding

Of any of this,

I’m a prisoner here, a man trapped in some kind of hell.

All I remember is camping with my friends by a lake,

I went to sleep and woke up in this dark place.

The only thing I can see is tall trees, still with not even

A breeze blowing,

There is no sky up there only a thick smell in the air.

I don’t know who or what keeps me here, but they’re here

And you can just feel the evil that they bring with them.

Never do I see them but they let me know in my thoughts,

They let me feel the horror of what is to be when the moon rises.

Others have been here before in this same place of doom.

I don’t know how I know, perhaps they want me to know.

There’s terror in me now, a horrible feel of an ending for me,

They whisper to me in my mind, an insane laughter they have.

This is a game they play but not in our world,

Oh my God! they hunger for flesh, when the moon rises I am hunted.

They set me free, in my desperation I take off into the darkness,

There’s no place to hide, I don’t know where I am but I know I’m

Not alone.

Looking up I can now see a full moon rising between the trees,

I am hunted, they’re coming, They’re seeking only me.

Inside I can feel every fear I’ve ever had, are they doing it,

I’m sick now in my stomach and mind.

Looking ahead of me, I can see it, there it is! the lake,

I run, and run, I stumble and fall, I keep falling,

I awake in a hospital, I’ve been in a coma.

FROM THE DARKNESS

                                                          FROM THE DARKNESS

There’s a sound, stare, into the darkness,

Footsteps are there, listen to the crunching of leaves.

What’s in the dark, can you see that it’s real,

Does it watch you as you try to see, can it smell your fear?

From the darkness it moves closer, but much too dark,

Out of the darkness, it is you who can not step.

Feel it as you know it is there, you know that it stares,

Your eyes are open but only for you, darkness is everywhere.

What is it that haunts the one who lives in the dark,

Could it be all the sounds you do not see?

From the darkness, you can not wander,

From the darkness, you can not be.
