AT TIMES I AM BLIND

AT TIMES I AM BLIND

Open your eyes!, this is said from with inside as I seem at times blind,

There is so much to see but I must confess that what is important sometimes escapes my sight.

A blind man can not physically see but learns to observe more than a man with vision,

A man with no sight asked of me, tell me young man what things with your eyes do you see.

There are at times many things I wish not to see, pain and destruction from the world today,

What I asked was that which you see not a thing about wishes or that which you do want to see.

I see the mountains, the ocean, the sky, and all there is of beauty that god placed down upon the earth,

Yes!, at times I am blind to all of these things just as they are taken for granted by most every man.

You are a blind man, so who do you think you are trying to give me a lesson or to teach me,

Young man, are you a follower of those whom are of negative ways?, take responsibility for yourself.

I am blind but in my time I have seen so much more than your seeing eyes can ever dream,

You are at times very blind, your eyes are open but it is a mans mind that is truly closed.

JUDGEMENT HAS A FACE

JUDGEMENT HAS A FACE

From behind a door, walking down a street, who are they?

They wander around, they look without a friendly sound.

With paper and pen, not a friend as they may smile but pretend,

Watched you are as you walk, speak, examined over a way you dress.

Judge me with your thoughts but what is there to see in you?

I am judged by those whom I never again see, strangers, some family.

Judgement has a face, not the same as it changes from day to place,

We are judged with the rotation of our world, travels with the wind.

INTO THE WIND

INTO THE WIND

I met a girl named Leah, she was from Nebraska,

It was certainly not the promised land nor her paradise.

Out in the street is a real world, you have to walk the line,

This life can be a great thing, a leap of faith is needed.

We went to the zoo and saw the Lions den,

The last carnival of the Summer was today.

I always thought my best was never good enough,

With Leah this depression of mine was gone.

Life itself was now wonderful, the light of day was magic,

We are alive! no more a lonesome day.

We went off to find our lucky town together,

My city of ruins is now left behind.

It’s the price you pay for decisions made,

We’re livin’ in the future now, one step up.

I’ve learned to have love of the common people,

Walk like a man my father would say.

I asked her, let’s be friends, skin to skin,

If we part then we won’t say the long goodbye.

The fever I got was now gone, I got medicine from a place open all night,

I told her you’re missing the moonlight, watch with me.

AS LONG AS WE’RE TOGETHER

AS LONG AS WE’RE TOGETHER

Once in a while I travel back in time to a place I walked,

Through my time of youth where I played and ran wild.

I knew of her as a child back in the day of mischief,

Young and full of energy were we, never seemed to be tired.

The heat from the Summer sun wasn’t so harsh at that age,

Growing up in a town of many friends and memories so great.

We lived for the moment as many moments would pass by into the future,

How is it that the grandparents we once had we have now become.?

We changed and went our separate ways, finding our way in this strange world,

Becoming parents, having children and grandchildren as the cycle goes.

Full circle as today we find ourselves in the same place after a lifetime apart,

As long as we’re together nothing else matters, time comes when we need to

Just think of ourselves and let all others live and move along into their future.

As long as we’re together, everything will forever be better.

AND THEN THERE WERE NONE

AND THEN THERE WERE NONE

A fight for survival, mans quest for power to rule,

Fear and ignorance but money will be the tool.

Inventors of destruction, builders of a force,

The enemy is our brother, traitor to the land.

Which side are we on, who is on our side,

Conflict and hatred, how many must have to die.?

And then there were none, not much left to say,

Put the bombs away, we may have another day.

A WAND OF MAGIC

A WAND OF MAGIC

In hand, a wand would make me a magic man,

Not even a word and crime would disappear.

I could stop time, rid the world of trash or pollution,

Take away the sick waters of rivers and oceans.

Murder on our land would be stopped with a hand,

The ill would be no more, cancer but a memory.

I could run fast or jump high,

A tear would be one less for all of mankind.

The cruel slaughter of creatures in the world,

With a wave from my hand, this would end.

A wand of magic need not be that of evil,

For love and good, the hand that holds this wand.

A wand of magic is not to be real,

We can wish, hope, and pray, that it all goes away.

A VIEW WORTH SEEING

A VIEW WORTH SEEING

Fortunate if you are to see through the darkness,

For granted do not take the gift of light, always night.

Scenes and visions from the mind are wonderful at times,

To open your eyes and nothing rests in your sight a fright.

A view worth seeing comes to the grateful eyes day or night,

The morning light with the birds beautiful in your sight.

Wherever you go a picture of color awaits, always changing,

Each day a different view, open your eyes to a view worth seeing.

A STRANGER

A STRANGER

Cobwebs and tumbleweeds, traces of life and the past,

A forgotten road not so often traveled, not anymore.

Where do they go, the ones we once knew and walked with,

More and more they become ghosts, faded faces from yesterday.

Time slips away slowly into my tomorrow where my memories are found,

Friends are now strangers, strangers are now my friends.

There once lived a woman whom I did not know. she lived her life without me,

In her there was not a thought of me, for me she had no meaning.

This stranger that I had not met would someday be the love a man could not forget,

Like the wind forever blowing, she has drifted, a stranger I never knew.

Where did you go! where did you go! a stranger I love, a woman I’ll never know.

A SONG FOR YOU

A SONG FOR YOU

I’ve been lost in a far off land, baby, baby, where will I stand,

Away from you is not so fine, where’s my home, this I cannot find.

Listen to me darling and understand, I feel lonely without your hand,

Sweet little angel do you know, I love you, love you, where did you go.?

I found a place for you and me, far away from the lonely streets,

Remember my face from days gone by, do you understand why I cry.?

I wonder if you can hear this voice, the sound will echo through the night,

You are the one and you know who I am, under the stars, here I stand.

You gave me love and now I’ve lost my mind, I write you stories from inside,

A voice in my head and your pretty smile, dance with me darling for just awhile.

I dream that this is a song for you, dream with me baby, dream it’s true,

Dream with me, this is a song for you.

A SIMPLE MIND, A HEART SO PURE

A SIMPLE MIND, A HEART SO PURE

He lived a life of dreams, the world was a strange place,

A boy so different to others, he learned to run away.

A simple mind, called stupid for the way he saw things,

A girl he would befriend, under a big Oak tree they would swing.

A simple mind, a heart so pure belonged to this thinking man,

He saw all things in such a simple manner, a gentle soul.

Time would take him full circle back to where he started,

He would love, lose, and then love again, a girl on a swing.

A child of his own, married did he this love from childhood,

He had everything to share, sickness would take his love away,

A simple mind, a heart so pure would bury his wife under that Oak tree of before.
