I’M YOUR WICKED UNCLE ERNIE

                               I’M YOUR WICKED UNCLE ERNIE

Never can you see me, I’m certainly there always,

Watching as you do the things that you do, my nephew.

I’m everywhere and nowhere, In the shadows I lurk,

In the dark of night hiding close by, sometimes close

Enough to touch.

If you could see me you’d know there’s a very bad man

That exists inside, and one who is waiting and seeking you.

When bedtime comes near and sleep falls upon you,

Under your bed or your closet, I’ll make my hiding place.

Being blind is not a good thing for you as I am here,

Unfortunately your parents left me here to watch over you.

It’s Halloween night and I’ll be handing out candy to all

Your little friends until this fun night comes to an end.

We’ll be all alone, it’s just you and me in the dark,

Much fear you will soon learn about I’m your wicke

Uncle Ernie, and that’s what you’ll find out.

I AWAIT MIDNIGHT

                                                                  I AWAIT MIDNIGHT

I sit and wait for the clock to strike twelve,

So that I may leave this cage I’m trapped in.

Out into the night is where all hell lives in pain,

Escape do I from a place of my own torment

To seek out what has destroyed my spirit and soul,

It’s out there somewhere hiding in the night,

This thing that haunts me hides in a dark, dark, world.

I await midnight for reasons not known in my mind,

To go out there and find this monster, this stalker

That makes not a sound, has no body, but hurts me

In many ways.

Why do I seek it out, this invisible force,

It laughs at what it does, it finds me.

“HALLOWEEN”

                                                         HALLOWEEN,

This night is dark, so much to see,

All spirits among us, they search for you and me.

As the wind howls through the trees and hills,

The terror grows more, in our hearts it fills.

Look to the sky, search for the moon,

Watch as it grows, fore something comes really soon.

All things to believe on All Hallow’s Eve,

Feel the fright in you, there’s no way to leave.

The Goblins and Ghouls steal the souls,

Of fools out on this night, as the dead come out of their holes.

One night of the year on Halloween,

Your imagination will haunt you, all fear can be seen.

Ghosts all around you, on a cold, stormy, night,

Keep an eye open for the thing that will bite.

As lightning strikes into your sight,

Bats fly above, Oh! what a night.

Alone in your mind with what’s real or fake,

It seems like a dream, are you asleep or awake?

The creatures are coming, yet you don’t hear a sound,

There’s a smell all around, does it fume from the ground?

Now starting to rain on this eerie Halloween night,

Death sneaks up on you, only darkness, no sign of light.

A cold shiver goes up your spine,

You sense in the fog that nothing is fine.

Turning around to see that it’s me,

No longer alone but lost it is we.

We need to get back to where it began,

Our thoughts and our fears, alive if we can.

Now it’s morning, slowly you awake,

Cold, wet, and dirty, was this all a dream?

I hope for our sake.

TONIGHT’S THE NIGHT

Today is Halloween, hour by hour before the sun sets,

Tonight is a night of many schemes, many screams.

They lurk behind the scenes, they watch from their

windows of criminal activity,

They appear friendly as they roam the streets.

They wait for their moment of evil things,

Bad people, minds with thoughts of unusual deeds.

They come from anywhere as the clock ticks away.

Tonight’s the night when they walk the night,

Spreading the horror that kills with fright.

They may be anyone who crosses your path,

A call on the phone or a knock at your door.

They peek in windows, they drive on past,

In the darkness, someone will be a victim of

This Halloween fest,

Tonight’s the night! don’t turn out the lights.

HALLOWEEN

                                                                      HALLOWEEN

That eerie night when the moon is full and bright,

When darkness falls upon the land, they come out.

Magic and wicked spells are a fantasy or not,

When at the stroke of midnight a witch is seen

Flying on her broomstick across the moon.

A night when the wind howls and the trees seem

To come to life,

Casting their shadows from the bewitching moonlight.

Vampires and ghouls are brought to life,

Monsters of evil on this again Halloween night.

Black cats lurk in the dark, listen for their sound,

Goblins and mummies, curses from the ground.

Until the stroke of twelve, all is not well,

Howling at the moon, a werewolf somewhere dwells,

Halloween, is it only Halloween?

IN THE MIRROR

                                                                  IN THE MIRROR

The morning came, as I got out of bed to the cold surroundings,

Headed to the bathroom as is usual, to an opened medicine cabinet.

I closed it not really wondering why it was opened and brushed

My teeth,

Quiet was the morning as I thought I heard my own voice speaking.

Imagination working, I thought to myself, again but it was calling me,

An eerie, long, whisper, perhaps a bit tired as I rationalized the moment.

Walking away I stopped and turned swearing I saw something in the mirror,

My skin crawled so I moved fast towards the door to get outside.

There was no one to tell because it would be I the crazy one indeed,

Whatever it was did exist, at least in the mind of a man now afraid.

I had to go back in there to see, to find out if it was real, was I crazy,

It wasn’t expected but when I looked in the mirror he as I now call him.

It was there staring at me, eyeing me, a tiny sort of a being.

My heart seemed to stop as he pointed to his face, I was in shock,

I now understood that he was me, in the mirror I now could see.

ONE A.M.

                                              ONE A.M.

When they come they come in force, from somewhere,

From everywhere they surround and take whatever is found.

These things that they are never do you want to meet,

Their hearts are of black, you are nothing more to them

Then can be used.

There is no mercy shown when they lay their claws upon you,

Lock your doors, you already know that every year at one A.M.

On Halloween, it is them who come from some place of mystery.

Horrible to you but to them a feast on this night after the

Midnight hour,

Hide as you do where they can not see as they will not search for you.

For the foolish, the ones who don’t believe or don’t think it will

Happen again,

At one A.M.  if you are within sight then on this night you will

Have no more life.

CLOWNS IN THE DARK

                                                CLOWNS IN THE DARK

They were always supposed to be funny, at the circus

Doing tricks,

Making children laugh, adults who were so young, believing.

They wear many different expressions to hide what’s really

Inside,

Appear do they friendly in the daylight but in the coming days

Of October, faces of clowns in the dark only faces in the night.

On a cool, crisp, October, days before Halloween, I went walking,

A breeze in the air as it is now Fall and the days are much shorter.

Passing by the park as I heard a scream from somewhere I could

Not see,

Laughter echoed through the swaying trees, from a distance

A face known to me.

Not like before as a child sees a clown, a quick, evil stare

As he ran away,

Left behind was something that can’t be erased from my mind.

Night after night they became more and more, just one face

the same,

Clowns in the dark who wear not the faces of fun but of

Their pain,

Revenge, clowns from all time, wreak havoc in the night,

No reasons why.

   I’LL SHOW YOU FEAR

Make no mistake, it is I who is the dangerous,

You’ve pushed much too hard, the anger is serious.

Understand that it is I with the ace in my hand,

The power you possess is very little my friend.

Never push buttons unless you know what they’re for,

You are not the hunter but the hunted.

Nothing is as it seems fore you are the weak,

You can only talk, not a man with two feet.

The face you wear is a pathetic sight,

Better a mask you wear to hide the haunting you fear.

You’re known to me, I see what you are,

I’ll show you fear, look in the mirror,

I’ll show you fear if you go too far or get too near.

A SPELL ON THE 31ST

A lying man’s tongue just freshly hung,

The eyes of a murderer taken for fun.

Hands from a thief cut from his arms,

A foot of the dead one found in the woods.

Head of a bat, hair from the wolf,

An evil soul dug up from its hole.

A thought from the wicked one whom

Has not a conscience,

Into the pot, the greed of anyone.

A piece of the cheating heart, those who hold,

One spoken word, a lie in the world.

All that is bad stirred into the pot,

A spell on the 31st will be cast after dark.
