FROM HERE TOO THERE
I stroll backwards down the road of time, too a place where the years hide,
I am a searcher of lost things, they exist only in memory, in a dream.
Back there was left a piece of my heart, take my hand, help me find,
Show me a way too close the door, move forward into my life.
I saw you all in sleepless night dreams, you did not age, not for me,
I see your faces on a magical screen, still the same pictures from my mind.
From here too there, I’ ve traveled back to the past, I see this today,
Where did you go young lady as I wandered my world, disappeared.
Your words are heard, no voice, written to read, thoughts for my day,
From then too now is where it is I stand, from here too there, take my hand.

THE VIGILANTE
A peaceful man, calm was he with a smile so bright,
Until they took his wife then his daughter’s life.
His world was turned inside out, nothing will be the same,
His name is known within the business world, the nights are his.
A man who did have a family, now he takes the lives of them whom take,
His life is much different now, days of a regular citizen, nights of vengeance.
He now lives within himself, with the pain he inflicts upon the evil that brings pain,
He is the vigilante, a good man who had enough of bad people in a crazy world.

FROM HEAVEN CAN YOU HEAR ME?
I look to the sky, can you see me through the clouds,
I’m standing here lord, what shall i do to make it today.?
From my eyes there are many tears that flow to no end,
In this body it is my heart that cries for your help to ease my sorrow.
Stand by me when my loneliness is much more than i can bare,
Take away this pain and anger that lives in my soul as i move forward.
Take from me these nightmares that visit when i sleep, Oh! please,
Let me rest as my body feels so very tired from this plight.
From heaven can you hear me, do you know who i am,
Will you listen as i ask for your guiding hand.?

FROM A LONG TIME AGO
I lived lifetimes ago on farmland worked with hands, a man’s hands,
A family we were, my wife, children, and animals for pets, back in time.
Possibly I went by the name of sam, a man of principles, of beliefs,
My children may have been raised to believe in the lord, to respect.
If a wife i did have then she might have been a beautiful woman,
She would have been a great cook and a fine and descent person.
Imagine there would have been much love in our home,
Working hard from sunrise till sunset would have been this family.
Friends and neighbors with names now vanished into a memory,
A town that may have existed but no longer alive, a long time ago.
I may have been known as sam from a long time ago, maybe so,
Land i may have owned and worked my fingers to the bone.
It’s possible this man of beliefs had a family that he loved so much,
I could have had children of which grew up and had families too.
To a man named sam who may have lived a long time ago,
Whom may have lived with a loving wife, children, and had
Many caring and good friends, if i had known you from a long time ago.

Source: I DREAMED I WAS A CHILD
FROM A CHILD’S MIND
The innocence of a child, we can see it everyday while they run and play,
Close your eyes and think back, think hard to a place where once you were young.
Thinking as only a child may think and imagine the world as the perfect playground,
For the average, dreaming, child death is a lie, an imaginary story in a scary book.
Fairytales are a reality like living forever or as i did believe one hundred years was life,
As a young boy I would lay down on the sidewalk feeling the warmth of the sun,
Listening to the airplanes fly high in the sky with my eyes closed, pretending many things.
From a child’s mind it is a world of magic, rainbows, and that anything is possible exists,
Energy of a different kind is possessed, energy that an adult one day can not again find.
From a child’s mind most things are simple, reason or logic has no place in their magical space,
The innocence and magic of a child will suddenly disappear into the adult world where the
Reality of survival, racism, hatred, and war will soon take their long ago Innocence far away.

FROM 18 UNTIL THIS DAY
Much younger was I back when the sun rose much higher in the sky,
Still but a teenager as once a thought that i might have been a man.
When I was eighteen i was going to the beach, dreaming about life ahead,
Long blonde hair and searching for that always wanted Summer tan.
The sun begins to move west and I go beyond those teen years,
I follow the sun, it looks down upon me each morning then i chase it.
I walk the road, I live my life, the sun travels further than i can run,
The more i follow then the older i seem, i have dreamed, no more eighteen.
I am older than some friends once were, older than a father gone far away,
From 18 until this day I have changed in different ways, the sun now half way.

“FRIENDS”
Do you recall your first friend, do you know them today,
Did they disappear with childhood and drift beyond another day.
I had a friend, a lifetime ago, back when i was only four, i remember,
His name was Donnie, glasses, a Winter cap, a long time ago friend.
Where is he today, no longer a child, i would not know him anyway,
A picture frozen in my mind, he will stay young for the rest of my life.
Kenneth, James, David, and cotero, i think of them from Kindergarten,
A boy named Grover, we were just little boys, innocence of a time now over.
Remember those friends from life’s morning until the night of your life,
So many names but special ones we think about as we travel along,” friends.”
Think of someone you once knew, take a moment, go back to your special place,
I think it’s suppose to be this way, a reason we go through phases and changes.
There are times when friends must be left behind, some with us for a lifetime,
Remembering friends who are out there somewhere, do they remember.?

FRIENDS FOR A LIFETIME
When old friends look at each other what do they see,
Old men and women or still in junior high as once they would be?
Life long friends and companions see that same young smile,
Those same bright eyes as once when you were a child.
Strangers see strangers as just another person, maybe old,
We see one another the same just as we were so long ago.
You may see us as old but what we see are friends of youth,
Friends for a lifetime, we see faces that we have forever known.
