CHILD WITHIN

                             CHILD WITHIN

Run and run until the day was done, fun in the sun,

Not a care, chasing butterflies within the wind.

A book that's numbered beginning with one until it's
  Done,

I played in the sun, playing and laughing with children
  Nomore.

A child with adult that would one day find a way out,

Child within, the older we get always seeking a part
  We once were.

Our faces do change, lines appear in the light, older
  By night,

Hair turns color as the seasons turn into years, eyes
  Show more.

One less fear, a new one is here, another tear, dried
  With the years,

I see where I've been, we all walk our ongoing road,
  We have a child within.

THE ICE CREAM MAN

                           THE ICE CREAM MAN

On a hot, sunny, day travel through your
  Neighborhood I do,

Driving My white truck blasting a tune, a
Quarter will get it for you.

The music is my warning, like a drug it turns
  Children into addicts,

They run screaming across their yards, someone
  Please give me some money.

Chase me they do, watch them run under the
  Summer sun,

Give up they will not, waiving treasure from their
  Hands for a treat.

I am the ice cream man, listen to my music, and for
A price an Ice cream in hand,

Snow cones, popsicles, fudge bars, and more, my
Little truck is an Ice cream store,

Listen for the music, it will make your mind spin, I'm
The Ice cream man so dig in.

FOR THIS RANCH, WILL YOU DIE?

FOR THIS RANCH, WILL YOU DIE?

This place of beauty has stood here for generations,

Built by a great, great, Grandfather a long time ago.

Times have changed in this world around a ranch,

The fight to keep what is yours has been since time began.

You battle, climb the hill with sweat and tears, for this ranch,

Family before you have sacrificed in ways you can't
  Understand,

What does your heritage mean to you? will you die if they
  Try to take your home?

For this ranch, will you die? will you shed a tear for those
  Who bled before your time?

BETWEEN THE TREES

                               BETWEEN THE TREES

From the road I step beyond, into another world,

Peaceful beauty is waiting as my morning begins.

No one here but me and whatever lives between the trees,

Listen to the birds high above, what types sing different
  songs?

I step into the darkened forest with my feet crunching the
  Aged leaves,

Quiet sounds are everywhere, things not seen, look close as
  They are to be.

Shadows move with the swaying branches just as they move
  with time,

Between the trees there is a most colorful, landscape to take in,
  Follow me.

There is life here that has stood for many generations, beyond
  History,

Between the trees, so many men and women have dreamed,
  All things seen.

JUDGMENT HAS A FACE

                         JUDGMENT HAS A FACE

From behind a door, walking down a street, who
  Are they,

They wander around, they look without a friendly
  sound.

With paper and pen, not a friend as they may smile
  But pretend,

Watched you are as you walk, speak, examined over
  A way you dress.

Judge me with your thoughts but what is there to see
  In you,

I am judged by those whom I never again see, strangers,
  Some famil.

Judgment has a face, not the same as it changes from
  Day to place,
.
We are judged with the rotation of our world, travels
  With the wind.

A VIEW WORTH SEEING

                   A VIEW WORTH SEEING

Fortunate if you are to see throught the darkness,

For granted do not take the gift of light, always night.

Scenes and visions from the mind are wonderful at times,

To open your eyes and nothing rests in your sight a fright.

A view worth seeing comes to the grateful eyes day or night,

The morning light with the birds beautiful in your sight.

Wherever you go a picture of color awaits, always changing,

Each day a different view, open your eyes to a view worth
  Seeing.

BETWEEN WHAT IS AND WHAT IS NOT

BETWEEN WHAT IS AND WHAT IS NOT

The universe exists all around us but do aliens really
  Exist,

We can see the sun resting in the sky, no pot of gold
  Over a rainbow.

Mountains formed, standing above so tall, not a bigfoot
  Between the trees,

The moon is for us a reality, no face or a man lives up
  There alone.

Ireland and green grass are for real, across the sea they
  Do appear,

Leprechauns I have never seen, four leaf clovers bring luck
  In a dream.

Castles of old stand on many lands, stories of them, for
  C,enturies are told,

Magical spells and fire breathing dragons, were they ever
  Seen or felt?

Between what is and what is not are fables and tall tales
  Handed down,

Fantasies and all that is real live in our minds or before
  Us We see.

BENEATH THE AUTUMN SKY

                    BENEATH THE AUTUMN SKY

From up so high life goes on down below,
  This is so,

It is seen from above, from the heaven where
  We are to go.

Beneath the Autumn sky, everything lives and
  Has its time,

There's a cycle of life, all things rotating as if it
  Were a dance.

Watch as leaves disappear from trees, falling together,

They vanish, crumble and blow away with the wind,
  Always.

Beneath the Autumn sky, there are colors of orange,
  Yellow, and red,

Shades of beauty that are here for a Fall season, they
  Soon slip away.

A cool breeze in the air, animals collecting food for a
  Winter cold,

Beneath an Autumn sky there is life moving as all things
  Must die.

KEEPER OF THE LIGHT

                         KEEPER OF THE LIGHT

Up in the air, he spreads his wings,

He stretches to the heavens and sees many things.

This god of the sun, KEEPER OF THE LIGHT,

Soars in the sky on an eternal flight.

So peaceful is he, away up so high,

Forever and ever this spirit will fly.

Keeper of the light, what do you see?

Beyond the sun, a mystery to me.

Through the wind, you travel round and round,

Watching over this star, from you there's no sound.

I can only imagine, you're a spectacular sight,

Fly way up high, keeper of the light.

CAN ANIMALS DO THIS;

                   CAN ANIMALS DO THIS

This is for the children, a story I tell,

Listen quietly, can animals do this.

Did you ever see a duck drive a truck,

Can a Baboon fly a rocket to the moon.

Have you ever seen a Giraffe laugh,

Did you ever watch a lion that was crying.

Do you suppose a snake would eat a piece of cake,

Does a mouse eat cheese and live in a house.

Can a frog sing to a barking dog,

Does a bird know a word, one that you've heard.

Can a cat laugh with a bat,

Did you ever see a moose kicking a goose.

What if a chimp could fly a blimp,

Do you think that a bear can fly through the air.

Maybe a horse can say of coure, of course,

Do you think that a cow can go meow.

Have you ever seen a goat drive a boat,

What about a sheep that swims so deep.

Can animals do this, what do you think,

Off to sleep, time to dream.
