A CLEAR, SPRING NIGHT

I await you as the sun goes down, a breeze blowing cool,

There will be a full moon rising in the sky tonight.

Jasmine is a fragrance noticed in the nights of spring,

Sweet is its smell as darkness awakes and the daylight sleeps.

The cold bite of Winter becomes a memory for now,

Summers heat has not yet been born, this feeling of spring.

Walk with me hand, in hand under a full moon so bright,

A clear, Spring night is alright, with a woman of beauty i walk.

A dreaming man tells a story of a walk with a beautiful woman,

Under a full moon on a clear, Spring night, he waits.

WHEN I SEE YOU IN HEAVEN

What will it be like when i get there, will you be the same,

Will you have the face and smile that i remember before.?

All of you that were once part of this place, my world,

Descendants that i never had the chance to meet or know.

My father, again i will have the pleasure of your love and caring,

As if time never went by, we are always together as you were away.

When i see you in heaven will you recognize my face,

I was a child when you went on your voyage that long ago day.

I think of you with angel wings, a long white gown and happy,

It’s been a lifetime for me, beyond is eternity, do you remember me.?

When i see you in heaven i pray we will be as once we were as father and son.

HE HAD A DREAM

He use to be, he walked as a man,

Growing up as a child, harder than one could have imagined.

With strength and courage he stood for the fight,

So many against him as he marched for what’s right.

At times so scary to speak what you believe,

Most just complain, Oh! not he.

It took a demon, the devil in disguise,

To take from him what he told from inside.

He was once a boy but grew to become a man,

To tell of his cause as he walked with the people hand, in hand.

His name was Martin Luther King,

He was not forgotten because of an ignorant mans bullets ring.

He had a dream,

He was a man,

His dream is alive. Keith Garrett

SEEKING TOMORROW

There’s no way to see it, search and search,

I watch for tomorrow as today live, only live.

If this next should be a blessing given to me,

Will i see all the beauty that’s put before these eyes.?

Blinded by the past, painful memories still a vision,

Walk forward i do into perhaps tomorrow, seeking.

Dream upon dream and hope everlasting,

Energy and strength will guide me from this day.

Seeking tomorrow is a heart felt thought to be,

Seeking tomorrow, when it comes watching i’ll be.

NOISES FROM THE SKY

With a rumble it rolls across the clouded sky,

This force of nature sounds angry as it goes by.

With a crack and a boom it cries out from above,

Like the pounding of drums echoing down upon all.

Noise from the sky, thunder by its name,

A miracle of nature or the release of the universes pain.

WORDS OF THE DAY

I woke this morning to a brand new day,

A chill outside, cloudy was the theme.

The sun did shine for just a moment or two,

A cup of coffee and some things to do.

Working on my writing, a story about my dad,

A walk through the park, on my way for an eye exam.

A cool breeze in the air as i make my way back home,

A sight of hopelessness on the faces from the forgotten ones.

My life is not so bad as i walk through door,

Another cup of coffee and some food sitting on my couch.

Nothing is perfect, nothing so bad,

A little sadness, sometimes happy and glad.

Words of the day, today something to say.

ECHOES

Stand on top of the mountain, scream out and listen,

Your voice can be heard what seems to be around the world.

There are echoes in the wind from centuries ago,

Across many deserts the winds hold echoes in the dark of night.

How long the oceans have traveled, do you hear the echoes of ships,

Across the waters they traveled, many echoes of the stories told.

Echoes of war, echoes of songs sung throughout time, those that remind,

Echoes that haunt the mind, sounds that last a mans lifetime.

SOUNDS IN THE WIND

The wind has no sound unless obstacles to blow around or between,

Through nothing can it pass, an opening must make way for it.

Travels and swirls across the sky with force and power,

Since the existence of time it remains alive but unseen.

The crackling of branches and twigs from the trees,

Rustling of the leaves moving through the shrubs, wind has sound.

Through chimneys you can hear the wind whistle,

Fences creek, chimes let you know the wind is here.

Windows vibrate and trashcans hit the ground like drumbeats,

From our ears we hear sounds in the wind.

WITH CLOSED EYES

Many things are noticed when one can’t see,

Against our face the wind or a bird chirping in a tree.

From the air the sound of a plane soaring by,

Thunder claps as loud as a sonic boom.

People laughing with each other driving past,

Dogs barking in a nearby yard as they’re listened to.

The sound of music heard through an open window,

Two people in love saying goodbye at the door.

There are many, many things we notice with closed eyes,

Not only the darkness that’s with us inside.

The mind will open at the time our eyes close,

And see more than can be imagined in this dark world.

I CAN SEE TOMORROW

So clear to me, clear to see,

Yesterday is gone, gone away.

Today will soon be in the past,

It will be yesterday, i see this today.

Tomorrow is not yet here, this is clear,

When it comes it will turn into today,

Soon disappear into yesterday.

I can see tomorrow, i see this today,

Many things to discover, what comes my way.

What’s out on the horizon still a mystery,

It moves forward into my life, too be my today.
