WE ALL AGE BUT WE DON’T STOP LIVING

From our first breath we begin the cycle of our life,

Each day you awake to the morning light you are blessed.

We all age in this mysterious world as everything does,

Never should we stop living as our time must not be wasted.

At times it’s true that a persom may worry to much about growing old,

Concentrating also on a day when he or she will go away to another place.

How can we live if our days are filled with the fear of not being here,

Living not only to exist but see this world without wondering about when.

We all age but we don’t stop living, we can’t give up the fight and wanting of life,

We don’t stop living although each day a small piece of life fades away with time.

FADES, DOES THE PICTURE

A reel to reel movie, a painting so old,

An old photo album covered in dust.

Growing up in a town long since gone,

Relics, skeletons from our yesterday.

Memories are not so clear, gone with the years,

Sometimes forgotten, at times not remembered.

Blocking out things we wish no longer to see,

The mind is a special place of reality and fantasy.

Sometimes we try to go back from within, inside,

Finding that we are lost, our way is like a fog.

Fades, does the picture, scenes of our time,

A little taken away, as we age from day, to day.

THIS OLD GUITAR

Fingertips ready, i strum out many a tune,

Loud and fast, mellow, under a nights full moon.

On the porch, playing beneath the stars,

Singing the blues on this old guitar.

In my hands, beauty created in sound,

This musical friend of mine, travel around.

All come together, fingers, mind, and heart,

I am the master of this old guitar.

Rhythm and song shared out loud,

Together we are one as we play to a crowd.

This old guitar has amazed many a soul,

Been everywhere, played to young and old.

Its voice has been heard around the world,

The language it speaks, understood by all.

RIDE OFF INTO THE SUNSET

Going out In style, everyone has their moment, their time to shine,

Running and dancing, climbing hills, riding skateboards In our youth.

Not to say that one can’t live or enjoy all these things In our later lives,

No matter the exercise or the love of that which we do we will slow down.

The basketball star moves with energy and vitality along the open floor,

He passes the torch and says goodbye and moves on to a different day.

He throws the football to the cheers of the fan, for many years a star,

He sets the ball upon the ground then walks from the stadium to a hall of fame.

Swing the bat, a baseball hero plays for many seasons of Springs and Summer days,

When the cheers are no more his bat Is headed for a place called Cooper’s town U. S. A.

Nothing Is less or more Important for one person than It Is for another, we all see the setting sun,

For whatever we do the day will come when we all will ride off Into the sunset, we lived.

FACES OF CLOWNS

Disguises are worn, they hide a world of fear,

Hidden with colors of false smiles or frozen frowns.

We laugh and we dance, juggle our thoughts and emotions,

Our world Is a cage, a circus of freaks and entertainment.

We challenge our own mortality, on a high wire we dance,

Shot through a cannon to where we may land, life In hand.

Faces of clowns, dressed In costumes they seem secure,

Acts put on for children, are they not the young that have tears.

We dress in our own costumes, put on a face that we choose,

Is what appears real only a magicians magic, a trick of sorts.

Whatever expression we wear, whatever makeup we’re made of,

Faces of clowns, we all wear faces of clowns.

OUR LITTLE TOWN

I’m glad you could visit, come here and stay awhile,

This is our town, fields of green and trees old and young.

There’s a creek close by over by wear we live, you’ll like it,

We have good neighbors here, friendly and hard working.

In town you’ll find a general store where you will find what you need,

There is a nice little church built of white with a big bell that sings.

After church on Sunday we all spend the day enjoying a picnic and relaxing,

There is a great big pond where we can swim and laugh when the days are hot.

I’m so glad you are staying with us, we’re going to have a great time,

We’ll go riding tomorrow morning when the sun is rising, the land is beautiful.

Our little town is most simple with a peace that can be felt all around,

I’m glad you came to visit, It’s been the best time of my life.

WE HAVE TODAY

Remember yesterday as we ran through the fields of play,

Children of innocence had much to say, no worries of the day.

Tomorrow has no memory, are we even in its thoughts,?

Tomorrow is our hope, we have today, only today.

For granted is taken the mornings rising sun,

As we slip into slumber, will awake in our beds.?

We have today to breathe as we please, with our eyes we see,

Laugh today, hold on and love as much as we can.

You are energy, you are the raging waters that flow never ending,

You are the sparkle in the sky, the shining star that never dies.

Strength and power are you, stand tall and touch the sky,

Close your eyes, feel as your courage reaches far and wide,

We have today, my hand reaches for you, i am with you.

SAIL AWAY WITH ME

A slight breeze blowing across the bay today, the sun will shine,

A few passing clouds but a great day to sail away with beautiful you.

Free to wander a different part of life, escape together across the water,

What a beautiful day, such a pretty smile on a beautiful face ready to sail.

I brought wine and cheese and If It gets chilly something stronger you see,

A blanket to cover up with as the day loses the sun, some music and some love.

Sail away with me beyond all that we everyday see, just you and me, the sea,

Remember our day together, our time In the sun sailing Along the horizon line.

Sail away with me, forever we’ll sail together until go away forever.

THROUGH DIFFERENT EYES

There we are together standing as the sun disappears,

Only a lonely tree keeps us company, we are alive!.

Many colors rest in the open sky as day turns to night,

We stand together yet apart with our own vision of life.

Through different eyes, do we see the same things,?

As only our thoughts create a separate way of seeing them.

We are two souls occupying the same earth, dreaming, wondering,

Watching the world in two directions, seeing a different way, imagine.

YOU’RE HARD TO FIND

YOU’RE HARD TO FIND

They said you went away, you disappeared without a word,

What made you leave and not say to any a loving goodbye.

I heard about places where you might have gone,

Traveled did i to many a town, not a clue to your whereabouts.

It’s been quite awhile now, memories enter my mind,

People come and go in this world, we’re lucky to have known

Wherever you went, whatever you’re doing, i only hope,

A thought that your life is great and that you’re safe.

I’m pretty sure that god is watching over you anyway,

If ever you need me, i’m easily found, i’ll be thinking of you.
