HEART AND SOUL

Everything I’ve got, what’s inside of me strong,

Pours out with energy, stopped i can not be, give up i will not.

Stand and take notice as i conquer what invades my spirit,

Emotionally grow do i, strength and power absorbed within this soul.

Heart of the lion oh! i do possess, listen to me, hear me roar,

Weakness stares at me, such a pathetic coward it is, look away.

Fear and sorrow attack and intimidate who i am, rise up and fight!,

Walking away, turn and gaze over my shoulder leaving it behind.

Hear what this man has to say, do you know that which lives in me,?

I grow, and grow fore i have the heart and soul.

YOU ONCE WALKED THE EARTH

YOU ONCE WALKED THE EARTH

More than two thousand years ago you were born to this world,

A baby In a manger, a child whom did play as children still do.

A mother and father were Joseph and Mary, a story forever told,

This more than special boy would soon grow to be a man.

A carpenter by trade, taught the art of hard work was your everyday,

It Is said that you died at the young age of thirty two,

You sacrificed and died for that which you believed.

You once walked the earth, It’s hard to believe,

Over two thousand years ago, the things you did see.

You once walked the earth, a man of faith, Jesus Is your name,

You once walked the earth, In heaven for eternity.

THE MIGHTY SEQUOIA

THE MIGHTY SEQUOIA

How beautiful a tree that stands what seems like forever,

Some are more than three hundred feet high touching the sky.

Can you just Imagine the time these trees have spent watching clouds pass by,

They have been standing strong while lifetimes have come and gone.

The mighty Sequoia, their Is one that lives for thirty five hundred years,

Imagine this, born to the world as It began Its growth before the life of Jesus Christ.

This mighty tree still stands two thousand years after the death of quite a man,

It Is the mighty Sequoia, King of trees, will stand forever as long as the earth will be.

THROUGH DIFFERENT EYES

There we are together standing as the sun disappears,

Only a lonely tree keeps us company, we are alive!.

Many colors rest in the open sky as day turns to night,

We stand together yet apart with our own vision of life.

Through different eyes, do we see the same things,?

As only our thoughts create a separate way of seeing them.

We are two souls occupying the same earth, dreaming, wondering,

Watching the world in two directions, seeing a different way, imagine.

THINGS I HAVE SEEN

Born with these eyes that for a lifetime have seen,

Wonderful pictures of a world that seem like a dream.

Things I have seen are those of beauty and life combined,

Things I have seen are of darkness and quite horrible things.

Things I have seen should not have been there to ever see,

Not from eyes of the Innocent child whom hasn’t had time to dream.

Things I have seen are of hope, love, and courageous things,

Leaving it all behind

I stop where i’m standing looking around,

What is this madness born to us all.?

Leaving my work, my home, and the things known to me,

Go away to a place up high, way back in the hills.

There are no people of judgement to listen to,

The loud sounds of tragedy lost in my travel.

There is no anger or the struggle to survive,

Out here only nature to hear me cry.

Leaving it all behind,

The life that was once mine.

TWO ON A SWING

Here we are in the late afternoon, the sun going down,

I came by your house to say hello, it’s been some time.

I can’t believe it’s almost Summer can you,?

I see you still have that porch swing your dad put up.

How has everything been going for you since i’ve been gone,?

I’m glad, i can only stay for awhile, you do understand.

Remember the days when we would just talk and sit on your swing,

The weekends in the Summer sun, laughing and not a worry to be found.

We were just kids, young, times like those are memories of fun,

I could see your tears when i had to leave this place.

I’m in your hrart as you’ll forever be in mine,

Let’s just sit here for awhile until the sun fades,

I’ll never go away, remember two on a swing in those Summer days.

THOUGHTS OF HEAVEN

Heaven Is somewhere but Is It really up so high beyond the ending sky,

Could there be a fog like place, are there fluffy clouds all around.

Believe do I that It does exist somewhere beyond the universe,

I believe that heaven Is In a demension within all that exists.

A beautiful land of green grass and peaceful hills there would be,

An Inner world that can be Imagined and believed by those with faith.

Each of us may believe that heaven Is someplace high above but where Is up,

The earth rests In space, floating In a universe that has no known ending.

Could there be a place on the other side, a spiritual resting place for eternity,

God and Jesus are closer than we know, Heaven Is a place we’ll one day know.

TURN AROUND

Wherever you may be standing then there’s something to see,

Watch what’s In front of you, keep your eyes on the horizon.

Be ever so careful, always on that which surrounds your world,

Turn around, something Is there, what might It be, beware.

There are times when we need to turn around and see yesterday,

Remember where we have come from and what we have learned.

Turn around once In awhile to your past, look hard to see friends missed,

Turn around to understand, see your regrets but leave them there.

We can turn around to many things, always be able to see what’s behind,

There’s no turning back to yesterday except In your thoughts and ageing mind.

DO YOU KNOW THESE PEOPLE

They are shadows of friends long since gone,

They are men and women, friendly or not, they are.

They stand there co- workers, strangers not yet known,

Husband, wives, boyfriends or girlfriends, past and present.

A chance their’s a brother, sister missed for some time,

Ghosts from memories of a long time ago, friend or foe.

A mother or father, one for awhile missed, the other forver,

Once stood where you could see, now shadows In eternity.

Do you know these people, can you recognize their faces,

From different times and different places.
