BEACHES, AND OCEANS
Too love the beach, walking along the sand
So warm,
Looking ahead of me at the pier in the distance.
The feel of the wind, as i'm walking along the wet,
sandy shore,
The sun shining in the sky, seagulls flying in
Search for food.
My thoughts are of many things, as I dream of 'life's
Pleasures,
At peace am I, strolling along listening, always
Listening.
The waves are a beautiful sight, musical tunes
Crashing upon the shore,
The horizon seems like forever, as i stare in silence
At its mystery.
Shadows from clouds, darken the ocean, but only
A touch,
The wonders of life that live beneath the waters, are
Seen from within.
Beaches and oceans have been forever,
There's a great love for me, as they go on together.

FOLLOW THE RIVER
FOLLOW THE RIVER
Watching the water as It flows' down stream,
I walk Its' path on either side.
As the river turns,' swaying from side to side,
The rushing water crashes and throws' Itself at me,
As I make my way along.
On my journey past trees and hills,'
Notice do I, the bright sun and big white clouds'
Passing me by.
Follow, follow the river on a course chosen by Itself,
Onward, downward, until such a place where the
Water lies still.
I follow the river to a resting spot,
Now It Is time for this soul to sleep.

LEAVING IT ALL BEHIND
" LEAVING IT ALL BEHIND"
I stop where I'm standing, looking around,
What Is this madness born to us all.
Leaving my work, my home, and the things
Known to me,
Go away to a place up high, way back In the hills'.
There are no people of judgement to listen too,
The loud sounds' of tragedy, lost In my travel.
There Is no anger, or the struggle to survive,
Out here, only nature to hear me cry.
Leaving It all behind,
The life that was once mine.
Keith Garrett
ALL THAT I SEE
All that I see
Far In the distance, I see hills' standing still,
Trees of green, blowing In the breeze, falling
Leaves.
Grass of green, that I see below me, vision of
Paradise,
A lake that sits' beneath the sky, this sky sometimes
cries.
I am a dreamer, who sees with heart and soul,
All that I see Is not only a dream.

AMERICA IS A WAR
AMERICA IS A WAR
Everywhere, from land to land they are destroying,
Mass destruction, killing so many in foreign places.
They know and speak of us fore we are the center
Of attention,
Worry more about what's happening over there,
Beware.
America is a war, we are fighting in the streets, hate
Is strong,
Who can we trust, only ourselves, with eyes in the
Back of our heads.
There is more crime going on behind closed doors,
Than in the dark of night,
Fighting for territory, drug wars, gangs in every town,
Out of control.
We need not worry about being destroyed by others,
As we will do this ourselves,

100 YEARS FROM TODAY
100 YEARS FROM TODAY
Yesterday, what we see as hundreds of years ago
Is gone,
History it is to us, read about in books of long
Lost times.
The days are always moving along, we do take for
Granted, the morning,
The setting sun is a most spectacular sight, heading
Into the night.
Here where we stand, may still be standing, another
Will be standing,
100 years from today, the world that we know will
Have much changed.
Just as we wonder what life was like, back in a time
Of cowboys and pioneers,
Tomorrow's people will also wonder, and read about
Our time and place.
100 years from today, we will be a part of history,
Others will be amazed,
Just as we are amazed, and dream of those times, when
The world appeared to be a dream.

THAT’S LIFE
THAT'S LIFE
Walk with me and hear my thoughts of the day,
From the time we are a child we think and play.
A fairytale from the beginning that we are forever,
Of this world not meant to be, everlasting Is heaven.
Into our lives, people step and then walk away,
We lose and we gain, lessons of love and pain.
At times the bad seem blessed, and the good will suffer,
Those with much love to give can not discover anothers
Heart.
Most take for granted what others only cry for, Oh!
They cry,
That's life, sometimes we don't get what we deserve,
Many times we get what we get, that which Is given.
We see laughter, we see tears, we find fear, that's life,
We all have our day, and some have It taken away.
The longer we live, there's a chance for love or sorrow,
We hold on for tomorrow, because that's life.

SUNRISE
SUNRISE
Darkness disappears,' as day comes to life,
Footsteps of mine, traveling the morning light.
The fog begins' to lift, showing the beauty of God,
I walk this way with hope by my side.
Quiet, as It's early, fore sleep still lingers,'
On the move are these legs, tired, forever tired.
Rays of light, shine through the distant clouds,
Sunrise has a story, for a man roaming alone.
Everything has changed, as the days' seem the same,
A song, he sings' a song In my ear, always heard.
My favorite music, from the man from Jersey,
Sunrise, sweet sunrise, each day my journey.

STRENGTH
STRENGTH
The lion Is strong and fearless as he roams'
The jungle,
It Is known that he Is there, his crown Invisible
But seen.
There Is strength In a man who stands' up for
What he believes,
He Is strong and powerful, with words' of
Knowledge or silence.
Doing what Is hardest, doing what scares one,
But must be done,
Facing ones' self In the mirror, and admitting
He has faults.
Strength Is letting your emotions' show, but
Kept in control,
Knowing Inside there's a man, although
vulnerable.
I am a man, I have strength.

THE DARCYS I’VE NEVER FORGOTTEN YOU
THE DARCYS
I'VE NEVER FORGOTTEN YOU
The year was nineteen seventy two, our family
Made a visit to Yorba Linda
to see the house we would be moving into. It
Was still a wood frame but would
be completed soon. I recall being outside when
My brother Gary and Bob just met.
We left that day and soon returned to stay,
Off the freeway and up over that big hill
to a new place. I was ten years old, starting again
In a place full of hills and kids.
The Darcys were the first family we knew, way back
In nineteen seventy- two.
First of all there was their dad, Ed Darcy was a very nice
Man, voice a bit rough.
but I was just a kid so I'll give him a break. I think back
To how nice he was, Inviting
me to an Angel game. I was standing in my yard, they
were leaving and I was so excited
when I was asked. I'm not sure but I think he worked
For the airlines, Thank you, Mr. Darcy.
There was their mother, Rose, always as nice as could be,
With what sounded like an accent.
I remember going places with her in that light blue VW bus,
that was the color I still see
She let me stay the night a few times, I remember you,
Rose Darcy, thanks for the memories.
Genie, and I hope I spelled it right, was the oldest of four
children, I do recall her face and smile.
But we didn't hang out as I was much younger, I
Remember, As you were a Darcy.
I have many memories of Bob, He may be surprised, but I
Thought of him as an older brother.
Do you remember your bed, where there was another bed,
You pulled out like a drawer?
Bob played catch with me, from one side of the street
To the other, he threw that baseball.
I can't believe he was fourteen and I was eleven,
he started me on a stamp collection that I
loved year after year. I remember Bob jumping in our pool
when it was freezing, crazy!
From nineteen seventy- two to seventy three, I knew this
family, it seemed like a long time.
Thanks for being a friend, Bob, I think of you from a lifetime
ago, a dream, don't you know.
Do you remember when Ken and you rescued a cat from
the sewer? so dirty were you.
I may not spell their names correctly, but Paska and Zeebo
Were a mans' best friend.
Hey! Bob, I watched you pitch down at the old little league
field, I was eleven and that was cool.
Thanks so much Bob, for being you, I remember your voice,
And laughter too.
Hello! Ken, you were twelve and thirteen too, at times you
appeared mean, older than me.
You showed a smile and a glare, in your heart there was care,
You were funny and kind.
Remember when Bob and you made candles in your garage?
melting the wax, using the dye.
different bottles, or jars. I walked up and down the street,
selling door to door, tired feet.
The Fourth of July and fireworks, do you recall as I do,
walking or riding bikes to the
Firework stands? Summer heat, a coke, and a swim in the pool,
pool, those were the days.
I remember you guys had homemade Ice cream one time,
to an old friend named Ken.
Last but not least, was a little girl called Carolyn, I don't
recall the name but she
went to a school where there were animals, she was friends
with my sister, Kathy.
I do remember you, Carolyn, you referred to your brothers
As Bobby and Kenny.
I remember your smile, I remember you all from a lifetime ago.
nineteen seventy two,
and seventy three.
