Written words,thoughts from inside,
I speak so differently than my pen that writes.
Not as happy as I’d like, pray this for me,
Lord in the sky, spirit up so high,
Lift the anger that hurts my soul.
Take away this haunting fear that rests in my mind,
Give me strength, the hope and desire to live on.
I die inside so slowly though my body may be strong,
Let me feel peace like quiet in the night,
Let me feel love as I am the saddened one.
Prayer for a poet, I speak these words to you dear God,
Stand by me when I am weak,
Let me rest in your arms.
Keith Garrett

brutal man, I’m sorry to hear that. Are you doing better physically?
I’m doing my own rehab. I’ve been sick for 4 days and can’t sleep much.

Do pray for a poet!!
Are you okay?
Hi Keith like your poem. Thank you for liking my poem Never! Peace and Best Wishes. The Foureyed Poet.
Love it
It takes courage to get your thoughts down. May I suggest you check the small ‘i” and God ( g) for editing. some of the most famous poets such as Keats and Shelley wrote out of their own anguish. Keats was so young when he died of TB but his poetry is wonderful.
I like yours because iit comes from the heart. I write poetry too but usually for Songs of Joy for church use.
thanks for looking at my blog. Jane

Sherrie Miranda’s historically based, coming of age, Adventure novel “Secrets & Lies in El Salvador” is about an American girl in war-torn El Salvador:

Her husband made a video for her novel. He wrote the song too:
