Do you remember me as i remember you,
In a small town of Summer and snow.
We were just children of dreams and games,
We were not twins but just the same.
Traveled far to be where we are,
Memories don’t die of a place we were born.
I am me and you are you, brother i am,
My sister are you, a long way from home.
Do you recall when a roof top fall was a scary moment, why i laughed, why,
White blonde hair on such a little girl,
You made me sad, you made me mad.
We had to be close as we grew,
Something to hide us from the thoughts we knew.
Reality seemed like a dream as our lives would change with a scream,
My sister with a name, Kathy it be,
At times we’ve drifted so far it seems.
Anger or fight has wasted the hour glass sand,
Together again we’ll stand.
My sister, my sister, forgive and forget,
Let the past rest fore you dear sister are the best.
Remember a season when once we were young,
Today a touch older, still we are young.
Think of me as i’ll think of you, when we go away,
Again we’ll meet before the angels and he.
My sister Kathy,
Yes, time does slip away fast and regrettably, my sister passed away very suddenly a year and half ago, but “Again we’ll meet before the angels and he.” Thank you for sharing! Happy day!!
That’s a beautiful piece, great job. 🙂
This is truly beautiful. Well done.
This is so lovely! Blessed is the sister to have this poet as her brother.
Warm wishes ~ Wendy
Thank you for following my poetry. I am enjoying reading yours as well! in peace,
Thanks for following my blog. I look forward to reading more of your poems. I liked this one in particular. Some lovely and nostalgic phrases, such as “in a small town of summer and snow.”
Came across this poem again. Discovered I had already liked it from an earlier read, so wanted you to know, that I’m liking it again. —–Chagall
