I started writing poetry in 1998 when troubled times came upon me.
I was fighting for my children at that time so I wrote my first poem,
In a desperate state, it was called ” my fight”
They were my first inspiration during those times, I’ve been writing poems ever since.
Over the years many different family members and friends have been a part of
my drive to write.
Many more things have inspired me to keep going.
My survival of brain surgeries have made me appreciate the world a little more,
all that is around me.
Nature, the wind, sun, hills, and my everyday thoughts, hopes and dreams.
I’m lucky to have lived all of these years.
I have my health, my sons and daughter.
Today I have the love of a woman who inspires me too keep writing.
Never give up, or as she says! cowboy up. Keith Garrett
That’s wonderful Keith! Sounds like you have a whole bunge of amazing people around you! Good for you! π

I’ve recently been through Brain Surgery and also have found myself reaching for my poetic pen…This is inspiring Keith Thanks π
Expelling emotions through the pen can be great therapy for all of us writers. Glad it brought u through the tough times to achieve great happiness.
Keep pressing forward and definitely keep on writing, brother π I’m glad you are surrounded by love.

Circumstances and people do change. You can only try to make things right, and hope for the best. It’s the ones we love that hurts us the most. Blessings Keith!
