WHEN IT’S TIME TO STOP

Family and friends can be a complicated situation,

We grow up together in a house, a town, we travel together.

It seems like we would always be together but things change,

We grow and move away in different directions, times change.

As a child most of us probably thought the world was magic,

Life was forever, and nothing we had or people we knew would be lost.

Forgiveness is a great thing, letting go of anger and a grudge so wise,

Because we may one day not see a friend, speak with a loved one, or miss,

This is no reason to keep a relationship that is toxic or abusive.

Let the anger go, it’s tiring to the soul, a grudge not worth the time,

Just because we love doesn’t mean we have to stay in touch,

When it’s time to stop, nothing more to say, we don’t get along, that’s okay.

It’s not negativity or drama as some might say, letting go is a way,

Let’s just say it’s not about right or wrong, the relationship is gone.
