VIEW FROM A CLIFF
Alone, high above the wandering ocean is where I spend my day,
Wind can not be seen but it makes a sound, feel It all around.
Thinking Is a constant thing that I do, Free under a clear sky I can breathe,
The sun shines high in the sky, somewhere beyond, heaven watches down.
For miles and endless miles from so up high I can see forever the ocean wide,
There are birds and seagulls soaring across the sky, I stand here wondering about life.
Where I am Is oh! so high but what Is high, to reach above and touch the stars,
Waves crashing against the rocks with a powerful force, such an awesome sound.
Above the world, It seems as this view from a cliff Is a most amazing sight,
With the dark of night approaching, I say goodbye to a beautiful place.
Keith Garrett
Amazing. I almost framed a picture in my head.
Thanks for reading.
Thank you.
I was trying to create a beautiful scene about a cliff. My father fell off of a cliff in 1969, Halloween, Rancho Palos, Verdes CA.

As I read this , I was transported to that place of beauty and awe. Little did I know about your father’s fate. So sorry for your loss.
Fifty years on Halloween.

How very sad to have lost your father so young. When I was that young, my father was a POW in Germany for 4 years, and I remember how I missed him, but he came home.
My father was in Korea, I have his journal and poetry from that time.
