IT HAS BEEN A YEAR, MOM
Time really does fly, mom, It has been a year,
It was a short time ago that we spoke on the phone.
Where did you go, life goes on here while you are away,
I miss you, You had a life, full of love and strife.
How can it be that you are gone, you were always mom,
How does a little girl grow old and disappear, are you near?
Is it possible that you can forget, do you know of us in your new world,
We do and always will think of and remember you, you are mom.
It has been a year, mom, all that you were has scattered to the universe,
Remember me as I will surely never forget you, you were my mom.

I miss my mom, too. I am sure you carry her blessings.
Thanks so much for reading my poetry for all this time.

Thanks for sharing. I light a candle for my mom on her birthday. I tell her about her grandchildren who she never met.
This is a powerful piece. As one who lost her mother many years ago, this speaks to me still today. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for your thoughts
