THE WOLF IS ALWAYS AT THE DOOR
Knock! knock! who can that be at my door, not in the sense that you’ll hear,
The day may start out great and for all you know a day so wonderful.
You stroll peacefully out the door on perhaps a nice sunny day,
To the mailbox, you arrive, surprise, surprise, what might be inside.
People are everywhere trying hard for a better life but they are watching,
Whom is out there keeping tabs on you, eyes watching from beyond the sky,
Satellites roaming day and night, do they keep watch over evil or our every night.
Helicopter’s circle in the dark, through your windows do they take notice of all you do,?
So you think your phone you own, they listen to your words, know where you go.
The computer is great but watch what it is you write or say, they know how to read,
Criminals of great intelligence are among us, they quietly roam the world seeking
They’ll take your identity or maybe your life, scams of plenty that will ruin your day,
The wolf is always at the door, a face that changes more and more, day by day.
The man is out there, eyes and ears are hidden from your view, be very aware and careful.
Keith Garrett
Well said!
Thank you for reading.
My pleasure! Good piece! π
Poignant and relevant words in today’s world. Sometimes the futuristic prose of George Orwell is closer than we think.
Thanks for your thoughts

Her live version of the song on the NPR Tiny Desk Concert is better than the video I dropped, but she’s stout. So young, but incredibly present. Hope U enjoyed! π
I never heard that before but pretty good.

Well, Only reason I found U is because you “liked” my stuff, and I am not sure you truly read or “liked” my writing. So I am vetting U. That’s ok if U don’t. I think U have a lot to learn from me. But it’s cool if U don’t agree. π
Thanks for the forum.
I listened to some songs you told me about and read.

Hi Keith. You liked a post on my blog or maybe followed, and I saw the many “thoughts” in yer handle, so I thought I’d check out what you were stewing on. π
Just so we are clear… I am not afraid of the big bad wolf.
And Who are You? A piggy with bricks or straw? Or we we we all the way home?
I have only read this one poem of yours. So forgive me if I ask too many questions up front.
I’m speaking about society and what robs you. Thanks for reading.

Thanks for your reply Keith… but so you mean What robs You, you mean, not me. Have you seen the black and white film, Les Miserables starring Charles Laughton?
Who and what robs everyone.

you don’t have to go away, that’s why we are here, to read and share.
