WHEN YOU’RE ALONE

        WHEN YOU'RE ALONE

Do your thoughts enter your mind, too quiet at times,

When there is no one there, what makes you scared?

When you’re alone, and there’s no one on the phone,

Not a message finds you, the sound of your heartbeat stands alone.

Quiet roams a house with every step that you take,

When you’re alone, are you content and safe in your home?

Without another sound, are yours the only other words around?

Darkness is a different night, close your eyes to a lonely fright,

When you’re alone, is alone much of a home?

  1. My alone is not alone in a room.It is alone in this house, alone in this city and state. Nobody seems to understand what alone means. No social network, no family, no former school friends or years of work collegues. I’m in constant fear of the ” what if’s ” and I’m 77.
