CAN ANIMALS DO THIS?

CAN ANIMALS DO THIS

This is for the children, a story I tell,

Listen quietly, can animals do this.

Did you ever see a duck drive a truck,

Can a Baboon fly a rocket to the moon?

Have you ever seen a Giraffe laugh,

Did you ever watch a lion that was crying?

Do you suppose a snake would eat a piece of cake,

Does a mouse eat cheese and live in a house.

Can a frog sing to a barking dog,

Does a bird know a word, one that you’ve heard?

Can a cat laugh with a bat,

Did you ever see a moose kicking a goose?

What if a chimp could fly a blimp,

Do you think that a bear can fly through the air?

Maybe a horse can say of course, of course,

Do you think that a cow can go meow?

Have you ever seen a goat drive a boat,

What about a sheep that swims so deep.

Can animals do this, what do you think,

Off to sleep, time to dream.

BETWEEN DREAMS AND MEMORIES

BETWEEN DREAMS AND MEMORIES

I saw it when I was a child, a castle with stairs that went high,

At the top, a suit of armor like a knight from centuries long ago.

Why was I there, I do not recall such a place, the snow, many a face,

When I was young it was very real, was this a dream that I did feel?

A hall with many rooms from my eyes I did see, a ghost in white,

It wandered within this place, was it a thought as I slept on a night?

I went to sleep one night when I was seven, In my dream, God was a child,

My fingers were bones, never did I see such a scene ever again.

Knocked on my neighbors’ door, what appeared was never before,

A witch with such laughter, made me rise into the air, not so real.

Between dreams and memories, what I have seen may have been dreams,

That which I thought were dreams may have been by me, seen.

WHY ARE THEY PUT AWAY?

WHY ARE THEY PUT AWAY

Discarded, locked away as if they matter no more,
Their lives are precious, are they valued as once before.
At times not anymore, they were at a time young and full of life,
Listened to and heard by those around, family and friends may be gone.
It just might do us all good to think about growing old but not alone,
Would we want to be cast away, said goodbye to and put away one day.
Why are they put away, Do they become useless or a burden to society.?
It’s forgotten that wisdom and much still to offer lives inside them, they matter.
The day will soon enough appear when we will become they, don’t put us away,
Why are they put away, they decay when life is taken from them, they speak so listen carefully.

WHILE WE SLUMBER

WHILE WE SLUMBER

In the dark of night, quiet, all things sit still,

Do they, while we slumber is all quiet and still.

What goes on while we dream, Is the house the same,

Are we safe with our eyes closed, does something watch?

What noises, creeks, or anything lives within the silence,

when we’re asleep what is it we do not see, things of every day.

The doors do not move just as the chairs remain in place,

We might think the house comes to life in our wondering minds.

How can we truly know while we slumber the happenings around us,

Fore we must sleep or forever dream with one eye open to the darkness.

While we slumber, we should not fear or have to wonder.

VOICES

VOICES

Around us, we hear those who speak,

Words and phrases to others who will hear.

So many different tones from mouths each day,

Softly spoken or In a deep mean way.

Talking a lot Is a way for some,

Fast and unclear Is another way too.

We hear many voices as we spend our day,

Talking about their lives and crying about their pain.

Voices are heard singing songs,

Which makes us happy and bring our emotions outside.

On the phone, there are voices, to us spoken words,

We can’t even see them but still, they are heard.

Without voices, we will not be heard,

If we are not heard then there Is silence.

UNTIL I FIND YOU

UNTIL I FIND YOU

My sight is on you, there is nothing you can possibly do,

After the things you have done, I will surely find you.

You stay in one place but you run, you drew first blood,

Until I find you I will not stop, little sleep, searching for peace.

You’ve done me wrong, If I could then I’d sing it in a song,

If it takes walking through the night, that will be alright.

For that which you have done, run heartless one, run,

I should let you go but the anger has attacked my soul.

Until I find you watch your back, I’m on the hunt, never looking back.

UNIVERSE

” UNIVERSE”

Created within me Is the answer to the beginning of time,

Is there a start or finish, an ending or beginning to what’s mine.?

In many a direction I must be,

Everything travels through my darkness, who knows what there Is to see.

Older than anything, how long have I really existed,

Where did I come from, Is the answer a mystery never to be discovered.?

All things that live within my space,

Rotating forever, will they always be In this place.?

I am the universe, not knowing what I really am,

With no air or much light, not a visitor from your land.

I’ll stay here, who can say just how long,

Perhaps till an end comes to my time.

UNDER AN OAKTREE

UNDER AN OAK TREE

Breezy is the day, spring is in the air,

Sunny is the way, a few clouds in the sky.

Sitting by the river, peaceful as can be,

A picnic with you, on a blanket, under an oak tree.

Shady and cool, what a beautiful way to play,

A little music to our ears, this is our day.

Listen to the birds, they sing in the wind,

Butterflies float from here to there.

A time of pleasure, moments without care,

Do you remember a time when this was you,

I remember Springs so long ago, I remember you.

UNDER A TREE, SHE CRIES

UNDER A TREE, SHE CRIES

A sunny day, a shaded tree, she rests,

See her do I as passing by, she cries.

Why do you he tears, what makes you cry,?

Such a beautiful day, do things not go your way.?

Why do I cry asks the man walking by, why,?

A friend has just died, she wanders now in the sky.

Sick was she as on this day God has taken her away,

Forever missed will be a friend of mine, not fair I say.

Hear what I say as under a tree you cry,

Her pain and suffering are no more, listen too just why.

She lies on the earth as her spirit so happy, says goodbye,

Laughing with Angels, walking forever with the lord up so high.

Under a tree she cries, I walked her way at a most perfect time.

TWO ON A SWING

TWO ON A SWING

Here we are in the late afternoon, the sun going down,

I came by your house to say hello, it’s been some time.

I can’t believe it’s almost Summer can you,?

I see you still have that porch swing your dad put up.

How has everything been going for you since I’ve been gone,?

I’m glad, I can only stay for a while, you do understand.

Remember the days when we would just talk and sit on your swing,

The weekends in the Summer sun, laughing and not a worry to be found.

We were just kids, young, times like those are memories of fun,

I could see your tears when I had to leave this place.

I’m in your heart as you’ll forever be in mine,

Let’s just sit here for a while until the sun fades,

I’ll never go away, remember two on a swing in those Summer days.
