THROUGH DIFFERENT EYES

THROUGH DIFFERENT EYES

There we are together standing as the sun disappears,

Only a lonely tree keeps us company, we are alive!.

Many colors rest in the open sky as day turns to night,

We stand together yet apart with our own vision of life.

Through different eyes, do we see the same things,?

As only our thoughts create a separate way of seeing them.

We are two souls occupying the same earth, dreaming, wondering,

Watching the world in two directions, seeing a different way, imagine.

THOUGHTS OF HEAVEN

THOUGHTS OF HEAVEN

Heaven Is somewhere but Is It really up so high beyond the ending sky,

Could there be a fog like place, are there fluffy clouds all around.

Believe do I that It does exist somewhere beyond the universe,

I believe that heaven Is In a dimension within all that exists.

A beautiful land of green grass and peaceful hills there would be,

An Inner world that can be Imagined and believed by those with faith.

Each of us may believe that heaven Is someplace high above but where Is up,

The earth rests In space, floating In a universe that has no known ending.

Could there be a place on the other side, a spiritual resting place for eternity,

God and Jesus are closer than we know, Heaven Is a place we’ll one day know.

THIS GUITAR

THIS GUITAR

Strum as you will each string on its face,

Words in tune with every touch of a hand.

What does it say as you teach it to speak,?

Sound and rhythm of emotion, this guitar.

Two become one, body and tool, this guitar,

Learn from it, feel its heartbeat of magic.

This guitar talks with the help of a wanting heart,

Listen, listen as it echoes out thoughts, this guitar.

THINKING OF MAN

THINKING OF MAN

Wow!, think about it, everyone has changed just as the times have changed,

Way back in time when food had to be hunted for daily, appreciation for a bite.

Today fast food on every corner that is slowly killing all around the world,

When we don’t finish our plates then we simply toss it away, down the drain.

There was a time when a man could drink from a lake or stream, refreshing,

Today without an intelligent thought it is perhaps for a dollar polluted water.

Way back in the west, many places, in fact, a body could rest their weary head

Under a tree, make camp and sleep, hunt, have some peace without a stare,

We come to the future where a person is now labeled homeless, we stare.

Loitering and vagrancy are the words used, no sleeping, hard to survive,

Move along it will be said to the one who dares to be free and live in peace.

It’s come to where neighbors fighting and the sounds of sirens are the way,

Nature is screamed at, a burden to many as they make their beautiful sounds in the day.

Trash in the streets but that’s okay, another will clean it if they come this way,

Thinking of man, this way of the future, we now pay a price for water, air, and even dirt.

THINGS I HAVE SEEN

THINGS I HAVE SEEN

Born with these eyes that for a lifetime have seen,

Wonderful pictures of a world that seem like a dream.

Things I have seen are those of beauty and life combined,

Things I have seen are of darkness and quite horrible things.

Things I have seen should not have been there to ever see,

Not from eyes of the Innocent child who hasn’t had time to dream.

Things I have seen are of hope, love, and courageous things,

Things I have seen are of views from so many different ways.

The things I have seen of mystery and unusual scenery,

A lifetime that makes up a movie of all that I am to be.

THEY WOULD BE FOREVER

THEY WOULD BE FOREVER

They met before the beginning of world war two, a lifetime ago,

A young man and woman just starting out, war was coming.

He would enlist in the army and go away, would he survive to return,

Pearl harbor and many other places for a young man to see,

In another time beauty, death and destruction for a moment In time.

They would be forever as this young woman would follow her love

On his travels to many different places In this world.

After his time In a war never forgotten but wished to be forgotten

They settled in a town called Monrovia In California for a life.

As they are now married for I believe sixty seven years and sit

Together each day with smiles always on their faces and much faith.

There was a time when once these two young people had hope for

The future as each night they slept on a floor of dirt with only togetherness.

They built their home here and have had a long and happy life,

Now In their nineties, they are still active with their family, friends, and each other.

They’ve done a wonderful thing over the years as these kind hearted souls

Adopted more than once giving homes to children, life and happiness, a chance.

To two people who are holding hands watching the sun go down, they would be forever,

Harold and Blanche,

THEY USED TO BE, THE STOOGES THREE.

THEY USED TO BE,

THE STOOGES THREE

Their antics were so ridiculous and funny,

Back in the thirties these men of slapstick so silly and funny.

Always into trouble just trying to get by,

Schemes and ideas were the thoughts they would try.

In haunted houses or western towns,

These foolish three could always be found.

A different job, another place,

A look so silly on each of their faces.

Moe was the leader or boss who seemed so mean,

Yelling and slapping, or a poke in the eyes that sure

Must have hurt at least to normal men it would be.

Curly with his many sounds and movements,

Messing everything up like a child, by Moe was punished.

Now then there was Larry, quiet was he,

The middle man of the stooges three.

Their comedy was great, routines smoothe as can be,

Moe, Larry, and Curly, they use to be, the stooges three.

THEY TRIED TO TAKE OUR FARM

THEY TRIED TO TAKE OUR FARM

To sweat and actually bleed, long hot days giving our all,

When the rooster crows we are already starting the morning.

What it takes to keep a farm, everyone pulling together as one,

You’ll find out quickly that no one will care, so you better care more.

The government decided they wanted our land, they asked politely,?

We said no! we don’t want to sell, that wasn’t really a question you see.

They got mean, we decide to get meaner, no one is taking our farm,

Here we’ll stand with guns in hand, die if we must, this is our land.

Together as one woman and men, we were ready to fight for a farm, our home,

They tried to take our farm, we prayed for peace, we want this not to be,

In the end, we did not fall, we said it all, they went away, this is our home.

THEY LOVE THEIR PEOPLE

THEY LOVE THEIR PEOPLE

The love of a dog, they want only to be cared about, they are loyal,

How Is It that one could hurt, kick, abuse mans best friend?

They don’t want to sleep outside In the cold, Winter rain,

Chained to a tree In the hot, Summer sun Is not a tasty treat.

Slapped and have a rock thrown at them when they don’t understand,

Yelled at and told to get out of here when they just wanted to show love.

They love their people, feed them a snack, scratch their warm, furry back,

Throw a ball and see them run In the sun till It’s time to go Inside.

When It’s suppertime they’re ready to help, part of the family,

Time to relax, they have their spot, In the chair with you,

On the floor next to a fire, a dog has feelings too.

Watch a T.V. show with you, that’s what a dog will do,

Time to go to bed! they love their people, goodnight.

THE MEANING OF LIFE, AND THE WORLD ACCORDING TO ME

THE MEANING OF LIFE

AND

THE WORLD ACCORDING TO ME

Does God have a plan, what is his plan, could this be his experiment,

From our first breath until our last breath there is life in between.

The mystery of why we are here is perhaps overthought, what is this life,

We walk and dream in this short existence known to us as forever.

The meaning of life appears very simple and not so confusing dear one,

Sit back and listen as I give my heartfelt thoughts of where we are and why.

Watch the trees, see them dance against the unseen but softly felt breeze,

Do you believe what has been put before you and me, understand the gift?

Love and laughter, pain and sorrow, must be a feeling for all to know,

All that lives is born to die, from the beginning of time we age and say goodbye.

See the mountain and walk its path, step by step, time will pass into tomorrow,

The sky travels, it is the clouds that guide the way, see all things that are dreamed.

The ocean will be, after on this earth you and I are but a memory, hear the ocean,

Put your feet into the sandy beach, feel the sand, walk along the timeless shore.

Touch another’s heart with the love and care that is possessed by you, reach out,

Let go of the tears of many years with a forgiving smile that lasts a lifetime.

If we see the sunrise, will we see the sunset again the same day,

Are we blind, do we take for granted the beauty of our world?

When it rains do we cry about that which falls down upon us, do we wonder why,

Listen for the sound, take in the drops of life that take us way on down the road.

The meaning of life and the world according to me is from inside all that this man may see,

God has laid these truly wondrous things before us, to see, to dream all that can be.

From this heart to you.
