TRAVEL WITH THE WIND

TRAVEL WITH THE WIND

Everywhere I would be and the places I would see,

High and low, fast and slow, across the fields we go.

Through the trees, the wind and me, blowing leaves,

I need not hang on, it just carries me away as I feel free.

To travel with the wind I am light with not a worry,

I am guided within this incredible force of nature.

I am shown exciting and beautiful scenes as beyond a dream,

Above the ocean so high, touching the wide open sky.

Travel with the wind through the green grassed hills,

In the forest dodging the trees, it is the wind and me.

If I had the chance then I would travel to the past to see,

Travel with the wind through time, see what used to be,

To the future where the wind will surely be waiting for me.

TOUGH ON THE SCREEN

TOUGH ON THE SCREEN

Heroes or bad guys, they played them all,

These stars of the movies, where are they now.?

A man named Cagney, Edward G. Robinson too,

John Garfield, Audie Murphy was quite a hero.

Jack Palance, a tough man for sure,

John Wayne,” the duke” was a man of strength.

Clint Walker and Richard Boone, big as can be,

Forrest Tucker, James Coburn, men of the screen.

Marlon Brando had a name as big as life,

James Dean was a rebel, Richard Widmark was mean.

Fess Parker was a big man, Gary Cooper so great,

Spencer Tracy awesome, Humphrey Bogart one of a kind.

Clark Gable, Anthony Quinn, greatness back in time,

Charlton Heston and Gregory Peck, actors so fine.

Lee Marvin, what a look, Charles Bronson, one so tough,

Kirk Douglas and Burt Lancaster, the talent of two.

Yul Brynner, magnificent a star, Robert Mitchum bad or good,

Sean Connery, accent with a gun, George Peppard, blue eyes and tough.

Tall and mean, Clint Eastwood and a lifetime of movies,

Lee Van Cleefe, a man with a glare, Steve Mcqueen, big on the screen.

Jack Nicholson, Peter Fonda, and Dennis Hopper on their riding machines,

Tommy Lee Jones and Robert Duvall, they played the hero, they did it all.

Robert Ryan or Robert Taylor back in the day, tough some would say,

Michael Landon, Robert Urich, Lee Majors, they all were great.

Robert Conrad was tough, the wild, wild, west,

William Shatner in charge, star trek, and Outerspace.

TRAIL OF TEARS

TRAIL OF TEARS

There appear to be two sides to our mysterious existence,

We can believe the devil exists but I believe and have faith in God.

There are those who are of evil, those who are of much good,

Throughout time many have cried, shed tears over experiences In their time.

Tears of happiness walking down the Aisle, a firstborn child.

A graduating son, that first grandchild who Is loved so much,

Happiness within yourself and happiness for others may bring tears.

The death of a loved one, a friend will bring tears of plenty, loss In one’s life,

Bombs bursting across many saddened lands, starving children with no chance.

Killing of Innocent animals, homeless souls wandering since It all began,

Trail of tears run for the destruction of Civilizations from lifetimes ago.

Horrifying, needless, slaughter of people because they are different,

The good and bad, happy and sad bring to us our trail of tears.

TRAPPED INSIDE

TRAPPED INSIDE

This world of mine was at one time much larger to these eyes,

When all at once that which is out there made me start to hide.

Not knowing that somewhere deep inside there was a pain not described,

Slowly I started to run from myself but there was no escape from the monster,

I will not call it he or she as it deserves no respect for the damage it does to my soul.

Once i could run anywhere, travel the roads feeling so light on my feet, how sweet,

A clear mind free from the invisible suffering that man has put a name upon.

There remains out there a piece of life, kept from myself by only me, I want to be free,

Keeps me does it from wandering, seeing the beauty of the land as I can only dream.

Trapped inside, wishing a large part of me did not have to hide from what can not be described,

A haunting worse than any physical hurt that can be felt, it eats you up from within.

It follows you like your shadow, fear that holds no definition from a book or mouth,

Trapped inside as there’s a powerful will to survive, no miracles as I’ll make it through.

TOGETHER THEY WALKED

TOGETHER THEY WALKED

Boys of mischief, boys with adventurous hearts,

On a journey to find the breathless one.

Four young boys with a story, each one,

Growing up was hard, struggle to find themselves.

Together they were happy, strong with hope,

A road they would travel, together they walked.

Camp by night, a fire and friends,

Shared their pain and fear, dreams and wishes.

They could speak their thoughts because no other ears would listen,

Never again would they experience together any times like these.

Together they walked, four boys as friends,

Lost with the crowd as time went by,

They all would soon grow up to become men.

Friends drifted to become never again,

Now in heaven rests the breathless one.

TODAY

“TODAY”

We are here in today, the morning begins with possibilities,

This is a new moment, the beginning of your new life.

Wake up! open the windows and see the light of day,

Smell the air as it gives life to all living things of the world.

Today is your chance to begin again and see what’s out there,

Make this a great day, a chance to change many things.

Today is not like yesterday a time already written forever,

Nothing like tomorrow which tells us nothing with empty pages.

Today is a special time of year as we know of it to be our only day,

We live in the moment, for the moment, nothing more precious than it.

TO SIT IN THE SAND

TO SIT IN THE SAND

By myself with the wind in my face,

Watching out towards the horizon, I sit in the sand.

Above, only sky that has not an ending to my eyes,

Birds that fly, drift silently on by.

The waves are a sight, crashing on the beach,

Who would be the man who sat here once and dared to dream?

To sit in the sand, warm to the touch of my feet,

Thoughts fill my wandering mind, what things do all of this teach.

To sit in the sand, peaceful is where I am,

Memory’s of times, all that I did in life,

Felt from inside.

TO CRY

TO CRY

What are these tears we shed from our eyes,

Something this means, why, oh! why do we cry.?

This release of moisture we let go of

Over our emotions is quite a mystery,

Cry do we over happy things,

Sadness brings tears, we cry over this.

If we cry when we are hurt better should we feel,

Cry if we do when we are happy, why this.?

To cry is what people do for all sorts of reasons,

It does different things for us all.

TIME STANDS NOT STILL

TIME STANDS NOT STILL

A clock may stop in the middle of a day,

Time keeps ticking one’s life away.

Measured by years the number you are,

How old will you get, will your existence go far.?

Months are a piece of time in your life,

As each passes by, shorter becomes your flight.

Weeks are measured seven days at a time,

Fifty two as twelve months go by.

A day has twenty four hours for you,

The sun comes up and goes down too.

Hour by hour our days will pass,

No slowing them down so our lives will not go fast.

What is a minute but sixty ticks at a time,

Second by second, older we find.

THUNDER AND LIGHTNING

THUNDER AND LIGHTNING

Monsters from the sky, monsters that come alive,

Like a team, One Invisible, the other of sight.

Thunder possesses the power of fearful sound,

Listen as It rumbles, echoing from within clouds above.

Lightning bolts strike without making any kind of sound,

Bright as It lights up the sky, deadly as It makes many a flight.

Thunder and lightning, together a combination so fierce,

Warning signs of a coming storm, don’t get caught In It at Its worst.
