IS MY LIFE A DREAM

IS MY LIFE A DREAM?

Thinking about it as merely a wondering, curious thought,

My every day and all that I do appears to be a life that’s true.

Whether your time here has been of happiness or just sad,

What if and just suppose that it wasn’t yours, wasn’t real.

All that you know and everything you have, are you dreaming,

What if as you are asleep your mind has made up and written a story.

Perhaps a lifetime, the friends, family members, that which you know to be,

Has no reality, that but a dream or to awake to a nightmare of screams.

Is my life a dream,? will I awake to find that nothing is as it seemed,

Reality is not what I have seen, for what appeared to be an eternity.

What if the life you believe to be is an accident, a long coma state,

Ask yourself, is my life a dream,? what if I had a different reality.?

WHY DID YOU NOT RUN

WHY DID YOU NOT RUN

Like thunder, explosions from different sites,

Their weapons loaded, death was in their eyes.

You saw them marching in the distance my friend,

Closing in on you were those who did not know you.

Did they leave you there alone, turn their backs and go,

Were the men with you smarter, were they pleading with you.?

It should not have been this way, you were not left to die,

No sense can ever be made of this tragedy as I wonder why.

My friend, why did you not run as were coming an army of guns,

As I was told you must retreat, why did you remain and wait.?

I received the news from one at my door that you were no more,

The words I heard were that you were brave and a hero,

This I would like to believe as you died needlessly.

YOU’RE HARD TO FIND

YOU’RE HARD TO FIND

They said you went away, you disappeared without a word,

What made you leave and not say to any a loving goodbye.

I heard about places where you might have gone,

Traveled did I to many a town, not a clue to your whereabouts.

It’s been quite a while now, memories enter my mind,

People come and go in this world, we’re lucky to have known

Wherever you went, whatever you’re doing, I only hope,

A thought that your life is great and that you’re safe.

I’m pretty sure that God is watching over you anyway,

If ever you need me, I’m easily found, I’ll be thinking of you.

ANOTHER TIME AND PLACE

ANOTHER TIME AND PLACE

I write to you from yesterday, a very long time ago for you,

Long before you were born in a town of people and family.

My family and I were up before the break of dawn, working,

Children of a simple time but at times not so simple you see.

Horses were a common thing just as your car is in your time,

Things of your day not dreamed up as of yet, life was hard, also fun.

Here in yesterday, there is sickness that kills many as there is no medicine,

As I sit here on my farm watching my wife and kids play I write this to you.

When you receive my letter it will be that I and those I love will be gone now,

You will have all the things that we here have never seen, good and bad.

There are beautiful things and land that will disappear with time, I can see them,

I live here in another time and place just as you do, I hope this letter gets to you.

FROM THEIR HEARTS’ CRY SONGS

FROM THEIR HEARTS’

CRY SONGS’

Listen to the sound, close your eyes and feel what It Is that they speak,

Poetry cries out from these two hearts’ of musical Inspiration.

They sing of dreams’, possibilities of love, and sadness around,

Separate thoughts’, voices known well together or apart are these men of Imagination.

With so much emotion, out from his soul come words’ of hope,

Art Garfunkel stands’ a dreamer In a not so perfect world.

This mans’ guitar tells’ tales In magical tunes of rhythm,

Paul Simon Is a thinker of the wonders’ that life holds’ for mankind.

WHERE I WAS GOING

WHERE I WAS GOING

I was walking down the road, the moon full of glow,

Late into the night, on my face something of a fright,

In the distance forever was waiting for me, I can see,

Where I was going such a long journey beneath my feet.

I saw where I had come from, where it was I had been,

I left behind many a friend, far from here and then.

The road has been long, splits and turns to everywhere,

I carry my burdens upon my shoulders, leave them in the end.

FANTASY WORLD

FANTASY WORLD

In a world, I can not Imagine, Is where she lives,

Beautiful, dressed In a costume of unusual thought.

Around her exists’ things’ of created Imagination,

From a dream of futuristic worlds’ discovered.

She is unknown, a name of secrecy to all beings’,

A vision of a warrior princess among a land of certain fantasy.

A way of life not known or understood by humans’ of this world,

She dreams’, she lives In a fantasy world.

LOST IN THE WIND

LOST IN THE WIND

The wind blows, where it goes only it knows,

An echo that sounds whenever it be around.

Listen when it roars, when it sleeps, hear the peace,

Feel the wind as it will move all around, touches what is found.

In the wind, what things do get lost, yesterdays thoughts,

Leaves from the trees, branches, or what tomorrow could bring,

Lost in the wind, material things, a soul that sings, everything.

THEY WERE DIFFERENT

” THEY WERE DIFFERENT”

He walked down the street full of laughter and fun,

He was poor with no money but no worries had he.

She was from a different world, of money and material things’,

A young woman with everything but she had nothing.

He was free with dreams’ that were possibly only dreams’,

What he wanted was only to be, what he wanted was she.

She was art, dance, and culture passed on by a family,

What she wanted was to be set free, treasure was not just money.

He appeared as a man whose clothing meant he had no worth,

But what Is the worth of a well dressed man with no Integrity?

They were different she and he, drawn together by feelings’,

The heart, the eyes, the touch of man to woman and woman to man.

They were different but they were the same, walking hand In hand,

With what’s love and pain.

DAILY PLEASURES

DAILY PLEASURES

Wake to the morning, a cup of tea or coffee,

Feeling the sunshine on a chilly, Fall morning.

Something to eat as again hunger visits me,

A shower, a hug from maybe someone you love.

Feeling good as health is a precious gift to enjoy,

A stroll down the street just my headphones and me.

A breath of life from morning through the dark of night,

Taken for granted at times, daily pleasures are so fine.
