JESUS WAS A TEENAGER
He did his chores, listened to what he was told,
I am sure he wasn’t the perfect child, that’s for sure.
Of a different time in this same world of ours he lived,
He had his time with friends, running and laughing.
Different games they played, maybe some of the same,
It was tough being a teen, the same as it is today.
Jesus was a teenager on a most difficult path than any other,
From his childish ways to the most famous man and spirit today.

“JACK”
He lives up high, he watches from the sky,
Listen as he speaks with words foreign to me.
We met him one day as down he swooped,
A drink of water and a bit of bread, he flew.
Grouchy with a touch of blue, his name be “Jack”
A whistle to the wind, he appears from wherever he’ been.
Watching, always watching,” Jack” is now a friend,
With the morning light, he can be heard, before the stroke of six.
The little birds gather for food but watch for him they do,
He torpedoes down to terrorize them, makes them go away.
Back he comes with a look from side to side as he grabs the biggest
Piece and “Jack” just flies away.
He sits on the wood, he takes a bath,
He wants it all, a grouchy blue bird by the name of ” Jack”
The sun is falling, off to bed in the sky,
He’ll be back in the morning, fly Jack, fly.

” TIME STANDS’ NOT STILL”
A clock may stop In the middle of a day,
Time keeps on ticking ones’ life away.
Measured by years’ the number you are,
How old will you get, will your existence go far.
Months’ are a piece of time In your life,
As each passes by, shorter becomes your flight.
Weeks are measured seven days’ at a time,
Fifty two as twelve months’ go by.
A day has twenty-four hours’ for you,
The sun comes up and goes down too.
hour by hour our days’ will pass,
No slowing them down so our lives will not go fast.
What Is a minute but sixty ticks at a time,
Second by second older we find.

IT’S NOT ABOUT THE MONEY
Why does he perform if he doesn’t need the cash,
For the thrill and excitement, he answers if one should ask.
He loves to watch the joy that it brings,
The way that he feels when a song he does sing.
Playing the guitar and having some fun,
Upon the stage with his friends joined as one.
It’s alright to have a good time,
He chants to the crowd as he’s feeling so fine.
What’s it about, not so hard to see,
It’s not about the money, not for Bruce Springsteen.

IT’S NEVER TO LATE
It’s never too late to open your eyes,
To say a thank you, to show a smile.
It’s never too late to listen with your ears,
Of words said that is needed to be heard.
It’s never too late to be less selfish of a man,
Or to show your love to that special one if you can.
It’s never too late to give of yourself,
Unless there’s no room for change in you and that’s sad.
It’s never too late to try to also do,
Grow as a man and be strong as a rock for yourself.
And those whom love and count on you.

IT WILL NEVER END
They don’t care if they die, they win every time,
Spreading fear and murdering as they see fit,
I call them not human as they take up precious space,
Their faces are hidden fore they are such a disgrace.
There can be no victory against those without souls,
Each time they destroy like the devil they smile,
We must conquer and eliminate but like cancer, they grow.
What is scary I say is that from here the money and help come,
It may not be true but what are we all suppose to do, I think soon.
It will never end, look around, the bombs and bullets don’t lose their sound,
Closer than we know, wake in the night too attacks and loss of life.

IT WAS TIME TO GO HOME
A father and mother not seen for such a long while,
He a son with a family now of his own, a message from home.
Not one last time would he see his mother, a goodbye with tears,
A train ride, long it would be back home to the big woods.
A challenge it would be to make a father say goodbye to a love,
Together again, father and son on a journey back to be with family.
A grandfather who would one last time see a son and say a goodbye,
He didn’t belong in this place where they wanted him to be, not he.
It was time to go home, back to the big woods where the trees grew tall,
Goodbye is said from a grandpa to a child, a granddaughter would cry,
It was time to go home where he could spend the rest of his days and be
Forever together with a wife, his journey too where she would be.

IT FELL FROM THE SKY
It was a clear, warm, starry night, I was feeling alright,
Quiet as the crickets were singing from the dark.
My dog barking at whatever roams in the night,
I find myself here in the country, beautiful as it is.
No complaints in this place away from the noisy world,
For a moment a strange silence came over my surroundings.
My dog was barking but what it was could not be seen by me,
Suddenly the wind not seen howled across the open land.
Dust was blowing, no sound of anything else could be heard,
A rumbling could be heard while the ground shook violently.
A high pitched noise echoed from everywhere, my eyes stared,
A bright light flashed in the night, I saw this, it fell from the sky.

IT DOESN’T JUST HAPPEN TO ME
I got up this morning and looked at my wife,
She looked back at me and said: “I’m leaving tonight.”
Not even a cup of coffee before the crap started,
I showed her my finger then got in the shower.
The water was cold, she used all the hot water,
Couldn’t find the soap, why even bother.
She said her goodbye in a way I could understand,
All my money was gone, she had a new man.
She asked for a divorce, I sais okay by me,
Now her new husband is sleeping where I use to be.
She got the house, she got the car,
She got the dog, even the money I saved in a jar.
When it’s all said and done, what have I gained,
An ex-wife, a new home, a life without pain.

IT CAME FROM THE SKY
A flash of light, it came from the sky, dark of night,
Fast and bright, knocked him to the ground, shot through his eyes.
Where did this energy come from, beyond a starry sky,
What purpose could this serve, changing a man’s life?
It came from the sky and shot a light in his eyes,
Something he would give to his friends, a gift to the world.
It flashed down from the sky, this his birthday night,
A gift and a sacrifice as with time it was to take his life,
What he left behind his friends never forgot.
