MORE THAN A MEMORY

MORE THAN A MEMORY

You drift backwards as I move forward in time,

Existed for but a moment in this world of mine.

You were so very real, more than a memory,

Our distance will come together, again we will meet,

A smile on your face, you meant so much to me.

More than a memory, personality, heart, and soul,

You once walked this land, my father from a moment ago.

I AM MORE THAN A NAME

I AM MORE THAN A NAME

We are each and everyone human, being forgotten,

I have a name but I am much more than this I know.

Not so personal is our world anymore, strangers we are,

I am more than a name, a number, or identification.

A person that has no face or personality to the system,

I am here to let you know that I am real and alive.

I am more than a name, feelings come from within,

Tears are not imaginary, love and hope are daily thoughts.

There is more worth to me than those behind their doors know,

I am more than a name, so much more to say.

BOYS’ FROM LIVERPOOL

BOYS FROM LIVERPOOL

From out of England these four were born,

Back some years ago is what we know.

In Liverpool they started on their road to fame,

They were called the Beatles, remember their name.

To sing of love too sing of pain,

Talented were they, from their hearts they would play.

Known as the fab four, innocent were their smiles,

These young men of British descent would be with us for awhile.

By the name of Paul, on the guitar he could play,

With the voice of words, his thoughts he would say.

John he was called, to the world he was known,

With his written words and guitar, he would go far.

Quiet was George, with a smile so bright,

Oh! could he sing and pick the guitar strings.

On his drums he would hammer and bang as he felt,

Named Ringo like no other but all four were like brothers.

Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, George Harrison, John Lennon.

HE SITS ON HIS THRONE

HE SITS ON HIS THRONE

Making decisions, those at the top with minds so different,

They seek more power, these ones with minds no different.

Sane or not, their thoughts and actions alter our everyday,

Presidents, Kings, rulers of land, what do these tyrants understand.

Dollar signs are the pictures in their minds, money speaks loud,

Behind closed doors, beyond phones that tell secrets to others listening.

He sits on his throne taking care of his own, what does the world have to offer,?

Since so long ago from many distant and near by lands, they rule with dirty hands.

The world is for all to discover, not for any one man to hold with gun in hand,

He sits on his throne, could be stabbed in the back, a position all alone.

FORGIVE THE WORLD LORD

FORGIVE THE WORLD LORD

You created heaven and earth, the universe, you are magnificent,

Are you wondering what could possibly have happened to this place.?

I always had thoughts myself that you knew what was coming long ago,

Did you have tears of joy when so long ago you finished your six day project.

Such a wonderful gift but from the beginning until this day, struggles along the way,

You created man, a most complex mechanism, you knew that nothing would be easy.

You turned the first man loose, knowing that he would most likely stumble and fall,

Such an experiment to give free will and sit back to see what mankind would do.

Forgive the world lord for the many mistakes made, for thinking that destroyed beauty,

For hatred and much non caring of this world, taking for granted what is really temporary.

Forgive the world lord for not saying to you thank you many more times than we shoud have.

AN ALWAYS CHANGING SKY

AN ALWAYS CHANGING SKY

A light shade of gray evenly covering that which lives below,

Clouds so heavy and thick with moisture ready to rain down.

In the early evening as the sun fades many shades of color,

After dark on a clear, stary night you can see forever high.

Big, white fluffy clouds of many shapes sitting still above your head,

With the wind you’ll see their shapes change and drift slowly away.

Thunder and lightening visit a dark, stormy day, the sun is there,

Hiding beyond the blanket of nature, the sun still shines without sight.

An always changing sky, never the same throughout any given day,

The sky is always there, it is the elements that move through and change it.

DARKNESS IN AMERICA

DARKNESS IN AMERICA

Hatred, sickness plots against our homeland, they’re coming,

They’re here in this land, they don’t hide as their faces are seen.

Work with you they do, maybe a smile as they pass you by,

As good people they come in from all sides, they don’t have to sneak.

They step from planes with passports and go about their day,

Cruise do these monsters with no morals on ships, welcome to our home.

We have darkness from sea to shining sea, borders are without safety,

They come from there just as they are over there from here, grow with fear.

A flag they plan to replace with a flag that waves for over two hundred years,

Their message is clear, they say it with the murders of our people, we don’t care.

As they become stronger with power and weapons we sit and wonder but it’s real,

What’s really going on, can we trust anybody anywhere, we hope, don’t think so.

Darkness in America is growing fast, you can see it as the sun shines bright,

Pray that a day does not come when our children need to carry a gun in their hand.

HOUSE ON THE HILL

HOUSE ON THE HILL

It stands above, from the road it is large and quietly mysterious,

Never seen is a person or people but lives there is certainly someone.

An old but beautiful, made of brick and wood house that rests on a hill,

The iron gate that surrounds it says to stay away, its beauty is always.

Appears that this old house on the hill is empty and lonely, from the outside,

There runs water down the side of the house into a lake that shines in the sun.

One can only imagine the appearance of the inside as over the years who did see,

The fact remains that somebody does live in such a place as this, a person not seen.

Why would one so desire to hide from the world or do they simply wish to be left alone,

The mysterious, quiet, house on the hill has stood for many generations as told,

Years of family perhaps at one time were known, what’s inside, a book of stories old.

HOW MUCH LONGER BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE?

HOW MUCH LONGER BEFORE IT’S TO LATE?

We need to open our eyes, we’ve been blind to long,

Look what’s happening to us, there’s something very wrong.

Alone it won’t be done, we must do this together,

All of us take for granted a world we live in is forever.

Overlooking the pollution we pass by each day,

Leaving it to another to make it go away.

Poisoning the resources we must have to survive,

These things that we do, one day surely we will all die.

It’s now time to change, make a difference each one,

To save mankind, let’s all stand as one.

How much longer before it’s to late,

Why do we tempt the thing we call fate.?

It’s a crime what we are doing to the ground and our sky,

It’s time to stop now, it’s our time to make things right.

We can make it work if it gets done now,

To hesitate and delay will only bring sorrow.

A WISE MAN SAID

A WISE MAN SAID

A wise man said, never angry to bed,

Let go of the anger or sorrow that fills your heart.

Think before you act, be wise with your choice,

Put your thoughts together before words come out wrong.

Physical violence is not a last resort,

You’ve traveled too far, now you are lost.

A wise man said you can’t always get what you want,

Things won’t always go your way,

Keep control and pray for another day.

If first you don’t succed try, try again,

When the morning sun rises, another chance you’ll have,

A wise man said but a wise man is one who can keep a clear head.
