COME WITH ME

I’m calling for you, listen too my words,

From heaven down to you, in your soul i am heard.

Leave behind your shell of a man,

Journey to me, with your spirit i will stand.

Don’t be afraid fore there is no more pain,

On the earth you lived, a body and mind.

A new adventure begins, soar up to me,

Again you will live for eternity.

A memory are you to those left behind,

Again they will see you in some distant time.

Heaven and earth, fore all come together,

Human down here, a spirit forever.

HEAL THIS HEART

Inside i am hurt, this pain felt through my soul,

Help me to understand then take it away O’ lord.

Give me the strength to walk each day, the day you give,

Show me how to see the bright and beautiful day instead of

All this dark and gloom clouding my world.

In heaven you stand watching over this land where i am,

Ask do i of you to watch over myself and guide me.

I give my anger to you to cast away, away from this man,

Help me too find a happiness within myself.

Heal my mind, this tired mind of mine,

Heal this heart, my heart.

WIND IN THE FOREST

Wandering, walking, leaving behind this world for awhile,

Letting my footsteps take me beyond what i know, letting go.

Deep, deep into a land of which perhaps there’s no return,

Chances taken by a man with many fears, today i live.

Trees so high that darkness fills the sky, can’t see the light,

Where the moon rests not visible to these searching eyes.

Sounds of the forest are the only company to me,

Speaking words to the trees, does anything listen.

I can feel and hear the wind in the forest,

It speaks in sound, it is with me, it finds me.

THE HOURGLASS

It was created, a strange object of sand filled glass,

Trickles slowly downward to an ending of stillness.

In time the top will have no more, no time left,

Life will be gone here, turned to dust, still like the sand.

The hourglass is carried around by all whom were given life,

It can not be seen just as our time is not known, the sand moves.

We have been given each of us an hourglass, such a strange gift,

The same size for everyone, they drain at different speeds.

Is the hourglass a curse or a friend depending on your circumstance,

The hourglass some day runs out, turned over, it can not be done.

I’M ALWAYS WITH ME

It starts in the morning when i take a look in the mirror,

There i am looking back at me, our morning begins as one.

We do all things together so i’m never without company,

I work in the yard, things are complete when i am with me.

I walk down the street, i’m never behind or in front, i hear my feet,

When i dream i’m always there in bed sleeping with me.

Whatever i do and wherever i go I’m always with me, this is so,

I’m always with me, i follow the road, my shadow and me.

IN ME A HOSTAGE

Free to go away, free to fly away but i stay,

Unlock this prison, it’s safe to walk outside.

Sentenced was i by this man in a mirror,

Hold on tight as through the night chained as i sleep.

A crime of love, guilty and my choice clearly seen,

Scars it carries, in me a hostage clinging to yesterday.

To the ground i fell like a broken doll, crumbled,

A gun to myself pointed, not knowing it was empty.

Behind bars for no reason, put there by a jury of one,

No judge sitting up high, only myself reading the verdict.

I held myself prisoner for many months as the keys sat before me,

With eyes opened i grabbed those keys and let a man free, walk.

IT’S NEVER TO LATE

It’s never to late to open your eyes,

To say a thank you, too show a smile.

It’s never to late to listen with your ears,

Of words said that are needed to be heard.

It’s never to late to be less selfish of a man,

Or too show your love to that special one if you can.

It’s never to late to give of yourself,

Unless there’s no room for change in you and that’s sad.

It’s never to late to try and also do,

Grow as a man and be strong as a rock for yourself.

And those whom love and count on you.

DOES THE SKY DREAM?

The sky is always night somewhere in our world,

Does it dream as it sleeps there where it rests.?

Awake as it does to the morning sunlight,

In another place it goes to bed again for the night.

There are friends all around this wide open space

That watch over each other in its universe.

Does the sky dream,? always as it exists,

What would it say if to us it spoke.?

PROMISES

Blood of a man spills from a wound created,

From a wonderful heart runs blood unseen.

Broken will be our spirits by those we trust,

These are the words of men with no morality.

Promises are made with the slip of a tongue,

Easily spoken from minds without thought.

Hearts and souls, those with no dreams,

They take what they can, from their hands they squeeze.

Promises, promises, words with no character,

From those with no heart, broken, always broken.

THE SAME BENCH

As children, friends were we always hanging out,In the park throwing a football, playing frisbee.

We were like most kids never worrying about the future,

We spent many Summers playing in the sun, running into the years.

There was a bench we would sit on after running around, made of wood,

Laughing and telling jokes, we were the best of friends until the sun set.

My friend went away, life moved on beyond those days, older we became,

As fate would have it we again found one another through the mysteries of life.

The magic of childhood goes away but i believe a piece of it is always there,

We walked and talked, back to the park too where we laughed, we sat on the same bench.
