WE HAVE TODAY

Remember yesterday as we ran through the fields of play,

Children of innocence had much to say, no worries of the day.

Tomorrow has no memory, are we even in its thoughts,?

Tomorrow is our hope, we have today, only today.

For granted is taken the mornings rising sun,

As we slip into slumber, will awake in our beds.?

We have today to breathe as we please, with our eyes we see,

Laugh today, hold on and love as much as we can.

You are energy, you are the raging waters that flow never ending,

You are the sparkle in the sky, the shining star that never dies.

Strength and power are you, stand tall and touch the sky,

Close your eyes, feel as your courage reaches far and wide,

We have today, my hand reaches for you, i am with you.

SAIL AWAY WITH ME

A slight breeze blowing across the bay today, the sun will shine,

A few passing clouds but a great day to sail away with beautiful you.

Free to wander a different part of life, escape together across the water,

What a beautiful day, such a pretty smile on a beautiful face ready to sail.

I brought wine and cheese and If It gets chilly something stronger you see,

A blanket to cover up with as the day loses the sun, some music and some love.

Sail away with me beyond all that we everyday see, just you and me, the sea,

Remember our day together, our time In the sun sailing Along the horizon line.

Sail away with me, forever we’ll sail together until go away forever.

THROUGH DIFFERENT EYES

There we are together standing as the sun disappears,

Only a lonely tree keeps us company, we are alive!.

Many colors rest in the open sky as day turns to night,

We stand together yet apart with our own vision of life.

Through different eyes, do we see the same things,?

As only our thoughts create a separate way of seeing them.

We are two souls occupying the same earth, dreaming, wondering,

Watching the world in two directions, seeing a different way, imagine.

YOU’RE HARD TO FIND

YOU’RE HARD TO FIND

They said you went away, you disappeared without a word,

What made you leave and not say to any a loving goodbye.

I heard about places where you might have gone,

Traveled did i to many a town, not a clue to your whereabouts.

It’s been quite awhile now, memories enter my mind,

People come and go in this world, we’re lucky to have known

Wherever you went, whatever you’re doing, i only hope,

A thought that your life is great and that you’re safe.

I’m pretty sure that god is watching over you anyway,

If ever you need me, i’m easily found, i’ll be thinking of you.

IN HIS ROCKING CHAIR

He sees the day, on his porch the world is his scenery,

The shows are always different, nothing stays the same.

Everyday he rests his weary soul in his special place,

A lifetime of family and friends but slowly they vanish.

If you pass him by then not a care might you have,

He’s not just an old man, a mothers son, once a young man.

In his rocking chair he can go back in time, yesterday in his mind,

He watches the boy running with his friends, an old man at days end.

He has had quite a life as the value of his being does not fade with the days,

His time here has aged him just as it does every mortal being.

Don’t be fooled while this man with a name sits in his rocking chair,

He has much to say from a mouth, eyes that that have watched many seasons,

In his rocking chair he sits taking in the day, he sees the sun going down.

A WALK THROUGH THE YEAR

Oh yes!, January and the beginning of a new year, Winter chill,

All the possibilities and love are here, we move into tomorrow,

A new sunrise is here, we watch as the ever aging of life is clear.

February is nice, a crisp, cool, feeling to the nights, love is in the air,

Set your eyes upon the mountain tops as they are still layered with snow,

A few family birthdays, a slight feel of Winter, rain and some sunny days.

As we follow our path March is the scene, soon Spring is the theme,

We’ll experience this changing season, longer days will arrive, sunset in the night,

Breezy days and clouds of thunder may still pass our way but this is okay.

Here we go!, April shows its look with the blooming flowers everywhere,

The cold is pretty much a memory and Easter is a special day to celebrate,

Beautiful days to awake to, a walk in the park, breeze filled afternoons, the moon after dark.

May as the warm days seem a bit longer, Cinco De, Mayo and a thought of school coming to an end,

This i remember from a lifetime ago that seems like a dream but the seasons still remain,

Nature everywhere is alive, what this month holds for all of us will a little at a time unfold.

June, at times June gloom, Summer coming soon, saying goodbye to a school and at times, a friend,

Heated days are here or making their way, a time for planning a future, college and going away,

Maybe a Summer job, sleeping in was a thing we did when the past was our time to play.

What does July bring, heat of many days, the fourth of July, a day of Independence and celebration,

Summer of fun continued as the beach is a beautiful place to swim in the waves and walk along the shore,

Camping trips to beautiful and peaceful places where you can find yourself or just let go.

August even sounds hot, middle of the Summer, hot and dry with the sun high in the sky,

Always waiting for evening to show, praying for a cool breeze to blow across your face,

The dark of night is such a wanted sight as all becomes still and quiet until mornings light.

Say hello to September, still quite warm outside but the days slowly get shorter by the minute,

As we move into the future of this year and Fall is fast coming, what are we thinking,

Back to school, the future of our children, and our world is questioned as we go about the day.

Take a walk with me into October as the days become minute by minute a little shorter,

Weather stays warm through the days until night falls and temperatures become cooler,

Watch as the leaves begin to change their color, all Hallows Eve will be soon approaching.

There is a sight and sound to November with the leaves falling from the trees, wind from the hills,

Growing colder with the shortened days, Thanksgiving soon will be a feast, thankful for the days,

Once long ago a first celebration of Thanksgiving a different way, pilgrims and Indians, a long ago memory.

We find ourselves now after a long road of ups and downs stepping into a time of December,

The cold winds and snow high above within the mountains, Winter Is just about here, Christmas prayers,

The life of a year will soon come to an end, saying goodbye to many yesterdays, thankful for a year lived.

WHAT WORDS CAN DO

Words and their meanings are written upon paper, In books, they live,

They can be put together to become stories, poems, plays, and movies.

Words can be formed Into sentences so that we may understand one another,

A cry for help, that morning hello or gossip that travels so far and fast.

Words can be the enemy, make others believe false things about another,

Words can hurt If In fact we choose to let them, after all they are only words.

Words can set In motion a chain reaction of anger and misunderstanding,

Words with lies attached are a most dangerous way to say things, listen.

What words can do Is destroy lives, families, friends, and nations,

Build walls that take lifetimes to finally crumble, at times too late.

Words can Indeed heal hearts, they begin lives between two that love,

What words can do, how they’re used, a gift that at times Is abused.

I REMEMBER

So many sunrises, so many sunsets ago, i remember,

A place not forgotten, seemed like magical moments.

A town lost in time but never in this mans mind,

A friend with a name that’s been spoken from inside.

Where did you go when the sun set young man,

Forever have you disappeared from me, where are you.?

I remember when we walked the streets of Yorba,

We were free as two boys could be, Summers of yesterday.

Treasured are for me those wonderful days in the sun,

Skateboards and less troubled times for boys that could run.

A moment never drifts by that i don’t recall my friend known by me,

Marty was your name, pictures of you remain locked inside.

Something not finished, regrets an d memories of less painful days,

I know of your loss fore i have lost too, take a walk back in time dear friend.

I live each day in a place that knows my name, home is far away,

A wish to stand before you and say thank you for a day in the sun with a friend.

TRAVEL WITH THE WIND

Everywhere i would be and the places i would see,

High and low, fast and slow, across the fields we go.

Through the trees, the wind and me, blowing leaves,

I need not hang on, it just carry’s me away as i feel free.

To travel with the wind i am light with not a worry,

I am guided within this incredible force of nature.

I am shown exciting and beautiful scenes as beyond a dream,

Above the ocean so high, touching the wide open sky.

Travel with the wind through the green grassed hills,

In the forest dodging the trees, it is the wind and me.

If i had the chance then i would travel to the past to see,

Travel with the wind through time, see what use to be,

To the future where the wind will surely be waiting for me.

ON A SHIP TO MANY LANDS

Let us take a trip together, we have the time, let’s sail,

We’ll pack our things, board that ship bound for exciting lands.

Around the world we go, traveling across the waters on a ship,

Where we are heading will be to places never seen by our eyes.

Around the world, Australia, Ireland, Greenland, what a world,

Alaska, Switzerland, Hungary, we’ll see it all, we may never go home.

Germany, Italy, France, there’s so much beauty from gods created thoughts,

Scotland, England, on a ship to many lands, across the oceans, on a ship we stand.

We’ll have sailed the seven seas and seen the moon and stars hand in hand.
