WHO IS WATCHING

Are they everywhere, but where, they watch your day,

From high above, beyond the sky satellites fly.

You’re on the phone and you believe you’re alone,

Who listens as you speak in confidence, now who knows.

They do observe you as they fly across the night sky,

Every move that is made can be seen from their eyes.

You’re not alone even on a quiet, still, night,

Checked out or investigated, are you free to wander about.?

Who is watching, from everywhere they see,

Who is free as they watch from all over the world.

THIS I ASKED OF GOD

Please listen to me lord, i ask a favor of you,

There’s a monster in me, it attacks everyday.

A disorder of panic, severe the doctors say,

I’ve asked before that you make it go away.

I thought that you did not listen, hear what i say,

I’d rather have no legs than to fear everyday.

I’ve asked to make you a trade,

Take these legs and make the panic go away.

You have not responded in any kind of way,

Do you not understand this pain in my everyday.

I like to walk but i’d rather not fear the rising sun,

A wheel chair would be fine if only you would take away this horror inside.

You have a reason for not answering my request,

I don’t know what it is but I’ve been told that you know best.

WHAT DOES A WISE MAN DO?

A wise man puts aside his anger before he drifts off to sleep,

A thinker before an act brings much trouble Into his life.

A wise man never bows down to the pressure from his peers,

He must trust In his heart fore his actions are his to answer alone.

A wise man has angry thoughts that hold no consequences from Inside,

If at all they switch to violence then a wise man has no words to be listened to,

What does a wise man do,? He practices In that which he does In fact preach,

He Is not a hypocrite, he Is calm and speaks his words carefully, a wise man Indeed.

He knows that words of stupidity are not a problem behind closed doors,

What does a wise man do,? he thinks before he does anything at all.

HE WANTED TO BE ALONE

High up In the hills away from the crowded hostile world,

He lived alone, a quiet man of peace In his cabin of a home.

A fireplace and a pile of wood, always chopping to keep It warm,

He has all that he needs or wants with a roof above his head.

A man wakes to the morning light, begins his day with a cup of coffee,

A companion joins him for breakfast, a four legged friend of loyalty.

When the days are beautiful and filled with the sun they venture out,

Walking among the trees and the beauty seen high above what lives below.

He wanted to be alone In his made of wood home, he and a friend,

In the night as the crickets are the only sound, a chair and a smoking pipe,

In a cabin on a hill lives a man mostly alone, all that Is needed, a smile and a home.

WAVES IN THE SKY

They move in layers, traveling with the force of the wind,

On a course, always heading for everywhere, not a sound though.

There’s a rumble that comes, the sound of an approaching storm,

From above all Is not calm, with a mind of Its own It then attacks.

How long will this last, until It weakens and the winds take It ,

Waves In the sky are most unusual and mysterious way up high.

They roll on to where we can not see, they are waves In the sky,

Gone away and forgotten, not so much thought about really.

Until another day when waves In the sky come rolling over our heads,

The water gently crashing on our heads, no sand anywhere I say,

Waves In the sky, our world upside down once In awhile.

MY NAME IS GEORGE

I have a home, it’s not like yours, there are no rooms,

If i am to have heat then it comes from the sun.

My bathroom rests not in one spot, it moves,

No air conditioner have i, the coolness comes from the night air.

My shower is not always working, at times i am not clean,

I have a bed, it is wherever i may lay.

My refrigerator is always empty, it’s a thing i do not own,

My sink is a bucket of water or a puddle i may find.

I own a television, it is all that i see,

It only turns off when asleep i may be.

There are no chairs, a sofa to rest upon,

My windows are the world, a roof, only what’s above me.

A yard i have extens very far,

Wherever i may be, nature is all around me.

My name is George, do not be George.

DISORDERS OF THE MIND

To have a physical illness is of the normal as we are hurt in a day,

Might even get a little sympathy for that brain tumor or decaying spine.

When it comes to disorders of the mind then we are on our own,

The medical world doesn’t care as authorization for what’s not there is denied.

My thoughts and questions come to life as which is mental but what becomes both,

Disorders of the mind are a serious matter, they are a disease not a made up fantasy.

To be denied by society is a horrible injustice but let me tell you a worse thing,

When your family and friends really don’t want to hear and let me say they don’t wish to listen.

Accept this fact and move on, we try to explain and hope they’ll understand and be of support,

I know just as well as all of you that those you keep telling are laughing, rolling their eyes.

Get over it! don’t be such a baby, it’s all in your mind, what the hell is wrong with you,

“Let me tell you what’s wrong” I like many others have a disease that comes along and attacks.

It doesn’t feel good, we suffer each day with this monster that won’t leave us alone, it finds us,

It is strong, our battle is much but we must be stronger or it will take everything from us.

This terrible disorder of the mind has other names, we speak of panic disorder, Agoraphobia,

You can’t just say go away! It angers me to hear this from people, make your ignorance go away.

It is said that it won’t kill you, we fight but it steals from us while we attempt to work and play,

Please recognize and understand that this pain inside our brains does not discriminate and is real.

IN THE EVENING

Darkness falls, the sun drifts off to sleep in this part of the land,

Dinner is served as hunger rests in my stomach and mind.

I’m tired as this is my time to relax and enjoy shows of the night,

Comedy is my friend as i forget the hardship and worldly problems.

A candle glowing on a table is a peaceful sight in this room with soft light,

The crickets can be heard from the yard in the evening quiet.

Slowly fading into a beautiful dream state on the couch with a drink,

The blinds are closed and the door opened as the lights are turned out.

A snack and thoughts of the coming days and all that may be are dreamed,

In the evening i can lay in the dark, close my eyes and drift off to different sounds.

In the evening i am at peace as the dark, quiet, world soothes my never ending soul.

WHEN YOU THINK YOU KNOW ME

I have had my share of physical and emotional hurt, I stand strong,

When It Is said that I’m a mean sort of man, then you don’t know who I am.

If talk about me and criticism without the facts behind my back Is what you choose,

Not a friend of mine you will find when your mouth opens much to wide.

My struggles are accepted, I bow down to no one for anything,

I’ve been laughed at for my writing by mostly those whom should love and support me.

When you think you know me whether you do or you don’t,

What kind of person might you be If you wish failure and hurt on me.

Music is fine as Bruce Springsteen the boss Is one listened to anytime,

I walk the miles and feel sorry for those whom wear not a smile.

If you have not a care then shake not this mans working hand,

When you think you know me, think again, are you really family or friend.

WHEN I WRITE

Close your eyes and see If a picture comes to mind,

A thought about something seen out in the world.

Could It be possibly a scent In the air that holds a memory,

Tasting a favorite food that reminds one of a place in time.

When I write there are many possibilities that come to life,

I might just close my eyes for a moment and breathe.

A title appears In my mind, words from feelings arrive,

Inspiration comes from different things that are explored.

When I write day or night the world belongs to me,

Whatever I write when I write Is share for you to read.
