I TURNED NINETY FOUR

Do you recall being thirteen, So long ago for me, Like a dream,

Playing with friends, girls and boys whom I haven’t seen for years.

Where are they, I wonder If my old school mates are alive, once a child,

Growing up as a teen full of energy, malt shops, drive-In movies, and T.V.

A few friends still In touch with Is a most special gift of all, I recall,

Vietnam came along, A sad song, some boys I once knew are now gone.

Times have changed, music, cars, dancing, and those long lost childhood ways,

I was once thirteen with dreams of growing up and having a wonderful family.

These things of wonder are now all gone, once my future now the past,

I was at a time very young playing In the sun, Sitting here now I am old,

I turned ninety four, memories of a life playing In the sun with friends now gone.

WHAT’S OUT THERE?

Take a look up in the air, beyond the clouds, high above the blue,

If you can’t see that far then put to use your great Imagination.

What’s out there where we have never been, never seen or dreamed,

The moon stands out in the sky, the sun taken for granted as we assume it will be there.

With the naked eye Venus and Mars are seen every clear, beautiful night,

Every so often the night shows us a shooting star traveling across the universe.

There are many mysterious and unknown things not yet discovered through the cosmos,

Comets we can’ not put a number to or even imagine how far away they soar in the darkness.

Why is it that the sun lights up our days with warmth but gives no light to a spectacular sight,

We can only breathe the air up so high, beyond that tell me why the air of life is nowhere to be found.

Billions of stars appear to rest right before our searching eyes in the night, touch we can not,

How far if we traveled would these things be seen, would we live so long to even dream.

What’s out there? in how many directions may we go to find all the answers to be known,

Will the universe continue forever, will we learn all as we travel one day to heaven.

THE WOLF IS ALWAYS AT THE DOOR

Knock! knock! who can that be at my door, not in the sense that you’ll hear,

The day may start out great and for all you know a day so wonderful.

You stroll peacefully out the door on perhaps a nice sunny day,

To the mailbox you arrive, surprise, surprise, what might be inside.

People are everywhere trying hard for a better life but they are watching,

Whom is out there keeping tabs on you, eyes watching from beyond the sky,

Satellites roaming day and night, do they keep watch over evil or our everynight.

Helicopter’s circle in the dark, through your windows do they take notice of all you do,?

So you think your phone you own, they listen to your words, know where you go.

The computer is great but watch what it is you write or say, they know how to read,

Criminals of great intelligence are among us, they quietly roam the world seeking

They’ll take your identity or maybe your life, scams of plenty that will ruin your day,

The wolf is always at the door, a face that changes more and more, day by day.

The man is out there, eyes and ears are hidden from your view, be very aware and careful.

IN THE LIGHT

Fully having faith Is to believe that you know no matter what happens,

Too find out that you are dying and may suffer through It all or go quickly

That there Is a better place, you will not ever again be In pain or sad.

You will not lay In a dark box alone with no breath afraid forever,

When you die what happens If you choose to stay, not want to go away.?

In the light, Is that where we are suppose to go, how will we know,?

What’s there In the light, Is It a path to the creator of all life.?

In the light will we see a spectacular sight, will their be family waiting,

In the light things are not known until It be our time to go.

When It’s time, with faith you’ll walk In the light without fright.

BREATHE FOR ME

Step outside Into the morning light, Breathe deep, breathe In life,

Precious Is the day, whom doesn’t give thanks for many a breath always.

Breathe for me as your life force Is seen with each day, with eyes of green,

Breathe for me so that you don’t go away, for you I ‘ll breath more each day.

God gives the breath of life but for granted It Is that all the world takes,

Air Is special, the cleaner It remains the happier and longer we might be.

Breathe for me, Breathe In all the life there Is to be.

READ ME A STORY

You’ve come to my door, thanks for honoring my request,

Please! step Inside and make yourself at home, I’m about ready.

A story Is what I want, something that will take me away to another place,

Read me a story about a great adventure that’s not a possibility.

Read me a story so that I may forget my struggles of this day,

I’ll lay my head upon this pillow so soft as you read me a story so great.

You are a woman whom tells stories of far off lands and places never real,

You take away the stress that lives Inside, You save my tiring life.

Thank you always as I drift off to sleep peacefully dreaming beautiful things,

When I awake to the morning light It Is always that you are gone.

WHERE THE WIND BLOWS

WHERE THE WIND BLOWS

Where does the wind go when it’s no longer here,

Does it travel to far off places, will the same wind reappear.?

If it blows across the ocean has it a plan of its own,

Are their many different winds, who would know.

It passes us by in an instance of time,

Cool or warm, soft it may feel,

Wicked with speed, fierce it may be.

Where the wind blows is a mystery only god knows,

Beyond the clouds, across the mountains it flows.

It has not a face as it makes itself known,

Since the beginning of time, where does the wind blow.?

Where the wind blows, many think they know,

From long ago many souls have followed and never

Have seen where it goes, where the wind blows.

voices

Around us we hear those whom speak,

Words and phrases to others whom will hear.

So many different tones from mouths each day,

Softly spoken or In a deep mean way.

Talking a lot Is a way for some,

Fast and unclear Is another way too.

We hear many voices as we spend our day,

Talking about their lives and crying about their pain.

Voices are heard singing songs,

Which makes us happy and bring our emotions outside.

On the phone there are voices, to us spoken words,

We can’t even see them but still they are heard.

Without voices we will not be heard,

If we are not heard then there Is silence.

LOUD NOISES, CLOWNS, AND NUNS

Within my day there are everywhere sounds that i do not wish to hear,

Loud noises are most Irritating and painful to these listening ears.

They come from many places as my mind scrambles them in and out,

There are many beautiful sounds but not so special are loud noises around.

Their faces change, they wear disguises of a variety of emotion,

There’s something different about them as they play and entertain.

What’s behind their painted masks, it takes a certain type of soul,

Some have a fear of them, a legend or story about the clowns.

They serve a greater purpose as they are servants of the lord,

Dressed a most different way than others, their life they give in a special way.

Nuns have walked the earth and sacrificed much to live a life for others,

And nuns i have met, the same as you and i, flesh and blood, they also cry.

IF I WALKED ALONE

Sometimes we wish and find there to be another side of It,

When this world appears to be to much for me to handle

I sometimes wish that there were no people In this land.

If I walked alone at times I might think a dream come true,

No noise would be a pleasure but when would the quiet be a curse.

Walking through the streets beneath the light of the sun,

All alone such a peaceful journey until the day Is done.

Darkness will come, a place not special for me, a night alone an eternity,

If I walked alone everything would be mine to call my own.

Watch what you wish for as there are two sides to every want,

If I walked alone then alone I would be,

No value or meaning without another to see.
