VIEW FROM A CLIFF

Alone, high above the wandering ocean is where I spend my day,

Wind can not be seen but it makes a sound, feel It all around.

Thinking Is a constant thing that I do, Free under a clear sky I can breathe,

The sun shines high In the sky, somewhere beyond, heaven watches down.

For miles and endless miles from so up high I can see forever the ocean wide,

There are birds and seagulls soaring across the sky, I stand here wondering about life.

Where I am Is oh! so high but what Is high, to reach above and touch the stars,

Waves crashing against the rocks with a powerful force, such an awesome sound.

Above the world It seems as this view from a cliff Is a most amazing sight,

With the dark of night approaching, I say goodbye to a beautiful place.

YOU DIDN’T LISTEN, OR UNDERSTAND

I’m sorry I couldn’t get you to listen, you didn’t want to hear,

So sorry when I tried to explain, you responded with a hand to my face.

I couldn’t quite understand when you asked a question of me,

I had no time to finish with an answer, to attack was all you could understand.

You didn’t listen, or understand, because you showed no care, what a man,

I was not a child of perfection, I’m sorry you had to teach me with pain.

Never would you believe in me whether right or wrong,

I saw the anger on your face, did the raising of your hand make you feel strong.

You had no right, did you even think, I was just a kid, you were suppose to be a man,

I’m sorry you had your problem, do you remember being a boy,

Did your dad use a belt like you, well Mr. I’ll always remember your name.

IF I EVER GROW OLD

From where my world began throughout my travels to different lands,

The history of my life up until this point has been written and put in a box.

I’m still young, but what is young, a number attached to the years lived here,

It’s a feeling inside, energy that you put out and the wanting of life keeps you young.

If I ever grow old then I’ll have been the lucky one, given a gift of more time to dream,

My book of life will be full of pages that describe who I am and then one day was.

There will be many thoughts and memories of a mans life, pictures of my existence,

Will I be forever remembered or perhaps thought of by those still living.

Will only the name of me, that which was given be all that rests of my life,

If I ever grow old will I be of good health and mind to sit back in a rocking chair

So that my children or Grandchildren may listen to me as I share my thoughts.

If I ever grow old then to the lord I’ll thank for this book of life full of stories told.

LOVE FOR A LIFETIME

They were two growing up as children, a town that still exists,

Ages does it just as in some ways a boy and girl grow slowly older.

I remember you both, names for souls whom i once knew in a place,

A wonderful town where for me dreams were a beginning in my mind.

An elementary school high on a hill is where you, a young boy played,

A school yard of kickball and many other games, your voice echoes today.

You , a girl remembered back at a Jr. high where friends are heard in the wind,

Through high school two would travel then beyond that a new road to walk.

Although i haven’t seen you for thirty years I see that you two have been blessed,

Love for a lifetime, a rare and special gift, a book of your lives, chapters to be written.

LOSING FAITH

Not in god have I lost my faith but in society, the human race,

Back stabbing liars, it may be that they are friend or foe.

Family, there can be nothing more Important or precious in life,

In the end at times it is that strangers they’ve become, a tragedy it is.

The work place, to give your heart and soul for such a long while,

No more words do they speak as their backs are turned on you.

Soon we’ll have no name, a number is all that remains, so Insane,

Around our world, deception, crime, and corruption never go away.

Losing faith, again not with god In heaven but in what Is called humanity,

Not about negativity or being of positive thoughts, something is wrong.

We are at the mercy of an entity, those we do not see, power and money Indeed,

There is no control for us the average mortal being, we live in the lions den.

“ZEN”

A zen master, it’s a way of life, a choice to be,

Peace and harmony come together as one.

It is a man whom can be called many names and

Just smile and keep on walking,

The sky is up high, the ground beneath my feet.

I have absolute peace,

There is a difference between illusion and reality.

False scenes created from ones own thoughts,

Zen is a togetherness of ones body and mind.

This school of Buddhism was created in China, sixth century,

A total state of focus, i know who i am, that i am, awake and where i am.

SIRENS IN THE NIGHT

What is it that takes from us the quiet peace of the night,

Sitting back relaxing, sounds come screaming from a distance.

Painful to the ears and mind, not pleasant this sound at times,

Blessings of music if at this moment a life may be on the line.

Lights of beauty or lights of darkness and pain are noticed in the dark,

Different lights and sirens depending on what danger haunts the night.

A fire in a house, a soul stricken with sickness takes a team of heroes seen,

Crime in the streets, those without morals come out after the sun fades away.

Another type of man and woman steps out into the dark when bad shows up,

Sirens in the night, sirens of peace, sirens and lights that might save a life.

THE BULLY

He has a name, lives does he in a neighborhood, maybe yours,

You have met him before, perhaps a lifetime ago in school, he still lives.

He knows of many people and he’ll meet many more, not a friend is he,

I saw him once before, not in a dream but in my childhood reality.

More than one time did I meet him, he thought he was special as

He followed me through my younger days or waited for me to get to school.

He never goes away fore he is the cowardly bully whom waits everyday,

Always seeking out the weak, scared, and usually the peaceful one.

The bully torments until his weakness and cowardly ways are found out,

Although he will lose his power, again he is born with another face.

I still to this day see the bully and he has many faces of ugliness,

He can no longer touch me, He knows i’m not afraid.

The bully goes to far and each day he disappears.

BREATHE FOR ME

Step outside Into the morning light, Breathe deep, breathe In life,

Precious Is the day, whom doesn’t give thanks for many a breath always.

Breathe for me as your life force Is seen with each day, with eyes of green,

Breathe for me so that you don’t go away, for you I ‘ll breath more each day.

God gives the breath of life but for granted It Is that all the world takes,

Air Is special, the cleaner It remains the happier and longer we might be.

Breathe for me, Breathe In all the life there Is to be.

WHY ARE THEY PUT AWAY?

Discarded, locked away as if they matter no more,

Their lives are precious, are they valued as once before.

At times not anymore, they were at a time young and full of life,

Listened to and heard by those around, family and friends maybe gone.

It just might do us all good to think about growing old but not alone,

Would we want to be cast away, said goodbye to and put away one day.

Why are they put away, Do they become useless or a burden to society.?

It’s forgotten that wisdom and much still to offer lives inside them, they matter.

The day will soon enough appear when we will become they, don’t put us away,

Why are they put away, they decay when life is taken from them, they speak so listen carefully.
