BEACHES AND OCEANS

To love the beach, walking along the sand so warm,

Looking ahead of me at the pier in the distance.

The feel of the wind as i’m walking along the wet, sandy shore,

The sun shining in the sky, seagulls flying in search for food.

My thoughts are of many things as i dream of lifes pleasures,

At peace i am strolling along listening, always listening.

The waves are a beautiful sight, musical tunes crashing upon the shore,

The horizon seems like forever as i stare in silence at its mystery.

Shadows from clouds darken the ocean but only a touch,

The wonders of life that live beneath the waters are seen from within.

Beaches and oceans have been forever,

There’s a great love for me as they go on together.

STANDING IN THE RAIN

It was dark, I glanced out of the window and saw him,

Tall with dark hair, a sweatshirt soaked from the falling rain.

Why was he out there, by a tree he stood watching the rain fall,?

Clouds of many, darkness was everywhere, he stood drenched.

I wasn’t going to open the door as I was curious but a little scared,

Was I mean for not showing care, He was a stranger, why was he there.?

Standing In the rain, where did he come from, what was his name,?

Good or bad, I did not care, I walked away and left him standing In the rain.

WHILE WE SLUMBER

In the dark of night, quiet, all things sit still,

Do they, while we slumber is all quiet and still.

What goes on while we dream, Is the house the same,

Are we safe with our eyes closed, does something watch.

What noises, creeks, or anything live within the silence,

when we’re asleep what is it we do not see, things of everyday.

The doors do not move just as the chairs remain in place,

We might think the house comes to life in our wondering minds.

How can we truly know while we slumber the happenings around us,

Fore we must sleep or forever dream with one eye open to the darkness.

While we slumber, we should not fear or have to wonder.

WHAT DOES A WISE MAN DO?

A wise man puts aside his anger before he drifts off to sleep,

A thinker before an act brings much trouble Into his life.

A wise man never bows down to the pressure from his peers,

He must trust In his heart fore his actions are his to answer alone.

A wise man has angry thoughts that hold no consequences from Inside,

If at all they switch to violence then a wise man has no words to be listened to,

What does a wise man do,? He practices In that which he does In fact preach,

He Is not a hypocrite, he Is calm and speaks his words carefully, a wise man Indeed.

He knows that words of stupidity are not a problem behind closed doors,

What does a wise man do,? he thinks before he does anything at all.

UNDER A TREE, SHE CRIES

A sunny day, a shaded tree, she rests,

See her do I as passing by, she cries.

Why do you he tears, what makes you cry,?

Such a beautiful day, do things not go your way.?

Why do I cry asks the man walking by, why,?

A friend has just died, she wanders now in the sky.

Sick was she as on this day god has taken her away,

Forever missed will be a friend of mine, not fair I say.

Hear what I say as under a tree you cry,

Her pain and suffering are no more, listen too just why.

She lies on the earth as her spirit so happy, says goodbye,

Laughing with Angels, walking forever with the lord up so high.

Under a tree she cries, I walked her way at a most perfect time.

WHERE WENT MY PURPOSE?

Lost at times, feelings of dispair and worthlessness,

My existence appears meaningless at this point in time.

Work has always been my everyday, a year now gone away,

I thought i had found a place, an escape from that which has faded.

A peaceful, mysterious, world of writing where i am the guide,

Working out in my yard, a piece of land of solitude, i thought.

That’s not who i am, rest and relaxation is good for the moment,

Roaming the land by foot, wandering great distances in thought.

Listening in my head to words and instruments of beautiful music,

Many things, hobbies or projects to fill my days while i dream away.

My purpose in life, where did it go, am i thinking and seeing the wrong way,

My working days that for now and maybe forever have gone away,

Was that it or is my purpose around me everyday, my life in everyway.

“BLESSED”

I’ve witnessed the ugliness in the world,

Walked amongst it throughout my time.

What then is its worth, have i missed something,?

I know of the good, the great and wonderful things.

At times that which is around me gets clouded,

Sadness and anger are seen on many a face.

Within all of this i am blessed,

Yes! blessed with ongoing life,

Blessed with friends and family,

Blessed with the love of a caring woman.

I’ve seen both sides of life and i am blessed.

GLOVES ON HIS HANDS

He trains on his own, a hard and painful, lonely, road,

Up with the sun, a day that’s never done.

A boxing man, at times beaten and battered,

Win or lose, he’ll give it all that he can.

Blood is hs sacrifice, swollen knuckles and hands,

Stands and faces the enemy, twelve rounds if he can.

Knocked to the canvas, back on his feet is this man,

Eyes that are half closed, strength of a warrior.

This chosen life, a courageous man with gloves on his hands,

A champion, a winner no matter the outcome.

DRIVE! JUST DRIVE

Jump into my car, the motor is running,

The morning sun is shining on this beautiful black machine.

I’ve put the top down, we’re gonna drive, just drive,

Feel the wind blowing through your hair, music in our ears.

Let’s head for the coast, we’ll drive along the ocean shore,

Miles, and miles of open road, watch as the waves touch the sandy beach.

Let’s drive far, we have all the time we desire,

Through the hills of green grass, we’ll drive the country roads,

For miles there’s only you and me, drive! just drive.

Nothing but beauty is seen as we head for anywhere,

High into the mountains is where our day takes us.

Almost to the sky, we can see everything from where we drive,

We drive into the night, we drive, just drive.

JUDGED AND JAILED

My quest for peace should be an easily obtained request,

I am one whom may be of anger but is not of violence.

Ask only do i to be left alone when so desired,

If not left alone as i’ve asked then on the defense i am.

When walking then i am on the move in my own space,

To be stopped, detained without respect or descency

Will be a warning of much dislike.

When quiet and of no threat it is that i am called unfriendly,

These words spoken from lips of those of ignorance and judgement.

There are two faces, two different sides to the world,

To be judged and jailed does not have to mean of guilt.

False sentences, deception, motives of ones dark side,

This can be a prison without walls or a locked door.

There’s an invisible jury, one that can’not be seen,

It lives among us each day, why does it not go away.

My quest for peace has been long searched for,

It lives within me as my walls are built brick, by brick,

I am the guard, i hold the key, nothing can take this from me.
