LAY YOUR HEAD UPON MY CHEST

I can see that something Is quite wrong, things didn’t go your way today,

Tell me, could It be that life did not shine down upon you as you walked this day.?

Find your way towards me and I will gently wipe those tears from such a pretty face,

Smile for me as I let you know that a day Is only a day and a brighter tomorrow shall be.

Take off those shoes and rest yourself by this warm fire made for such a cold, rainy, day,

A shower first, well of course but as you’re doing that I’ll get read a bottle of wine as you desire.

See you In a few my dear, for myself a drink to warm the bones while I am glad that you are home,

Feel better now,? here you go, a nice glass of wine, your day does not seem so bad now does It.?

Lay your head upon my chest and tell me of your day, we’ll enjoy a wonderful night, I promise.

THEY ARE THE EAGLES

As they step onto the stage, these professional four,

Play as they do like never I’ve seen before.

The lights shine with colors around as they play,

Their music so brilliant, out come the words.

Emotion and energy from the Instruments they play,

Songs from these men touch the heart to this day.

Don Henley by name sings from his soul,

Back from the seventies, he never gets old.

Glen Frey started It a long time ago,

This band Is his, they go where he goes.

Joe Walsh had his band before he became an Eagle,

With his Guitar and voice he adds to this legend.

Timothy B. Schmit, the voice of quiet sound,

Along with a guitar, makes this foursome completely round.

I AM THE TIGER

I roam through the jungle, this Is my home,

My daily survival depends on the skills I’ve been taught.

To find my own way, too search for food,

Is everyday, these things that I do.

I’m fast and strong, part of what I am,

If growl as I move, they know coming I am.

My colors and stripes say I am the tiger,

I’m a cat by nature, I live by the fight.

THE REST OF MY LIFE

Lucky, ever so fortunate to have experienced a childhood,

There comes a time when It like everything must disappear.

Most things turn to memory, traveling down the road we go,
.

We all have a lifetime no matter the length of our visit here.

From today until forever I have the rest of my life to see things,

My road may not be so long or It could be that I have a longer life left.

What’s ahead of me Is partially known just as the rest remains a mystery,

The rest of my life Is truly a gift from god that will continue until no more,

The rest of my life will be a journey like none before, I see today, tomorrow maybe.

DO YOU KNOW THESE PEOPLE?

They are shadows of friends long since gone,

They are men and women, friendly or not, they are.

They stand there co- workers, strangers not yet known,

Husband, wives, boyfriends or girlfriends, past and present.

A chance their’s a brother, sister missed for some time,

Ghosts from memories of a long time ago, friend or foe.

A mother or father, one for awhile missed, the other forver,

Once stood where you could see, now shadows In eternity.

Do you know these people, can you recognize their faces,

From different times and different places.

A PLACE WHERE DREAMS ARE MADE

There Is a place, It takes a lot to get there, a search everyone must make,
There’s a place, It might be so far from where you stand or closer than thought.
A place where dreams are made rests deep Inside the heart, desire to succeed,
They are made with hard work and sacrifice, up late Into the night, weary eyes.
Running every morning before the sunrise catches up with you, make that dream come true,
Climbing the mountain until the pain disappears Into a numbing nightmare of fight.
Rowing across the channel against the ferocious water, It’s up to you to make It back to shore,
You can do It!, this Is a place where dreams are made, battle through what tries your mind.
Through the jungle you make you way, nothing stops a man whom dreams of a better place,
Don’t give up, say this to yourself as you struggle for that fifty, fifty chance to make It a dream.
You are the men, the women whom run when the bell rings, sirens take you beyond the danger,
Remember, It was all of you whom passed the test so that a life may be saved, you had a dream.
Do you carry a gun? a badge worn everyday from sun till sun, this was your dream my friend,
To win each day Is to go home and walk through that door with a kiss for a a family, you survived,
A place where dreams are made, Inside the human soul, the spirit of those whom never choose to lose.

THIS IS MY LAND

Generations have passed, presidents as well as times have changed,

Hundreds of years It has been that my family has worked this land.

From the days of the revolutionary war when my great, great, grandfather

Fought along side many family, friends, and neighbors to be free.

Again In eighteen twelve my great grand father went to war for freedom,

My grandfather all the way down the line fought for the land we claimed and own.

The Civil War and every other war created for money or to take ownership of what Is wanted,

My family not only took part to defend this country and fight within It but we also fought

For what was and remains In our family, this Is my land and no person of power or not

Will ever approach and take with force this land without a fight, without gun In hand.

FROM OUT OF MY WINDOW

I gazed outside at a bird on a limb,

So many clouds made my light very dim.

The things I see are not so new,

From out of my window, a simple view.

I stand here watching as time goes by,

I listen for the sound, I can hear nature cry.

The wind passes by, through the trees It blows,

Stare out at the night, watch as the moon glows.

As day becomes night and the night turns too day,

Time does not stand still but from out of my window

I see things things my own way.

HEART OF A WINNER

I’ve struggled In search of the worth of a man, to be a winner,

Questions I’ve asked, thoughts of the value from within the human heart.

Created not of money or material things, objects, treasures that we hold,

Born within us, no! not an Inherited trate, the heart of a winner.

In the morning awake do we to the rising sun, we’ve just begun,

From our nightly slumber we stand and face the day, each day.

What drives us, what moves us along, perhaps survival,

It Is the man, the woman whom strives to achieve In which we see.

To the mountain top we may never get but we’ll keep on climbing,

We do not stop fore one day a hope that It will be there,

Standing tall with your head held high, not In the physical sense.

But a feeling In the heart, a place In the mind,

To strum the guitar till the tune Is through, finish what you’ve started.

Shoes on your feet, each day a trek to work, at the end a mile home,

Not to win the game or conquer the fight.

Give It your all and sleep for the night.

I do not know where my road will take me, what I battle has no ending,

I stand here a winner for all that I have accomplished,

A winner Is one whom strives to make tomorrow a better day.
