ALIVE ON THE INSIDE

There was a time when as a small boy I ran and played like others,

Reading books was my everyday thing, I remember a child’s life.

Something was happening to me but I was scared and hoped It would fade,

A shaky hand turned Into a life that would become a hell not for any man.

Slowly as I age and young still I decay In my mind, my body does not function,

Control of my soul Is not mine as this horrible monster conquers what Is mine.

I do not realize that time goes by In the length of so many years as I’m dead but alive,

My existence Is known and seen by strangers and a mother but no, not me.

I’m alive on the Inside but they think I’ve gone far, far, away, I have something to say,

If what Is hell could be worse than where I am then I should not complain about my pain.

I want them to know that I am alive Inside, I am a person that has only died on the outside,

I am alive! I am alive!.

“KARMA”

What goes around comes around, or Is It all upside down,

People get what they deserve but who are those whom deserve.?

We get what we get, what kind of philosophy would that be,

Are we punished by god In the end or Is there on going punishment.

‘Karma” the belief that what you do bad or good will In fact effect you,

The thought that a person will suffer the consequences for their wrong.

It appears that so many escape all the criminal acts that they do In life,

Could It be that through all of this that their everyday Is In some way a prison.

I believe we all pay each day for that which we do In a bad way,

Unless we are of good or change our ways then again one day we will surely pay.

THEY DON’T WEAR MY SHOES

I walk fore It Is that I can not drive, I make my way to where I go,

Shopping Is a chore but I do It on foot and carry many bags home.

I have to do It In the rain, heat, but I see things that they don’t notice,

With my headphones singing to me I take notice of that which Is alive.

I have been judged by those whom have no morality, they speak words of Ignorance,

If I am lost In silence then I am called the bad mood, grouchy man, I am with peace.

We can all argue till the end of the world who has a harder time In life, yay!,

I work harder than you, my job Is more stressful, some make more money and pay the price.

I have a most difficult life In all that I see Is a hardship that only I can really understand,

They talk a good talk as my everyday Is nothing to them, they care nothing about my Pain.

My dreams are unreal to them, these dreams I dream are a reality they can’t see,

They don’t wear my shoes, they can’t walk my walk, they can’t win the battle I fight.

They don’t wear my shoes so their words of wisdom are of no use until they walk my road.

THE WEIGHT OF THE WORLD

Heavy It Is, It weighs on everyone’s shoulders, the world hurts,

What to do as our world gets smaller and the number of souls grow.

Crowded, the skies are filled with flying machines heading everywhere,

Traffic lights soon will stand upon our oceans, cars may suddenly stop.

Where will all the trash go, It finds Its way Into the streets, nobody sees,

Plow It under, pretend It goes away, Into the drains chemicals make their way.

Competition to rule the world, how many bombs can be made before Insanity sets one free,

Fake smiles from those whom share power, privacy Is nomore as they are out there watching.

Weight of the world, It Is upon all of our shoulders but not one of us Is really In control,

We are all at the mercy of the universe but we have been given a piece of It as a gift,

The life Is being drained from It, whom or what watches as we tear It apart, we have nowhere to go.

WHAT WORDS CAN DO

Words and their meanings are written upon paper, In books, they live,

They can be put together to become stories, poems, plays, and movies.

Words can be formed Into sentences so that we may understand one another,

A cry for help, that morning hello or gossip that travels so far and fast.

Words can be the enemy, make others believe false things about another,

Words can hurt If In fact we choose to let them, after all they are only words.

Words can set In motion a chain reaction of anger and misunderstanding,

Words with lies attached are a most dangerous way to say things, listen.

What words can do Is destroy lives, families, friends, and nations,

Build walls that take lifetimes to finally crumble, at times too late.

Words can Indeed heal hearts, they begin lives between two that love,

What words can do, how they’re used, a gift that at times Is abused.

LISTEN TO YOUR SONG

Hear It, take In all the beauty of the words that sing out In a story,

Listen to the music that sounds out In magical rhythm to the ear.

This Is your song, the greatness of It need only matter to you,

There lives no better song than the one created for you to love.

Whatever the song, the artist, matters not fore you are the listener,

You are the one whom gets your own special feeling from within.

Listen to your song as It becomes you, dreaming and Imagining you are the one,

It Is you singing out to the crowd while In return they are cheering, eyes are on you.

This Is your fantasy, an escape for a moment, perhaps turns to a someday reality,

This Is your song, over and over, whenever you choose, sing It as It Is you.

I TURNED NINETY FOUR

Do you recall being thirteen, So long ago for me, Like a dream,

Playing with friends, girls and boys whom I haven’t seen for years.

Where are they, I wonder If my old school mates are alive, once a child,

Growing up as a teen full of energy, malt shops, drive-In movies, and T.V.

A few friends still In touch with Is a most special gift of all, I recall,

Vietnam came along, A sad song, some boys I once knew are now gone.

Times have changed, music, cars, dancing, and those long lost childhood ways,

I was once thirteen with dreams of growing up and having a wonderful family.

These things of wonder are now all gone, once my future now the past,

I was at a time very young playing In the sun, Sitting here now I am old,

I turned ninety four, memories of a life playing In the sun with friends now gone.

EVERYTHING COMES WITH A PRICE

Not only do we pay to live In every way but also  with what we say,

To eat, have water, we must pay with a coin, a dollar hard earned.

The air we breathe, even dirt has a price on It, once something free,

Today, the time has come when nothing Is free, greed, pay or have nothing.

Love has Its own special price, much work and sacrifice Is most needed,

It too can be lost If not a daily concern, friendship has value, don’t take for granted.

When doing the right thing then there Is also a price to be paid In another way,

Standing up for that which we believe In, too speaking out loud has a big price.

Marching against, protesting, going against the law, right or wrong has Its price,

Everything comes with a price, growing old If ever so lucky comes with a trade,

One day we give our lives to god, the thanks for a life, with our souls we pay.

SAIL AWAY WITH ME

A slight breeze blowing across the bay today, the sun will shine,

A few passing clouds but a great day to sail away with beautiful you.

Free to wander a different part of life, escape together across the water,

What a beautiful day, such a pretty smile on a beautiful face ready to sail.

I brought wine and cheese and If It gets chilly something stronger you see,

A blanket to cover up with as the day loses the sun, some music and some love.

Sail away with me beyond all that we everyday see, just you and me, the sea,

Remember our day together, our time In the sun sailing Along the horizon line.

Sail away with me, forever we’ll sail together until go away forever.

A TRUE OLYMPIAN

What seems like a lifetime of preparation and hard work Is here,

Sacrifice, blood, and sweat have been understood throughout.

For years getting ready for the ultimate competition Is recognized,

Whatever the battle you’ve been preparing for Is close, are you ready.

Stand and face your opponent, hold your head high and face your fear,

Strong Is the athlete whom does finish whether win or lose, still a victory.

To make It there, be chosen to represent a country Is already a winner,

Raise your hand high In the air, wave the flag of colors and be also proud.

You are a true olympian, If you worked that hard and made It, head held high and proud.
