CATCH A DREAM
We chase, search out and run as fast as we can,
While we sleep the greatest things can happen,
Run do we very fast, jump so very high to touch
The sky.
Jump on the rooftop, flips in the air, slow motion
If you please,
Always for me money floating down a stream, a pile
In the street.
Just as it is grabbed by my hand disappears does it
As I become awake,
We all have been there when a monster chases us and
Then we are elsewhere.
Dreams are always so mixed up, at times tiring as we
are in places of mystery,
Floating in the air, suddenly in a bubble, we drift
Onward to where nothing makes sense,
Catch a dream, hold on tight and bring it back home
With you tonight, any night,
Catch a dream, dream to be all that you hope to be,
Dream the pefect scene.

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY, DAD
HAPPY FATHERS' DAY,
DAD
I think of you often, memories are great,
Remember when they weren't memories but real?
Wow! Dad, you left and went away so many Fathers'
Days ago,
Part of me went with you back when I was a child
At only seven.
You have been loved forever, If this time on Earth
Is how you're measured,
Another Fathers' Day, Dad, a most happy one to you,
Peace always.
Love you, Dad

BETWEEN THE TREES
BETWEEN THE TREES
From the road I step beyond, into another world,
Peaceful beauty is waiting as my morning begins.
No one here but me and whatever lives between the
Trees,
Listen to the birds high above, what types sing
Different songs?
I step into the darkened forest with my feet
Crunching The aged leaves,
Quiet sounds are everywhere, things not seen, look
Close as they are to be.
Shadows move with the swaying branches just as they
move with time,
Between the trees there is a most colorful, landscape
To take in, follow me.
There is life here that has stood for many
Generations beyond history,
Between the trees so many men and women have dreamed,
All things seen

ALIVE ON THE INSIDE
ALIVE ON THE INSIDE
There was a time when as a small boy I ran
And played like others,
Reading books was my every day thing, I
Remember a child's life.
Something was happening to me but I was scared
And hoped it would fade,
A shaky hand turned Into a life that would become
A hell not for any man.
Slowly as I age, and young still I decay In my mind,
My body does not function,
Control of my soul Is not mine as this horrible
Monster conquers what is mine.
I do not realize that time goes by In the length of
So many years as I am dead but alive,
My existence Is known and seen by strangers and a
Mother but no! not me.
I'm alive on the Inside but they think I've gone
Far, far, away, I have something to say,
If what Is hell could be worse than where I am then
I should not complain about my pain.
I want them to know that I am alive Inside, I am a
Person that has only died on the outside,
I am alive! I am alive!.

BUILD ME A HOUSE
BUILD ME A HOUSE
A place of dreams, I need your help to build
Me a house,
This house is to be of strength and hope, power
Of love.
Built to withstand the forces of nature, it will
Contain no hate,
Let the anger remain outside this fence, enter with
Just one face.
Build me a house of togetherness, my place of
Peace shall begin,
My house will be of reality fore there is no fantasy
But in the mind.
Build me a house of safety where I am at ease feeling
Free,
Beautiful surroundings of natures greenery and life.
A great pool of water where I can get lost inside,
built for myself a wonderful place of music to escape,
Build me a house of happiness for all eternity.

A PAGE FROM YESTERDAY
A PAGE FROM YESTERDAY
Memories, a window to our past, pictures of
Special times,
Friends' we once knew, where are they now,
Somewhere.
There are those no longer among us, their
Story is written,
A book closed, put away on a shelf but forever
Cherished.
We thought as children that life was magic
And wishes,
Teenagers having fun trying to figure out
Where we were going.
We were fortunate to have been given such
Friends back in time,
Lucky If we are still blessed with their presence
Today.
We take a page from yesterday, off comes that
Book from its place,
Remember that friend In our heart that never
Disappears, that face.
A voice that was once heard, a smile, now an echo,
Forever a thought,
Well! today some of those faces, those voices,
And a smile remembered
Are here to share a night, a memory and a page
Again written, a book.

STRENGTH
STRENGTH
The lion Is strong and fearless as he roams'
The jungle,
It Is knonwn that he is there, his crown
Invisible but seen.
There Is strength In a man who stands' up
For what he believes,
He Is strong and powerful with words' of
Kowledge or silence.
Doing what Is hardest, doing what scares one
But must be done,
Facing ones' self In the mirror and admitting
He has faults.
Strength Is letting your emotions' show but
Kept in control,
Knowing Inside there's a man although vulnerable.
I am a man, I have strength.

MR. FITSCHU
MR. FITSCHU
A fictional character from back in time,
On a planet of giants, no peace could he find.
Running for his life as everything was an
Adventure,
Not a task was small, each day was like forever.
What seemed like a nightmare was reality for him,
They were not monsters, in fact, human just as he.
Not friendly as they would not understand this,
A freak to be put in a cage, laughed at, a prisoner.
Mr. Fitschu would forever be running for his life,
Always watching, in the land of the giants.

MY FIGHT
MY FIGHT
I sit at night and realize the fight,
For which I have In my sight.
To have my children at my side,
I will have to sacrifice each day and night.
If I am to win my fight,
I will have to make things' right.
Why Is It that I sit at night,
To think about the fight In sight?
I wish that I could sleep at night,
Instead of thinking about my fight.
When I think about my children tonight,
Then I know my fight Is right.
When my children are at my side,
Then It's time to end my fight.
For my children,
Sean Christopher Garrett 7 yrs.
Scott Ryan Garrett 4 yrs.
Sarah Renee Garrett 2 yrs.
I love you, Dad

JONATHAN
"JONATHAN"
Jealousy for a young girl would soon turn
To grief,
Wishing selfishly that her newborn brother
Would never be.
Through coincidence and reasons only God knows,
A brother dies,
Believing in her heart and mind that her bad
Thoughts are to blame,
She travels far, high upon a mountain where closer
To god she might be.
Tired, so very tired as she lays herself down upon
The mountain ground,
Before she sleeps, a prayer she makes to God for
Her brother's life in place of her own.
When the morning light shines this child awakes
Covered in warmth and a man with a smile,
Where did he come from as he asks how she slept
And a bowl of hot porridge offered to her.
He asks of her journey there, he is a most unusual
Sort of man who appears to possess much wisdom,
She speaks of her conversation with God as he listens
With a look of great understanding.
"What is your name she asks" I am Jonathan! this is
My mountain and you are far from home,
I wanted to be as high as possible so that God would
Hear me when I said I was sorry.
Listen child! It's not your fault, he has made
His decision, your brother with him, you with your
Family,
Was this a miracle that a father found his daughter
high on a mountain, was he shown the way,
Where was Jonathan, was he an angel? she shared
time with him, never again was he seen.
