FACES IN THE WATER

                  FACES IN THE WATER

By myself as I am sitting beneath the warm,
 Rising sun,

There exists a slight, cool, morning breeze around me.

Watch I do as the tall, dancing, trees stand high above,

Rays from the sun shine through the branches of leaves.

What surrounds me this day is taken for granted beauty,

The quiet is an always wanted gift that will never go
 Away.

The calm pond water rests around me while I think
 And dream,

When I look down to find my reflection I see not me
 But that of other days.

My thoughts take me to yesterday, far, far, away as
 if it were today,

The water is quite still now like clear, shiny, glass,
I drift off like a dream.

Faces in the water, clearly I can see with memories,
 Faces in the water,

Days of old, friends scattered with time are seen
 Floating in the sun.

DO YOU BELIEVE IN THE WIZARD?

DO YOU BELIEVE IN THE WIZARD?

Fable, folklore, or perhaps so very real somewhere
 In another time,

Like a mystical story from times of old England it seems
 This could be.

Possibly he lived in a great castle of stone along a
 Flowing river,

In a time of fire breathing dragons and a sword pulled
 From a stone.

Do you believe in the wizard who may have been dressed
 In a long black robe,

Pictures in gold color of half moons, stars, and maybe a
 Dragon on it.

A hat of black, a wand that casts spells of magical good
And evil once upon a time,

He may have had a long beard of white with a face of much
 Wisdom and knowledge.

A magic book of spells and potions made for love and pain,
Do you believe in the wizard?

DRINK FROM THE FOUNTAIN

                 DRINK FROM THE FOUNTAIN

Fact or a fantasy, like the wishing, neverending
 Thought that we can

Climb up and follow that mysterious rainbow to a
 Magical land.

A four leaf clover, that search for the little green
 Grass of hope,

Wish upon a star, will It get you far, blow out the
 Candles.

Did you get that which you closed your eyes for.

Drink from the fountain, first you must search the
 World,

Reality or a myth, could this be true, did God place
 Upon this earth

The fountain of life, Is It possible somewhere hidden
 Contains a fountain so true?

How can this be a possibility fore It Is said that all
 Will someday die,

If so true then God put It In a place where no man would
 Ever venture to.

DROPS OF BLOOD AT MY FEET

DROPS OF BLOOD AT MY FEET

Tears flow from my eyes, I wish not to care about
 Their minds,

There is blood flowing through my veins, blood of the
 Related of many years.

With every angry sound, from the time the earth started
 Spinning around,

As each and every battle from war, cries echo for
 Thousands of years, with sound.

Wounds that don't heal as they surface with time, one
Wrong word, explosion from the mind,

Civilizations disappear, towns of people that once were
Are no more, things age and die.

Life is an unusual adventure, travel from a place of
Beginning, onward to an earthly end,

Blood spills in many ways, blood of pain, sorrow, the
Hurt From loved one's red every day.

Drops of blood at my feet, they can not be seen but they
 Visit me from painful dreams,

Blood soaked land, drops of blood at my feet, blood on
The Hands of many a man.

BOARD GAME

                   BOARD GAME

Watch the world as the pieces move never ending,
 The world turns,

We start from a beginning moving with a roll of the
 Dice, A card chosen.

Does God watch as we play, is he in our every move?

Round and round we go as this board game of life takes
 Us away.

Is the game played right, do we understand the
 Consequences Of our choice,

Are we the players or are we being played, is there a
 Point to the game?

Could the game be everlasting or does it end in a moment
 For some,

Spin the wheel, flip a coin, take a chance and walk
 Your own path.

STRENGTH AND POWER

                  STRENGTH AND POWER

With so much force and power am I,

Formed In the beginning, only time knows just why.

I travel and move up and down,

Over and under, my crash forms a sound.

All that lives here answers to me,

These creatures are many, on land they're not to be.

I move along across the sand,

Sometimes I'm sitting calm, other times, high I'll
 Stand.

 Everywhere Is seen by me,

I've visited far off places just like thee.

Throughout time many have sailed across my path,

At times kind I am to them but so many have felt
 My wrath.

I am strength and power, I am the ocean.

COLORS

                      COLORS'

There are many things' through our eyes' we see,
Images of life born to we.

Each day we awake, pictures are framed,
In our minds' colors' are named.

Blue Is one like an ocean or sky,
Green Is another such as grass or a dye.

Red Is hot, dangerous, and bright,
Like lava or fire when close to your sight.

Yellow Is soft and warm lot like the sun,
Purple Is sweet like grapes eaten for fun.

Orange Is a fruit or a petal of a rose,
Maybe some candy or colors' of your clothes.

Black Is a storm or the dark of night,
Sight taken from you or things' not so right.

White Is milk or a polar bear,
A pair of dice or skin that Is fair.

There are many colors' made to be,
A favorite for all and one for you and me.

CHILDREN WERE WE

                CHILDREN WERE WE

Echoes In time, treasured sounds dreamed In my mind,

From a lifetime ago In a place from the past, a town.

Walking In the streets, a simple time remembered,

Shadows, ghosts of friends' thought of once In a while.

Warm Summer's with not a care In the world for us,

Young were we as If today might be yesterday.

With the wind, the years are swept away Into today,

The voice of a woman, a girl brought from a distant day.

Children were we just a moment ago, only a moment ago,

From a man to a woman again I might know, Images of
 Children,

Thoughts of a place sometimes traveled In my mind alone.

             For you,

           Keith Garrett

COMING ON IS AUGUST

                COMING ON IS AUGUST

The end of another month, hot Summer nights are here,

Tomorrow a new day begins, a name for another beginning.

August brings us a most hated heatwave, long days are
 Coming,

I awake in the night to heat that grows stronger into
 The Morning light.

Coming on is August when the sun rises to a different
 Summer Chapter,

Darkness fades early as the brightness of a morning new
 Is Upon us all.

Sleep well tonight, everyone across the world will wake
 To An August once again,

What to expect when we rise to tomorrow, get up early
 To a quiet start.
Coming on is August, I wait for a cooler day to replace
 Its name.

BEFORE AND AFTER

                BEFORE AND AFTER

There was a time when I was not here,

No thoughts, no name or Identity were mine.

I had no pain or sorrow, not a thing for me to know,

Where was I before I became me, somewhere waiting?

A time will come when I am no longer here, will I
 Have thoughts?

A name remembered, my Identity will not be this body
 Or mind.

Again there will be no pain or sorrow, I will be
 Somewhere else,

Before and after, heaven bound, where was I before my
 First sound?
