REFLECTIONS

                      REFLECTIONS'

Like the sunlight on a clear window, my Image appears,

Wandering back to you Is a place In my dreams at night,

Of the past It Is a part of you, live do you In a piece of my
today.

On lakes and rivers, oceans and wet ground after a storm,

Reflections of a kind or memories brought to our minds.

Wishing, wondering what might have been,

Backwards In time to watch has gone by, time.

Mirrors are looked Into and looking back are the faces,

Reflections of another kind, thoughts that we find.

Images of all kinds, like being children somewhere back

                                    In our minds.

                                                                                 Keith Garrett

PAGES

                                PAGES

My life starts' out like a book, not yet a cover,

Nothing Inside, page one still not printed.

My story constantly being written with every breath,

How many pages there will be not known till the end.

This title was Imagined before my creation,

Cover to cover Is mine to write as I walk my life.

With each turning page I Illustrate my own time,

The one before this just a memory In my mind.

Stay open It does until my story Is told,

Until I've been published, this mans' book will not be closed.

                                                                 Keith Garrett

MY WORLD AND WELCOME TO IT.

"MY WORLD AND WELCOME TO IT"

My name Is not Important but who I am Is not a dream,

My physical being holds no measure to my Inner creation.

I am but a poor man with riches that lie In the heart,

What I've lost I do not seek out, things of new appear to me.

Once I was a child, a small and frightened boy left somewhere,

A place, a father, and haunting memories of a time since vanished.

There have been blessed upon me friends In a life of many roads,

In these passing years, lessons of pain and triumph are understood.

Children are mine to the count of three, two sons and a daughter,

The pictures that keep them show of an older me, my world.

I am a writer of thoughts, Imagination, and living dreams,

The road I travel Is In everyday, my eyes paint scenes from stories.

Music has Its own loneliness and beauty to fill my soul and mind,

I learn from It as I write this on going tale of a world full of mystery.

There are many components that make me who I am, a wanting man,

Passion, anger, and humor are part of the spirit In me, more to see.

A thinker and energy surround a body of laughter that some can't grasp,

Not of violence to those whom know me, mistaken Is hurt for anger.

To share my life with another and one to let me In theirs Is prayed,

A poem read to, a meal for two, a walk In the park, a fire In the dark.

Brother's and sister's, a mother to far away, life has a secret,

Love that flies away fore another love will enter In Its own way.

Something beautiful and meaningful Is there before my eyes,

My name Is Keith, this Is my world and welcome to It.

                                                                                                                                                     Keith Garrett

LOOK AT THE MOUNTAIN

                      "LOOK AT THE MOUNTAIN"

Up so high It stands, watching over what's below,

We look to It as something of a miracle.

What do you see when first you glance,

A statue of power still standing long after man.

Upon It lives trees that have grown through much of our history,

Left behind, their mark of people that once were.

Streams and waterfalls created through time,

Shrubs and flowers, for years grown by the rain that falls.

Look at the mountain, stare at It long,

Born from nature with a story to tell.

IN THE SUMMER RAIN

                      IN THE SUMMER RAIN

Walking the trails, baby you and I, together under a clouded sky,

Dark and stormy, the wind howling through the trees speaking as It travels.

You start running across a wide open grassy field, wind blowing your dress,

Your hair so long and beautiful flowing In the days' breezy weather.

Chasing you do I along the path created by your footsteps, following you,

Thunder rumbles through the clouds, the wind making the grass wave across the land.

Taking hold of you with my hands gently around your waist as I hear a laugh,

Drop by drop the rain begins to come down, It falls showering us now.

Turning you around, I kiss that soft, wet face as you return a kiss to me,

There Is love In the Summer rain, there Are you and I.

TODAY, TOMORROW, AND FOREVER

                 " TODAY, TOMORROW, AND FOREVER"

Today It Is that I awake to a new life, a new morning, this morning,

Yesterday doesn't need me anymore, she holds' no place In her heart.

Dreams' die hard fore wishes are merely a fairytale, make believe,

Float do I on a cloud of hope and prayer, seeing my world day to day.

Does tomorrow wait for me, If so, look forward to my visit I will,

Not yet written, what words' does It have for me, does It hold for me a story.

Forever In this world I cannot be, I will fade away, a memory I must be,

Today, tomorrow, and forever, there will always be, a forever awaits me.

                                                                        Keith Garrett

FOLLOW ME

                        "FOLLOW ME"

To everywhere I start from here, where I stand I'll leave behind,

Watch my steps and join with me, I'll walk from here and travel far.

I'll travel by bicycle across the land, across the open road,

Around the world, around the world, follow me so very far.

In a driven car from here to there, Into the sun I'll make It there,

Follow me as I wander through country of never ending horizon.

The sounding whistle of a rumbling train catches my eye,

Take my hand and jump Into a boxcar, ride, we will ride.

Across the hills, over the bridge and through tunnels of darkness,

Faster we move to where It Is we travel, follow me, follow me I
am the captain, I will be your guide as we journey under God's sky,
Soon we must part from this locomotive driven by the man whom cries.

Down a grassy slope we walk many miles with the wind at our backs,

In the distance It sits, a giant balloon waiting under the stars of the night.

Follow me, tired as we make our way through the trees, Into a dream,

It stands so high as we board It climbing up, up beyond the clouds.

Drift with me Into the wind and hang on to my arm as we vanish,

This Is the best of life, down, down we fall slowly to the ground.

Now take my hand and get ready as we begin a flight through the night,

Fly with me above the world, hold on tight, we are In heaven tonight.

This journey takes us on a beautiful boat dancing on the sea, follow me,

Around the world follow me, an adventure for two, not many will ever see.

                                                                                           Keith Garrett

ACROSS THE SKY

.

                            ACROSS THE SKY

I soar through the air up In the wide open sky,

Just myself and some wings', we fly, and fly.

So peaceful up here, quiet without many a sound,

Feel like I'm flying to the sun, far from the ground.

Clouds' are floating to nowhere that I can see,

A neverending flight, just the sky and me.

Looking down Is another world not like here,

Across the sky, not crowded with fear.

THE TRUTH ABOUT REALITY

                  THE TRUTH ABOUT REALITY

This is real, we all live in a world together,

We are in some ways trapped with no escape.

Real is that which we see right before our eyes,

There are things happening everywhere that seem unreal,

At times we do wish to hide from reality in our own fantasies.

The truth about reality is that it is all around us forever circling,

What's among us is our reality, some get lost in their own reality.

                                                                    Keith Garrett

A STRANGER

                        "A STRANGE"

Cobwebs and tumbleweeds, traces of life and the past,

A forgotten road not so often traveled, not anymore.

Where do they go, the ones we once knew and walked with,

More and more they become ghosts, faded faces from yesterday.

Time slips away slowly Into my tomorrow where my memories are found,

Friends' are now strangers, strangers are now my friends.'

There once lived a woman whom I did not know, she lived her life without me,

In her there was not a thought of me, for me she had no meaning.

This stranger that I had not met would someday be the love a man could not forget,

Like the wind forever blowing, she has drifted, a stranger I never knew.

Where did you go,! where did you go,! A stranger I love, a woman I'll never know.
