SAIL AWAY WITH ME

SAIL AWAY WITH ME

A slight breeze blowing across the bay today, the sun will shine,

A few passing clouds but a great day to sail away with beautiful you.

Free to wander a different part of life, escape together across the water,

What a beautiful day, such a pretty smile on a beautiful face ready to sail.

I brought wine and cheese and If It gets chilly something stronger you see,

A blanket to cover up with as the day loses the sun, some music and some love.

Sail away with me beyond all that we every day see, just you and me, the sea,

Remember our day together, our time In the sun sailing Along the horizon line.

Sail away with me, forever we’ll sail together until go away forever.

RENDEZVOUS

RENDEZVOUS

Love taken for granted, desire and temptation so sinful,

A smile, a glance from a stranger not yet known, danger looms’.

One who has everything but yet nothing at all cries Inside,

Another whom seeks’ the attention, In return attention finds’.

Two smiles, two different hearts’ wanting adventure without thought,

A soul with nothing to lose but will lose, she who chances to throw It all away.

Rendezvous, secretly meeting, passion destroys’ many hearts’ In a circle,

Pieces of a life scattered, only a misguided feeling from being forever shattered.

A body that sins’ as another whom loves lets out tears’ of forgiveness,

Does also sin with the life taken from a man with nothing to lose but everything.

Rendezvous,

REMEMBER THIS MAN

REMEMBER THIS MAN

He lived in a time of war and pain,

A knight of a King, a warrior with a name.

On an Island that rests across the sea,

Remember this man who fought in old England.

Centuries ago, stories of old, a time of blood,

Lived by the sword, a fighting man on a horse.

What was his name, does it matter this day,

Did he sacrifice, did this man make a change.

What was accomplished by the blood on his sword,

He killed for a King, a man on a throne.

Tears in his eyes, perhaps on the day he did die,

With his last breath did he ask forgiveness to the sky.

RAGS TO RICHES

RAGS TO RICHES

He went to rags after some unexpected events,

Wandering the streets with not so much to eat.

Down on his luck with not more than a buck,

Things would change in a most unusual way.

A chance to prove he was smarter than a fool,

He rose from the dirty ground, smarter than he knew.

On top of the world, a financial breakthrough be told,

A story of losing all you have, rags to riches, maybe back.

I’M ALIVE!

I’M ALIVE!

My heart beats’, Each breath taken Is a breath to be not taken for granted,

The blood runs’ through my veins’ as every moment Is a moment I’ll see.

There’s a fragrance of herbs’ In the garden, life lives around me, darling,

The wind Is felt upon my face as I watch the sun move across the open sky.

Something lost and something gained as another day slips away,

Never knowing what to expect from another morning born, I’m alive!.

The air we take In Isn’t for free, the price we pay to live In Gods’ mystery,

Love holds’ no promises, love comes to stay and love drifts away, I’m alive.

We are the fortunate ones’ If the chance Is for us to laugh or cry one more time,

share a kiss, a hug, take that last walk with a love along the ocean shore, once more.

I’d just like to say I’m alive!, “yes darling” every day I’m alive!.

QUITTER

QUITTER

He gave up on himself as he did on others,

To try something of a challenge gave him much fear.

Instead of standing tall and helping a fellow human being

He gave up, it was too much trouble for him,

He did not understand the worth of either one.

He did not become strong by facing his fear,

Nor a good and decent man because he never cared about much.

There was good in him but he took not the time to work on

Or overcome difficult tasks,

The path he walked became quiet and lonely.

Because he was known as a quitter and never gave,

In return, not a soul cared to help him,

They also in return gave up on him.

He was quit on, as he was the quitter.

QUIETLY LONELY

QUIETLY LONELY

Into the mist, through the trees, walking barefoot,

Leaves beneath my cold feet, leaves of brown and green.

The sun does not shine as the fog creeps across the land,

Making its way through these lonely woods deep in nowhere.

What is alive as the morning awakes to a quiet day, this day,

So old are these woods, what tales they may tell of yesterday.

Ghosts of the past, people whom once were, they who lived here,

Quietly lonely as I think and dream, just quietly lonely.

QUIET SOUNDS

QUIET SOUNDS

A butterfly floats through the air,

Up the tree, a squirrel climbs high.

A far off plane, hear it far away,

The meow of a cat, water in a stream.

The whisper in the ear of a loving girl,

Ticking of a clock, time of the world.

A flag slowly blowing in the breeze,

Leaves falling from a tree, that’s what I mean.

Slowly a fire burns, crackling of the wood,

Quiet sounds of peace, these things that are good.

QUALITY OF LIFE

QUALITY OF LIFE

When we are young for granted we take running till day is done,

Strong legs and energy, so fortunate if you are without sickness.

Adjust do we our every day in different ways as we wear down, decay,

Push on through, never surrendering to age or time, we do let go.

Quality of life, that’s how we wish to live, pain free and happy,

We all live a different lifestyle, our individual way of living each day.

Quality of life, it can change in a flash, an accident, disaster, disease,

Life is a special gift, our quality of life means much to us, to live or exist.

How good is life when you feel sick or can’t enjoy your daily activities,

We all have or will one day acquire those things, ailments that will limit us.

Appreciate the health you have and run, play, see everything while you can.

THE GREATEST GIFT

THE GREATEST GIFT

What is a gift, a wrapped present for a birthday,

Wedding poems from those who do in fact love.

Watch as the sun rises each day, feel its warmth,

Feel the wind all around you, breathe the air.

See as the rain falls upon the plants and trees,

Look to the sky and wish you could touch the moon and stars.

The ocean wanders all around, listen as it roars,

Put your feet in the sand, laugh a little more.

The mountains are a beautiful sight, touch them,

The desert is another wonder to behold, open your eyes.

The greatest gift I wonder, might it be the compassion of others, the care of friends,

I thought of this today as I felt stress and fear,

There are many good things, the miracles of the Winter are some.

The greatest gift of all is a breath of life every day.
