DO YOU KNOW ME?

DO YOU KNOW ME?

Suddenly in just an instance, you were there,

I do not know you, you are everywhere.

You appeared with a name, it does not say from where you came,

A smile of mystery, a face never before seen.

I have a name, it does not speak of who I am,

A mask is worn, that I might not be hurt.

Many thoughts and fears live within my spirit,

I’ve been everywhere if nowhere.

I hide and run to keep myself from harm,

There are faces I wear, faces of change.

Do you know me at all, more than yesterday,

I speak from the heart, there is no shame.

DO WORDS MAKE YOU CRY?

DO WORDS’ MAKE YOU CRY

Feelings’ upon feelings’ from this heart shown without regret,

From my lips’ to your little ears’, words’ spoken so true.

If I say hi Is there from you a smile or a sadness,

Do you shiver when I call and to you, my voice Is heard?

Do you cry when my love for you Is told, even though you know,

When goodbye Is a word whispered to you, sweet and wonderful you.

Do words’ make you cry If they’re about you and I, tell me why tell me why,

Do words’ make you cry, do I, tell me, tell me, do words’ make you cry.

DO THE CLOUDS COVER HEAVEN?

DO THE CLOUDS COVER HEAVEN

On a clear night, we can see beyond the stars,

Is heaven up there so far, do we know where we are.?

Do the clouds cover heaven, is this something so true,

When we can’t see the open sky is heaven hidden from me and you.?

Do the clouds cover heaven or is it seen always from our hearts,

Heaven is where, always a clear sky when we make our journey there.

DO YOU KNOW THESE PEOPLE?

DO YOU KNOW THESE PEOPLE?

They are shadows of friends’ long since gone,

They are men and women, friendly or not, they are,

They stand there co- workers’, strangers’ not yet known.

Husbands’ wives, boyfriends’ or girlfriends’ past and present,

A chance there’s a brother, sister missed for some time,

Ghosts’ from memories of a long time ago, friend or foe.

A mother or father, one for awhile missed, the other forever,

Once stood where you could see, now shadows In eternity.

Do you know these people, can you recognize their faces,

From different times and different places.

DO MY WORDS TELL YOU A STORY?

DO MY WORDS TELL YOU A STORY?

Writing my thoughts changes the way in which I speak,

Thinking about what I write, explaining the way I feel.

Emotions have many parts created from a lifetime,

A story I started writing from a time when just a small boy.

I say all kinds of things fore there’s much to say,

Words have become the power that moves me through the day.

If you listen closely there are messages from my lips,

Telling you about myself, letting you know who I am.

Do my words tell you a story or do you not read what is said.?

DISORDERS OF THE MIND

DISORDERS OF THE MIND

To have a physical illness is of the normal as we are hurt in a day,

Might even get a little sympathy for that brain tumor or decaying spine.

When it comes to disorders of the mind then we are on our own,

The medical world doesn’t care as authorization for what’s not there is denied.

My thoughts and questions come to life as which is mental but what becomes both,

Disorders of the mind are a serious matter, they are a disease, not a made up fantasy.

To be denied by society is a horrible injustice but let me tell you a worse thing,

When your family and friends really don’t want to hear and let me say they don’t wish to listen.

Accept this fact and move on, we try to explain and hope they’ll understand and be of support,

I know just as well as all of you that those you keep telling are laughing, rolling their eyes.

Get over it! don’t be such a baby, it’s all in your mind, what the hell is wrong with you,

“Let me tell you what’s wrong” I like many others have a disease that comes along and attacks.

It doesn’t feel good, we suffer each day with this monster that won’t leave us alone, it finds us,

It is strong, our battle is much but we must be stronger or it will take everything from us.

This terrible disorder of the mind has other names, we speak of panic disorder, Agoraphobia,

You can’t just say go away! It angers me to hear this from people, make your ignorance go away.

It is said that it won’t kill you, we fight but it steals from us while we attempt to work and play,

Please recognize and understand that this pain inside our brains does not discriminate and is real.

DID YOU SEE TODAY?

DID YOU SEE TODAY

Did you see this day, the sunrise upon the treetops,

Birds in the sky, working to survive.?

Did you see today, the world of a different face,

Did you happen to notice things of change.?

Walking along, did you hear from streets, a song,

Did you see between the scenes what is reality.?

Did you see the eyes of one who passes you by,

Do you really ever see their faces, what do they hide.?

Did you see today, hunger under the freeways,

Did you look for the lost souls who wander their own way?

If you open your mind did you see a different picture from inside,

Did you see today, from another way?

WE CARRY AN HOURGLASS

WE CARRY AN HOURGLASS

You can never see It, There are many sizes, we hold It,

We don’t feel It’s weight as It Is heavy with the sand of life.

It pours at a speed meant for only us, fast or slow, It drains,

There Is no tipping It upside down and starting over, a little older.

We carry an hourglass, the sand sits high or It may be down low,

What we carry Is a chance to grow old, the hourglass may be shattered without knowing.

DID YOU SEE THE WORLD TODAY

DID YOU SEE THE WORLD TODAY?

I awoke this morning to the sunlight along with the musical tunes of nature,

Scrub jays of beautiful blue flying here and there collecting their peanuts.

I watch the Squirrels running, playing, and eating breakfast set out for them,

Life is awake, plants and trees, flowers and green surround from all around.

In the distance I can hear many flying creatures, the echo of a dog calling out,

The blue sky lay like a blanket over what has been created from the master.

Did you see the world today, did you look around to all that may be found,

Did you see the hills and green grass dancing back and forth.

Did you see the day change from yesterday, the world change before you,

Did you see the world today, see it before it disappears and goes away.

DID YOU HEAR IT LAST NIGHT?

DID YOU HEAR IT LAST NIGHT?

I awoke last night to a booming sound, echoing across the sky,

Cracking like a whip was it as I lay there listening and wondering.

Thunder, louder it became, the sound of sparks high in the sky,

Very unusual as my eyes needed to see what this spectacle could be.

Nothing could I see except the sounds ringing into the dark night,

Did you hear it last night? it came out of the sky, I tell you no lies.

Like heavy footsteps across the clouds, horses galloping with no sight,

What was happening, was it something so real, was it just I who heard,

Did you hear it last night, did it bring you fright, was it from beyond the sky?
